- Sean has been and continues to be involved in many charities, including the American Cancer Society, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, the Leukemia Society of America, and the Special Olympics. Sean was The New York Giants' 1989 recipient of the Ed Block Courage Award.
- The only NFL punter to record a 42.0-yard-plus average in 18 different seasons. Sean was originally drafted by Philadelphia in 14th round (161st overall) of 1983 USFL Draft.
- He is the longest tenured punter in NFL history. He is the NFL's all-time leading punter with 1,327 career punts and also leads NFL with most career punting yardage (57,491) and highest average for over 1,000 punts (43.3).
- Led the NFL in Punting Average (44.8) in 1994.
- Retired from The NFL after 21 seasons and is living in St. Louis. (August 2005)
