In 2047, 29 years after the events of the original Iron Sky, young Obi (Lara Rossi), the daughter of Renate (Julia Dietze) and the now deceased James Washington (Christopher Kirby in the first film), is one of the few persons who’s trying to do something about the fact that the Moon is now a very troubled place. While the Nazis are long gone, the Moon suffers from overpopulation, social inequality, health issues, constant quakes, and even from a dominant and privileged religious cult that worships Steve Jobs. When a spaceship strangely arrives from Earth, even if everybody thought life there was nonexistent, things in Timo Vuorensola’s Iron Sky: The Coming Race...

"Let's make Earth great again!" Vertical Entertainment has released a new official Us trailer and a poster for the long-awaited, delayed-for-years sci-fi sequel Iron Sky: The Coming Race, which has been in the works since 2014. This film was released in Europe earlier in the year, and we posted two trailers back then for its initial debut. It's now opening in the Us in July, for those who still want to catch up with it. The plot is just as absurd as the first Iron Sky - the Nazis are back after lying dormant in a secret base on the Moon, now they're attacking with an army of ancient shapeshifting reptilians riding dinosaurs. Madness. Starring Julia Dietze, Götz Otto, Christopher Kirby, Tilo Brückner, Peta Sergeant, Stephanie Paul, and Udo Kier. This is one of those films that you know is going to be terrible, but you also just have to see it for yourself.

Iron Sky: The Coming Race is the long-anticipated and multi delayed eight-year follow up to its original predecessor released in 2011. Once again directed by Timo Vuorensola, Iron Sky: The Coming Race follows a group of space Nazis as they try and survive on the lunar base after a nuclear war has devastated earth, but with another distinct twist we’re now introduced to the Vril, who have been living inside the hollow earth since the dawn of time for chaos and absurdity to ensue.

In this baffling sci-fi fantasy sequel, a rag-tag crew of adventurers encounter dinosaurs and reptilian Nazis at the centre of the Earth
Never has the concept of “one for the diehard fans” been so applicable as it is to Timo Vuorensola’s scattershot, stakes-free, self-consciously wacky space comedy. Its existence is baffling until you realise that this sequel to a 2012 sci-fi yarn about Nazis on the moon was entirely crowdfunded.
The Coming Race kicks off in 2047. Earth has been destroyed by nuclear war and the thousand or so human survivors have relocated to a former Nazi base on the moon. They are led nominally by the ailing, regal Renate (Julia Dietze) but her daughter, plucky narrator-heroine Obi (Lara Rossi), is the one who’s really in charge. (Her Star Wars nod of a name is one of many gratuitous hat-tips to better and more successful cultural properties.)...

Sneak Peek the satirical horror thriller "Iron Sky: The Coming Race", directed by Timo Vuorensola, as the sequel to Vuorensola's "Iron Sky" (2012), inspired by the 'Vril' conspiracy theory, opening internationally, January 16, 2019 :
"...20 years after a nuclear war, Earth has become an inhospitable place. Survivors rally together on a former 'Third Reich' moon base. Over the years a large human colony has formed, with its own fascist government and religions, including the 'Jobists', a cult that formed around the teachings of 'Steve Jobs' and their leader (Tom Green).
"But the aging base is deteriorating and due to the damage the moon received in the nuclear war, its time is running out. 'Obi Washington' (Lara Rossi), the daughter of 'Renate Richter' (Julia Dietze), discovers there may be other survivors hidden in an underground city at the center of the earth.

Hitler is on a dinosaur in the first trailer for Iron Sky 2…
The first Iron Sky movie arrived in 2012, off the back of a six year development period. It was fuelled heavily by fandom, with the makers of the film working closely with its potential audience through the making of the movie. Eventually, it reached the finish line, although its UK release spluttered, off the back of the decision to give it just one day in British cinemas. It took a fan backlash to do something about that.
Still, it’s a movie firmly classed as a cult one, with reviews not on the happy side generally. But still, it did enough business to warrant a sequel. Which is what brings us all together today.

