"If you can’t trust yourself, who can you trust?" Lionsgate has debuted an official trailer for Blackwater Lane, yet another of these cheap and clunky thrillers that looks like it was made-for-tv in the 90s. This is getting released in June right away on VOD if anyone cares. Adapted from the book titled "The Breakdown" written by B.A. Paris. Late one night a woman drives by a stranded motorist who is later revealed to have been murdered. After a series of terrifying events the woman believes she is the killer's next victim. From the book: "The only thing she can't forget is that woman, the woman she might have saved, and the terrible nagging guilt. And the silent calls she's receiving, or the feeling that someone's watching her..." Blackwater Lane stars Minka Kelly, Maggie Grace, Dermot Mulroney, with Natalie Simpson, Kris Johnson, Edward Baker-Duly, and Pandora Clifford. "It doesn't make any sense.

The “Hearties” are still waiting to hear when they can expect When Calls the Heart Season 11 to hit Hallmark Channel, but in the meantime, we have a milestone to celebrate! January 11 marks When Calls the Heart’s 10th anniversary, and it’s been a decade full of drama — both in the fictional Coal Valley and, occasionally, in real life. In honor of the show’s 10th birthday, here are some fun facts about the Hallmark hit that you might not know… It was a Hallmark movie before it was a Hallmark series. Before producer Michael Landon Jr. developed the When Calls the Heart TV show, he turned the same Janette Oke story into a Hallmark movie. Also titled When Calls the Heart, that 2013 movie featured Maggie Grace, Jean Smart, and Stephen Amell. And Lori Loughlin plays Abigail in both versions. The original plan was to film When Calls the Heart in Colorado.

Pierre Morrel's 2008 film "Taken" is brazenly morally irresponsible.
"Taken" was not so much a thriller as an indulgent "dad fantasy," rooted in xenophobia and male sexual hysterics. The lead character, Bryan Mills, played by a wholly devoted and utterly capable Liam Neeson, was a divorced dad of a teenage girl named Kim (Maggie Grace) who saw his clout as a parent disappearing into the wealthy black hole of a cold-shouldered ex-wife (Famke Janssen) and her attentive new husband (Xander Berkeley). Bryan is a former CIA agent, and his job kept him away from home enough to damage his marriage. When Kim announces that she and a friend are going on an international holiday together, Bryan warns her that such an excursion is dangerous; kidnappers, he knows, often target traveling American teenage girls and sell them into sexual slavery. It sounds paranoid and everyone dismisses him.
Perhaps predictably, Kim is almost...

Every Sunday evening, loyal Hearties take a break from real life and are transported to the world of Hope Valley. For 10 seasons (soon to be 11), Hallmark Channel’s beloved series When Calls the Heart has explored the stories of schoolteacher Elizabeth and the other residents of the small town on the Canadian frontier.
While Hallmark has brought Hope Valley to life on screen, fans can thank author Janette Oke for crafting the stories that inspired the show, which is based on her Canadian West series. And while When Calls the Heart diverted from its source material some time ago, Oke’s books remain a companion to the show. So, if you want to experience a different version of Elizabeth’s story, here are all the When Calls the Heart books, in order.

When we meet Ben Grady (Grant Rosenmeyer), he can barely lift himself out of the living room chair. By the end of this lo-fi indie drama, he’s soaring among the clouds like some kind of schlubby superhero — or one of those kids from “Chronicle” — having mastered what “The Secret Art of Human Flight” calls … well, you heard the title. Maybe not “mastered” exactly, but Ben’s finally getting the hang of it, and that’s exhilarating, since flying couldn’t be farther from the state we found him in earlier, wallowing in melancholy after the unexpected death of his wife Sarah (Reina Hardesty).
As presented by director H.P. Mendoza, Ben and Sarah were practically the cutest couple you could imagine. They published children’s books together and made video diaries for their followers on TikTok, which Ben insisted they turn into a kind of insurance policy so that each...

Evangeline Lilly has spoken about the backlash she received for attending an anti-vaccine mandate in 2022 for the first time.
The Ant-Man star shared photographs from the rally supporting “bodily sovereignty” in Washington DC on her Instagram.
Lilly, in the caption of her Instagram post, wrote that she believed nobody should be “forced to inject their body with anything, against their will”.
She also listed a number of alleged consequences – without furnishing proof – that those who remained unvaccinated were “under the threat of” starvation and homelessness.
This was the same rally where leading anti-vaxxer Robert F Kennedy Jr compared vaccine mandates to life under the Nazis.
Getting vaccinated has been proven and corroborated by experts to be the safest way to avoid the risk of hospitalisation from Covid.

Saying goodbye in The Walking Dead universe usually consists of bloodshed, tears, and scheming, but Al got one of the best goodbyes in the franchise's history.
Fear the Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 6 was all about Al in what can only be described as Maggie Grace's final episode -- for now.
The camera's return threw it back to Fear the Walking Dead Season 5, and not in a good way.
Many of the episodes of late feature the characters in situations bogged down by less-than-impressive writing.
The fundamental issue with "Reclamation" was in the writing. So much of what happened was frivolous and could have been told in passing.
There was this big emphasis on Al, and rightfully so, if the intent was to bring her storyline to a close.
Fans have wanted more Isabelle since her one-episode stint, and quite frankly, they deserved better than a one or two-minute scene...

