Sophia Di Martino is an iconic actress who portrayed the role of Sylvie in the iconic MCU show Loki alongside Tom Hiddleston. Being a fan of Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Di Martino has a fantastic idea for the future of the MCU.
The idea involved bringing Sophia Di Martino’s Sylvie and Chris Hemsworth’s Thor face-to-face. Although this idea might sound cool enough, we are here to tell you that there is one person missing. Jamie Alexander, who portrayed the role of Lady Sif in Thor: Love and Thunder is all someone needs for the Sylvie and Thor crossover, and here’s why:

Marvel Studios' Echo added two notable Agents of Shield actors who played important roles in the 2024 Disney+ series.
Agents of Shield's place in MCU canon has been on the minds of many Marvel fans, especially after confusing timeline placements.
While the Marvel series featured major cameos like Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury and Jamie Alexander's Sif in its first two seasons, the wider MCU connections became lesser as it progressed.

In the new trailer for director Kenneth Branagh’s Thor, we finally see star Chris Hemsworth in mallet-swinging combat against his backstabbing brother Loki, a planet of ice-giants, and the heaven-sent hellfire machine The Destroyer. Yesterday, Branagh talked exclusively with EW about the triumvirate of villains in the movie, opening in 3-D on May 6.
Now the director goes into more detail about how he attempts to humanize a comic-book god, Thor’s clumsy relationship with women, whether he’ll make a cameo appearance, and how Star Trek and Shakespeare helped him find his hero.

Season two of Nurse Jackie concluded with Kevin saying these words to his wife. What sort of impact will that have on the title character when season three kicks off on March 28?
Not much, based on the footage below. It looks like Jackie is still lying her way through life and work on new episodes of this Showtime hit, although those around her are at least catching on. Get your first look at upcoming scenes now, including the appearance of Jamie Alexander as Kevin's sister.

When your movie starts shooting in only two weeks, casting your leads now is kind of being late to the party. At least, this story coming from Variety leads me to believe that James Caviezel and Chiwetel Ejiofor will not only be the leads in Annette Haywood-Carter’s historical drama Savannah, but have also just joined the cast.
Said cast includes Bradley Whitford, of West Wing fame, Jamie Alexander, Hal Holbrook and 30 Rock’s wonderful Jack McBrayer. The movie is based on the real life aristocrat Ward Allen (Caviezel), who in the early 1900’s formed a relationship with freed slave Christmas Moultrie (Ejiofor). Shooting starts on the romantic date of February 14th, in the town of Savannah (how appropriate), Georgia. The two leads are actors I have a great amount of respect for, so seeing them as the leads in a film together should be exciting.

Read our full report from the set of Thor here! The first person we had the pleasure of speaking to while on the ice world sound stage off the set of Thor was the lovely Jamie Alexander (Love And Other Drugs, "Kyle Xy"), playing the role of Asgardian warrior 'Sif'. In the comics, Sif becomes Thor's lover and adventuring companion, but their relationship doesn't begin that way. Alexander, playful and outgoing in her interview, describes the dynamic we'll encounter in the film....

Jamie Alexander has landed a sizable role on season three of Nurse Jackie.
The actress, who has guest-starred on Bones and CSI: Miami, will play Kevin's sister, Tunie, a character Entertainment Weekly described as "wild and immature."
Look for Jackie's sister-in-law to appear in at least four episode of the Showtime hit.
When we last left Kevin and Jackie, the former had staged an intervention for his wife. It's unclear how his younger sister's presence will play a role in this family dynamic.

With Comic-Con 2010 officially kicking off this Thursday, Marvel and Paramount jumped the gun by releasing wide conceptual art posters for the upcoming Captain America & Thor films on Yahoo Movies. In the Thor poster, the Norse God is seen in the middle of a face-off with his evil brother Loki in front of an epic looking backdrop. Thor is slated for release on May 6, 2011, and will star Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Natalie Portman (Jane Foster), Jamie Alexander (Sif) and Anthony Hopkins (Odin) with Kenneth Branagh directing a script by Mark Protosevich, Ashley Miller, Zack Stentz and Don Payne. For the Captain America poster, our hero Steve Rogers is in the middle of a World War II backdrop, deflecting the bullets of commie scum from his infamous shield. Captain America: The First Avenger will star Chris Evans as (Steve Rogers/Captain America), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes), Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter...

If you're anything like us, chances are you were uncontrollably geeking out over Et's Thor set visit video released last week, and probably missed a lot of cool Asgardian awesomeness (despite numerous viewings). No prob, there was more than enough Thor goodness packed into the two minute clip, from seeing Chris Hemsworth in action to the clearly Kirby-inspired settings, but apparently everyone missed out on a sneak peek at Thor's on-again, off-again special lady, Sif (played by Jamie Alexander).
Fortunately, the folks at ComingSoon.net were a bit more level-headed over the clip, and managed to snag a few screen caps of Sif in action. We've pilfered one, but fans of Marvel's Thunder God should definitely check the source for more.

Yesterday concept art of the Captain America costume made the rounds, giving eager fans of the comic book adaptation an early glimpse at the on-screen duds of Chris Evans. Today it’s all about Chris Hemsworth and Thor.
Although we saw Hemsworth suited up in his Norse armor and red cape in April, these new concept art images paint the whole picture of what Thor will look like on May 6, 2011. Plus he’s rocking his hammer, Mjolner. Pay no attention to his tiny head.
Aside from Hemsworth, the Kenneth Branagh-directed film stars Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Natalie Portman (Jane Foster), Anthony Hopkins (Odin), Jamie Alexander (Sif), Ray Stevenson (Volstagg), Tadanobu Asano (Hogun), Stuart Townsend (Fandral), Colm Feore, and Stellan Skarsgard.