Iron Sky: The Coming Race has been in development for years! The first two trailers were released back in 2014, but now we have another awesomely ridiculous trailer for you to watch and enjoy. This epic sci-fi adventure features a reptilian Hitler riding a freakin' T-Rex! In the story, he leads a shapeshifting reptilian race and their army of dinosaurs. There's also some fun-looking space battle sequences. The movie looks so over-the-top and it may end up being a bad movie, but it still looks like it's going to be a wild and strange ride! Here's the synopsis, which is completely bonkers:
Twenty years after the events of Iron Sky, the former Nazi Moonbase has become the last refuge of mankind. Earth was devastated by a nuclear war but buried deep under the wasteland lies a power that could save the last of humanity – or destroy it once and for all.

Nearly $150k raised by offering roles in the feature.
Finnish-German science fiction film Iron Sky: The Coming Race has completed its latest crowdfunding campaign, raising more than $500,000 on IndieGoGo.
More than 7,000 fans from 75 countries took part in the campaign.

The main source of funds in the campaign came from the offer of extra roles, which raised nearly $150,000 of the total amount from more than 300 fans. Parts ranged from citizens of a Moonbase to being eaten by a dinosaur, costing from $200 to $5,000.

Seasoned actor Danny Trejo has reinvented himself as the titular role in the Machete franchise, a series of films that ridicule B-movie, action flicks. However, despite evidently aware of the flaws and limitations of the genre, he’s now turned up in Nick Lyon’s Bullet, a film that is identical to those of which are being mocked in the aforementioned parody series.
When a dangerous criminal is on the verge of being executed by the death penalty, his father Carlito Kane (Jonathan Banks) is determined to put a stop to it – and so sets his sights on the law enforcer who arrested his son in the first place, which happens to be Frank Marasco (Trejo), a tough, uncompromising cop affectionately known as Bullet. With his trusty henchman Kruger (Torsten Voges) by his side, Kane kidnaps Bullet’s grandson, in the attempt to blackmail the cop – who has other plans up his sleeve.

The awesome Finnish genre festival Night Visions took place last weekend, during which Empire grabbed the opportunity to quiz director Timo Vuorensola on his in-development Iron Sky sequel The Coming Race. What can we expect from the follow-up to a film about Nazis on the moon? "Adolf Hitler riding a dinosaur in the centre of the Earth!" laughs Timo. "That's an image to etch in your brain." Yes, it is.If you're new here, Iron Sky is probably pretty much exactly what you'd expect a film about Moon Nazis starring Udo Kier to be, although the sort of Strangelove tonal shift later on comes as something of a surprise. Kier is back for the second part ("I made sure I didn't die in the first one," he told us), as is Julia Dietze. And while a return to the moon is on the cards, Vuorensola also promises a lot more this time.

*spoiler alert! Director: Timo Vuorensola. Writers: Johanna Sinisalo (original story), Jarmo Puskala, Michael Kalesniko, and Timo Vuorensola. Cast: Julia Dietze, Christopher Kirby and Götz Otto. Nazis have fled to space! Who would have thunk it? In the movie Iron Sky, the last remaining survivors from this regiment fled to the dark side of the moon and spent the last 70 or so years plotting to take over Earth again. But nobody told them that World War II is over and life has gone forwards ... or maybe not. But now they want to come back, with no thanks to astronaut James Washington (Christopher Kirby). He found their moon base and that does not bode well for humanity. When this space explorer gets captured, the Nazi's plans are accelerated. That leads to some humourous nods to B movie culture and retro-a-go-go. The music is what sells this product. The driving magic by Slovenian...

Every once in a while, a film is released with such a ludicrous premise that you simply have to take note and Iron Sky is such a film. It is set at the end of WWII and follows various high-ranking Nazi officials setting up a well-equipped (and very smartly polished and decked-out) base on the moon. Jump forward to 2018 where the President of the United States (Stephanie Paul), a Sarah Palin lookalike, is up for re-election and to help her campaign, has Nasa send leaves astronaut/ male model James Washington (the charismatic and amusing Christopher Kirby) Nasa to the moon for their first landing in decades (her campaign poster reads: ‘Black to Space: Yes She Can’.). This leaves Washington at the mercy of the followers of the so called ‘Fourth Reich’. The Nazi brass, including Moon Fuehrer Wolfgang Kortzfleiche (cult legend Udo Kier), and his protoge-turned-rival Klaus Adler (Gatz Otto...