That doesn’t look like a nuclear wasteland on Fear the Walking Dead?! Hopeful former leader Morgan Jones (Lennie James) is trekking toward greener pastures, literally. But just because he’s not decked out in his hazmat suit and gas mask to avoid the fallout of the warheads that exploded across Texas in the Season 6 finale doesn’t mean he’ll have an easy trip. “Morgan is still trying to discover how many of his group survived and what he might have to do to bring them all back together,” James says. (Credit: Lauren “Lo” Smith/AMC) He has already located — and threatened — traitor Victor Strand (Colman Domingo), who is running his own colony, called the Tower, with nurse June Dorie (Jenna Elfman) and her father-in-law, John Sr. (Keith Carradine), stuck inside. In the November 21 episode, Morgan and his love Grace (Karen David) hope to locate ex-journalist Al (Maggie Grace...

The world as our favorite characters knows it is over.
That might seem like a strange observation when you consider the fact they've spent years fighting for survival in a zombie apocalypse, but now they have a new world to endure, one that is filled with radiation and new perils.
One of those perils appears to be good old Victor Strand (Colman Domingo).
While the freshly released Comic-Con clips for Fear the Walking Dead Season 7 spends a lot of time on the events of the nuclear blast, it does begin to paint a picture of what we can expect when the series returns later this year.
The characters have been haunted by the sins of the past for so long that there's no telling how far they will be pushed to survive.

During Saturday’s Fear the Walking Dead Comic-Con @ Home panel, Scott M. Gimple, not only an EP but the Dead-verse’s Chief Content Officer, teased that Season 7 of the spinoff would give fans new intel about the Crm, the group by whom Anne had Rick helicoptered to safety back in Season 9 of the mothership. However, the Fear story itself wouldn’t be Rick-centric in nature.
“Each show has a different piece of the puzzle, but those pieces of the puzzle… aren’t just plots, they are personal stories for the characters that do advance aspects of the greater mythology,” he explained.

As the "Walking Dead" TV universe has expanded over the years, there's only been one group that's appeared in the main series and both spinoffs: the Civic Republic, or Crm, which served as the main villains of the "World Beyond" spinoffs. But on "Fear the Walking Dead," which is currently years earlier than either "World Beyond" or the main series, there's just one Crm person we care about: Isabelle, played by Sydney Lemmon, who will finally return in season 7.
The news came out of the "Fear the Walking Dead" panel during Comic-Con@Home on Saturday afternoon, where we also learned that "Ftwd" season 7 will premiere on AMC on October 17, with an early release on AMC+. Co-showrunner Andrew Chambliss broke the news, but didn't say how much we can expect to see of Lemmon.

(This article contains spoilers for the season 6 finale of “Fear the Walking Dead.”)
Now that is follow-through.
I’m not sure many people expected actually expected much of anything would happen with the nuke when we learned that Teddy’s doomsday cult wanted to blow everybody on “Fear the Walking Dead” up. Obviously, it’s a pretty exciting threat to have to deal with, but come on. Did you really think a nuke would go off on this show?
Regardless of our expectations, they did it. They really did it. And I think I can speak for most viewers when I say I’m extremely curious about what’s gonna happen now that Isabelle, Al’s girlfriend from the Civic Republic — those are the baddies from “The Walking Dead: World Beyond” — is apparently now taking an active role in events on “Fear.”

June is no longer welcome at Morgan's compound.
That much is evident after watching the first few minutes of Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 13, which we're able to share with you exclusively.
We get to see June arriving at the compound, only to be stopped at the gate by Morgan, who wonders whether his and Grace's child would have survived had they not had to travel to June.
That allows June to confirm that it wouldn't have helped because the child had already died.
Morgan reveals that Grace will not speak to anyone and is holed up in the old church. Understandably, she's suffering, and it will probably be sometime before she can confront the insurmountable loss.
But, for now, June is kicked out of the compound and no longer welcome, no matter how much she tells Morgan that a doctor should look over grace.
Ultimately, June exits the compound after Morgan persists,...

This Fear the Walking Dead review contains spoilers.
Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 9
If there’s one thing Fear the Walking Dead understands about existing in a zombie apocalypse, it’s that living is hard. Every week, our grizzled cast of characters must contend with the inevitable attrition within their ranks. As we learned last week with poor John Dorie, it’s not a matter of if you’ll die, but when you’ll die. Sometimes our hapless survivors see death coming, but more often than not it’s an ugly surprise, meted out by the living. That brings us to “Things Left to Do” and an unexpectedly early end to Virginia’s reign, which is a shame, really, since Colby Minifie delivers a truly knockout final performance. But more on Virginia in a bit.

Lockout, starring Guy Pearce and Maggie Grace, is the best sci-fi prison break movie available on Netflix right now.
“Prison break movies are a dime a dozen. Going back to The Great Escape, there seems to be no shortage of masterminded criminals who can muscle their way out of maximum security detention. Whether it’s Cool Hand Luke or even Chicken Run, it’s a tried and true genre.”

Few movies are worse than one that’s a disappointing adaptation of your favorite book. Check out the ten worst sinners in recent years.
“Watching a film adaptation of your favorite book is a risky business. At best, you might walk away feeling entertained but slightly disappointed that certain characters or scenes didn’t make it into the movie. At worst, you could end up livid that filmmakers somehow got everything so wrong.”
