Showtime is hanging up its gloves.
After 37 years of boxing action, Showtime Sports has signed off for the final time. Paramount Global confirmed in October that the network’s sports operation will be dissolved by the end of the year, with future sports programming falling under the CBS Sports banner. Sports chief Stephen Espinoza and his team will depart at the end of the year.
Now Showtime Boxing’s four decades chronicling the sport, the athletes involved and some of its greatest bouts has been documented in End of an Era, a 38-minute special produced by multi-time Emmy-winner Sam Shouvlin and Emmy-nominated All Access director Nick Manning.
Among those bouts are “Marvelous” Marvin Hagler’s defeat of John “The Beast” Mugabi, both of Mike Tyson’s epic battles with Razor Ruddock, Evander Holyfield bouts with Buster Douglas and Michael Morrer, Tyson-Holyfield I and II, Pernell Whitaker vs. Julio César Chávez,...

A League of Their Own is looking like a rather healthy panel show. The Sky1 sports palaver has wormed its way well and truly into viewers' hearts, and it's now back for another series with James Corden, Jack Whitehall, Freddie Flintoff and Jamie Redknapp.
We sat down with the guys to find out what we can expect from the new series, whether James is quitting for the Us, and whether we'll see Neil Ruddock in pants again (what do you think?) Read on for all the gossip...
1. They're all happy to be back.
"This is the series I've enjoyed the most," James said. "I just think the shows we've done have been really good. I said to my wife the other day, 'I'm enjoying this so much it shouldn't be allowed to be called work'. That's the absolute truth. I think we've done some really fun things and good guests.

Tinchy Strider, Gemma Collins, Melanie Sykes and Michael Buerk (What?) were all confirmed to be taking part in I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! this afternoon.
But in a few years, will we even remember them? Unless they pull some Paul Burrell or Gillian McKeith-style stunts, frankly it's unlikely.
Why? Because we completely forgot these 9 big names have been there, done that and swallowed the testicles…
9. Neil Ruddock
Long after Razor stopped playing for Liverpool, but before he was taking part in Celebrity Big Brother, we forgot that he came seventh on the ITV show. He also 'starred' in a recent episode of C5's Can't Pay? We'll Take it Away, in which he had his stuff respossessed by bailiffs. So, unlike most celebs, the jungle didn't prove to be the lowest point in Neil's career.
8. Nigel Havers
Havers was the Buerk of his day. Not just literally,...

The stars of A League of Their Own join forces with Jersey Boys for a rousing sing-along on this week's show.
James Corden, Jamie Redknapp, Freddie Flintoff and Jack Whitehall put on the red blazers and sung their hearts out to 'December 1963 (Oh What A Night)' - they're not half bad, you know!
And we suspect Redknapp enjoyed it a fair bit more than Neil Ruddock's lap dance earlier this year.
See the boys perform on Sky1's A League of Their Own tonight (October 17) at 9pm.
Corden revealed on last week's show how he was rejected by Pixie Lott after asking her out.

A League of Their Own is back tonight (August 29) and we're looking forward to seeing our favourite sports stars doing ridiculous things again - hooray! To celebrate the return of the show, we headed out to Elstree to hang out backstage with the boys - James Corden, Jack Whitehall, Jamie Redknapp and Freddie Flintoff - while they prepared for another show.
As well as making the frankly ridiculous decision to take on one of the endgames - we're not going to go into it, we're still cringing (and a little bit in pain) - we got the guys together for a bit of a chat, and found out what they had to say about some burning questions we have...

They then take on the infamous invention test - which for the first time allows them to choose between two boxes of ingredients, one sweet and one savoury - before facing the prospect of elimination.

Love them or hate them (although they claim you all love them), there's no denying that Heidi and Spencer Pratt made this year's series of Celebrity Big Brother a major talking point, and they've been snatching up column inches ever since.
In an interview with Digital Spy packed full of typically outrageous quotes, the reality TV gods discussed upcoming special Speidi: Scandal, Secrets & Surgery! ("It was us against the world"), their fear of being murdered in the CBB house ("If there was more alcohol, we'd be dead for sure"), rumours of their own reality show ("There definitely have been talks") and their love for the UK ("It was the first time [we] enjoyed being famous")...
First things first, Heidi, did you sort out your hair emergency?
Heidi: "Yeah, absolutely. I was euphoric. I couldn't believe it was happening, it was one of the best moments of my life."
Glad to hear it.

Gillian Taylforth has explained her quietness in Celebrity Big Brother by saying she was wary of getting on people's nerves. The contestant was speaking to Brian Dowling after becoming the series's fourth evictee. Asked why she thought she had lost out in the vote against all the other housemates, she laughed and said: "Obviously I'm not that popular!" Questioned on whether she felt resentment towards Ryan Moloney and Neil Ruddock for making all the housemates eligible for eviction, Gillian initially joked: "Yes I do! Wait till I see them."