Let the Meteorblitzkrieg begin!
Iron Sky is finally here! Director Timo Vuorensola’s Finnish-German-Australian science fiction comedy, six years in the making, represents a collaborative approach from conception to marketing. Iron Sky milked the Internet for all it’s worth, building up a community of artists and fans who got involved one way or another including the kicking in of much of the film’s funding (these deep-pocket collaborators are listed in the credits). In a happy ending for dreamers everywhere, the result is a genuine success story for what is, after all, a small movie with a tighter-than-tight budget. But while the budget was necessarily low, the filmmaker’s ambition is unmistakably high and Iron Sky looks like a film that cost many many times its actual budget. If you enjoy your sci-fi with some satire and count Brazil, Dr. Strangelove, and Mars Attacks among your faves, do not...

Udo Kier has worked with the likes of Lars Von Trier, Gus Van Sant, and Rob Zombie. He’s portrayed Dracula (and assorted other vamps), Hitler, and Jekyll and is still going strong after over three decades of acting, his latest role being in Nazis-on-the-moon horror-comedy Iron Sky.
Some would say it’s his piercing blue eyes and thick accent that cement Kier’s presence as deliciously memorable regardless of the size of the part. I would also say it's his unique presence, the way he moves with such elegance and a dash of old world, unearthly sexuality and a twinkle of humor.
This time around we find Kier on the dark side of the moon playing Nazi leader Wolfgang Kortzfleisch. The movie takes place in 2018, in a world with a political landscape much like our own, filled with propaganda, global infighting, and a race for new fuel. Little does...

I guess even schlocky sci-fi counts as sci-fi, right? Anyways, here’s the latest U.S. trailer for director Timo Vuorensola’s “Iron Sky”, which dares to posit the question, “What would happen if Nazis, who have been living on the moon for the last 70 years, decided to launch a new invasion of Earth?” Apparently a Sarah Palin clone saves the day, though I’m sure that won’t prevent the film from mocking her to death in the process anyway. In the last moments of World War II, a secret Nazi space program evaded destruction by fleeing to the Dark Side of the Moon. We've seen about four trailers for the sci-fi moon Nazi invasion film Iron Sky. This movie sounded really cool at first, I loved the initial concept, and liked the first couple of teaser trailers. I'm not sure if the comedy aspect they've thrown into it will work. I hoped the film would have more of a serious tone, like what we saw in the first couple of teaser trailers. There are movie situations like this where serious is funnier than comedy. I hope the movie turns out to be good though! I'm rooting for it.

Iron Sky is ludicrous, trashy, and downright offensive at times...and it joyfully delights in all these things to hilarious effect. For a taste of the Finnish film’s tone, one need only consult its tag-line, one of the greatest ever committed to a poster: “In 1945, Nazis went to the moon; in 2018, they’re coming back.”
If every gag in the film was as funny as that, we would have a masterpiece on our hands and it would be a tragedy that it’s only in cinemas for a week. As things stand though, it’s very funny but flawed. Likely available on DVD by the time you read this, it’s more than worth checking out, not least because the dodgy CGI and acting won’t seem quite so preposterous when downsized to a TV set.
So the year is 2018. Sarah Palin is in the Whitehouse and to boost...

When you hear “Space Nazis,” certain episodes of Star Trek come into mind. A popular theme in works of science fiction, it is a phrase coined with the idea of Nazis settling on the Moon after their defeat in World War II, not to mention it being a popular conspiracy theory.
Iron Sky is the latest reimagining of this theory.
The film is set in 2018. James Washington (Christopher Kirkby), a black male model, is sent to the Moon in a bid to help the President (Stephanie Paul) be re-elected. He is captured by the Nazis, who have been based on the dark side of the moon since 1945, and subsequently becomes involved in their plan to invade and rule Earth.