A day before shooting gets underway on Marvel’s Thor, Stuart Townsend exited the production due to “creative differences” and was replaced by Joshua Dallas, according to the Associated Press.
Townsend was set to play Fandral the Dashing, a friend to the titular Norse god and a member of the “Warriors Three” with Ray Stevenson and Tadanobu Asano. The Stan Lee-created character is a master swordsman based on Errol Flynn.
The part is a smaller, supporting role in the comic book movie, so I can’t imagine where his creative differences came from. A source for Ain’t It Cool News alleges Townsend was six hours late to a screen test, which might explain director Kenneth Branagh’s sudden frustration with the Irish actor.

Rene Russo has joined the cast of Marvel’s Thor, directed by Kenneth Branagh. The comic book movie starts shooting this January for release May 20, 2011.
She is set to play Frigga, the wife of Odin (Anthony Hopkins), the Queen of Asgard, and the mommy of the titular character (Chris Hemsworth). I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this is one hell of a cast. Even the supporting roles have named actors and actresses filling them.
Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Natalie Portman (Jane Foster), Jamie Alexander (Sif), Kat Dennings (Marcy), Ray Stevenson (Volstagg), Stuart Townsend (Fandral), Tadanobu Asano (Hogun), Colm Feore, and Stellan Skarsgard.
I can’t imagine Frigga will be snatching too much screen time, but just knowing Russo is playing her is comforting. Like a warm hug from… Rene Russo.

Last month, Zachary Levi revealed that the additional episodes added to the third season of “Chuck” cost him the opportunity to appear in director Kenneth Branagh ‘s adaptation of “Thor” as Fandral — a member of the Warriors Three. And while the role was ultimately filled by Stuart Townsend, Levi recently voiced his regret over missing his chance to appear in the movie.

Kat Dennings is joining the cast of Marvel’s Thor, another positive addition to an already stellar line-up.

Idris Elba is joining the cast of Marvel’s Thor, which is arguably becoming one of the best comic book ensembles ever. Kenneth Branagh is directing the production, which starts photography in January 2010 for a May 20, 2011 release.

Another day, another cast member for Kenneth Branagh's Marvel Comics blockbuster Thor. Earlier this week: The Warriors Three (Stuart Townsend, Ray Stevenson and Tadanobu Asano). Today: Heimdall, who'll be played by The Wire and The Office (Us) star Idris Elba.Heimdall is the brother of Sif (Jamie Alexander) and the guardian of Asgard, who stands sentry on the "rainbow bridge" Bifrost, the only way in or out of Chez Odin. He's super-strong and super-fast, and has super-senses that allow him to hear Earth from Asgard (and indeed "to detect the fluttering of a butterfly's wings a thousand worlds away"). He wears excellent armour, and likes an edged weapon, especially his enchanted sword that allows him to assume mortal form.Weirdly, for someone on the same side, he's given to battling Thor. Idris Elba -- who starred in last year's RocknRolla and in last season of The Office -- has joined the Marvel Studios production of Thor, says Heat Vision. Elba will play Heimdall, the guardian of Asgard, who stands on the BiFrost Bridge ready to defend the city from intruders. For ages, he stood as the guardian of Asgard, defending the city's gates from any intruders, and was one of the most trusted servants of Odin. Heimdall is a character in the comics who battled Thor on many occasions, often battling Thor in order to restrain him at the behest of either Odin or Loki. So if we're lucky, we might get to see Elba kick some ass against Chris Hemsworth. In my mind, the more ass-kicking, the better. Asano ("Mongol") plays Hogun the Grim. Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Jamie Alexander, Colm Feore and Stellan Skarsgård also star. Ray Stevenson (Punisher: War Zone), Stuart Townsend (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen), and Tadanobu Asano (Mongol) are set to play the Warriors Three in Marvel’s Thor, directed by Kenneth Branagh.
The Warriors Three are a team of Asgardian gods that play a supporting role to Thor, the God of Thunder. According to Variety, Townsend will play Fandral the Dashing, a dashing swordsman Stan Lee based on Errol Flynn. Stevenson is set as Volstagg the Valiant, an obese warrior with superhuman strength based on the William Shakespeare character Falstaff. Asano is Hogun the Grim, a maceman with a resistance to physical injury based on the characters of actor Charles Bronson.
I’m not particularly familiar with Townsend, but Stevenson was excellent in “Rome” before he tried to make it with another awful Punisher pic and Asano was brilliant in the epic Mongol, something you should check out if you enjoyed Braveheart.

Throw any rumors you have heard aside, Marvel News has announced the casting for Thor’s Warriors Three.
The trio of Asgardian warriors, created by Marvel and not actually a part of Norse mythology, will be portrayed by actors Stuart Townsend (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen), Ray Stevenson (Rome, The Punisher: War Zone), and Tadanobu Asano (Mongol).

Asano will be making his English language film debut by playing Hogun the Grim. I loved him in Mongol and I loved him in Zatoichi (The Blind Swordsman), so here’s to hoping we all love him in Thor!

It has been almost exactly a year and a half since Marvel first announced that they would developing an Avengers movie, as well as solo movies for all the members. A few months later, Kenneth Branagh signed on to direct Thor. In the 14 months since, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Jamie Alexander, Colm Feore, Stellan Skarsgård and, most recently, Anthony Hopkins have all joined the cast, some as heroes, some as villains and some in roles that remain a mystery. Now it is being reported that, after 20 months of pre-production, the filming of Thor is ready to begin. On Twitter, Production Weekly has announced that the film will begin production mid-January in Los Angeles, before moving to Santa Fe for shooting during March and April.