Moon Nazis are coming. Yes, that’s right; Nazis from the moon will be invading select UK cinemas from Wednesday 23rd May. That is the premise, at least, of Iron Sky, a partially fan-funded space-war b-movie that is every bit as absurd as it sounds. When the initial directorial choice, Terrence Malick, dropped out of the project over “creative differences” Finnish black metal singer Timo Vuorensola stepped in to take the reins. The outcome is a film as daft and factually questionable as the previous sentence, but enjoyable enough in its own silly way.
Though last summer Michael Bay theorised that the dark side of the moon concealed a gigantic transforming robot, Iron Sky reveals the far more obvious, logical truth: with their plans...

Iron Sky offers up an intriguing Nazis on the Moon concept, but can it live up to its batty premise? James finds out...
For the last few years there’s been something of a buzz building around the Finnish/German/Australian co-production, Iron Sky. Famously pitched to investors at Cannes in 2008 off the back of an impressive VFX demo reel, director Timo Vuorensola’s sci-fi comedy about Nazis on the Moon finally went into production in late 2010.
With the addition of cult movie icon Udo Kier to the cast and several strong early trailers, anticipation was high that the finished film just might deliver on its gloriously bonkers premise. Unfortunately, that doesn’t really happen and - despite its strong high concept - Iron Sky never seems entirely sure of what type of film it’s trying to be.

If you're excited to see see moon Nazis invade earth, here's the first four minutes of the sci-fi film Iron Sky. The clip shows a lunar expedition that surprisingly comes across a massive Nazi base on the moon. From what I've seen in previous trailer, the movie looks like a lot of fun. The film recently screened at SXSW, and unfortunately the reviews I've seen haven't been kind. As outrageous and crazy this film looks like it could be, according to some of the reviews I've read, it doesn't take it to the level of lunacy that it should. I'll still give the film a chance, as the premise is so ridiculous.
Here's the story breakdown:
Towards the end of World War II the Nazi scientists made a significant breakthrough in anti-gravity. From a secret base built in the Antarctic, the first Nazi spaceships were launched in late ‘45 to found...

If moon Nazis were people, they’d be old men sitting on their porch yelling at kids to stay off their lawn while waving their double-barrel shotgun around in the air. Here’s the first 5 minutes from director Timo Vuorensola’s delightfully ridiculous looking movie “Iron Sky”, which recently made its North American premiere at SXSW down there in Austin aways. World War II did not end with complete defeat for the Nazis – some of them managed to utilize their secret technologies to flee to the dark side of the Moon. There, deep within their swastika fortress, Schwarze Sonne, they have plotted the reconquest of the Earth for over 70 years. In 2018, the flagship of their space armada, the gigantic Götterdämmerung, is nearing completion, but when the next American crewed moon mission lands too close to the Nazi base for comfort, the plans are rushed forward. Starring Udo Kier, Kym Jackson,...

In the wake of the 2012 Berlin Film Festival, THR has just reported that the “Finnish Nazis-from-space” film, Iron Sky, will get a U.S. premiere this upcoming weekend at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas. Entertainment One obtained the distributing rights for the film, which had its world premiere at Berlin.
Directed by Timo Vuorensola, the projected actually started online where it obtained crowdsourced financing. It enlisted Internet fans at each stage of production to help design the uniforms for the Nazis in space. It stars Julia Dietze, Gotz Otto, Christopher Kirby and Udo Kier. I haven’t really seen many films that enlist the help of its projected audience, so the whole idea of the film is intriguing. Plus, who doesn’t love the whole concept of Nazis in space?
And if you need more convincing about the film’s plot, its been described as the “Citizen Kane of Nazis-in-Space movies.

Timo Vuorensola's community-generated Nazis-in-space comedy looks impressive, but fails to fulfil fans' hopes
After the big build-up: the crash. Arguably the most anticipated film of this year's Berlinale, the Nazis-in-space comedy Iron Sky turned out to be one giant damp squib. It's not terrible, by any means: just not nearly as funny or cruel as its killer premise suggests. The poster tagline, one of the all-time greats, bears repeating: "In 1945, the Nazis went to the moon. In 2018, they are coming back." But Finnish director Timo Vuorensola and producer Samuli Torssonen simply don't deliver.
Vuorensola and Torssonen have been considerably buoyed up during the six-year production period for Iron Sky by a large online community, cultivated since the early 90s when Torssonen began offering up a series of Star Trek parodies, which you can still see on YouTube. Iron Sky appears to be a textbook example of how to harness...
