Egot winner John Legend joined “The Voice” coaching panel in its 16th season, quickly becoming an attractive option to hopeful winners. The R&b crooner proved to be a powerhouse negotiator when it came to recruiting contestants with four-chair turns, bagging three in his first season including the eventual champion Maelyn Jarmon. But with just one blind audition episode remaining in Season 20, Team Legend has yet to recruit a single four-chair artist. Has Team Legend lost its mojo? Or will the coach come roaring back on Monday’s episode?
With the blind auditions winding down, Kelly Clarkson is out front with two four-chair artists: 22-year old country singer Kenzie Wheeler (for whom she successfully blocked Blake Shelton) and 20-year old pop artist Anna Grace. Nick Jonas snagged 21-year old Zae Romeo and Shelton won over 20-year old country crooner Avery Roberson.

With The Voice’s Season 17 Battles fast approaching — they start in the second half of the Monday, Oct. 14, episode — Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Gwen Stefani worked to complete their teams Monday. Looking over their rosters ahead of Night 5 of the Blind Auditions, I’d have given the edge to reigning champ John, whose sophomore-season lineup included three singers who really seemed to make an impression on the audience (Katie Kadan, Mendeleyev and Preston C. Howell). Of course, any of them could fall apart in the Battles. And new frontrunners could have emerged Monday. But did they? Let’s review the performances,...

Adam Levine‘s disastrous, much-derided performance at the NBC Upfronts presentation on May 13 was foreshadowed the day prior on Universal’s Stage 12 — aka home of The Voice. The singing competition was pre-tapingSeason 16’s Semifinals on a Sunday vs. airing live on Monday because Levine and fellow coaches Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton and John Legend were due at the aforementioned event in New York the next day.
By all accounts, Levine did not want to attend that Sunday taping. As one source tells TVLine, the Maroon 5 frontman expressed frustration beforehand at having to be present when, at that point, he had...

Hey, "The Voice" fans. Tonight, May 21, 2019, was indeed the night that the 16th season of The Voice came to an end, and a winner was crowned. It came down to the final 4 contestants: Maelyn Jarmon, Gyth Rigdon, Dexter Roberts and Andrew Sevener. Of course, all the four coaches/judges: Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend were on hand. Tonight's Live finale results show kicked off with Andrew Sevener and Travis Tritt hitting up the stage to sing the song, "Trouble." Right after that, the Jonas Brothers hopped on stage to perform their new single called, "Cool." Shortly after that, Khalid who was an advisor this season for Team John Legend, hit the stage to sing a song called, "Talk." Next, Mari and Kim Cherry performed a duet together. They sang, "Good As Hell" by Lizzo. After they finished up, Jej Vinson, Shawn Sounds, Lb Crew, Domenic Haynes...

Maelyn Jarmon or Dexter Roberts, Dexter Roberts or Maelyn Jarmon. Ahead of Tuesday’s Season 16 finale of The Voice, that was the pair that it felt like it had all come down to.
My heart was with Team Legend’s Maelyn. Since as far back as the Blind Auditions, she’d given one beautiful performance after another (after another after another). And her rendition of “Hallelujah” Monday had actually made me cry — and I never cry when recapping. Well, unless the Internet cuts out right as I’m trying to post the story!

Is a long-standing “The Voice” curse about to be broken? If Blake Shelton‘s country singer Andrew Sevener ends up winning Season 16 during Tuesday’s finale, he’ll make history as the first artist to prevail who was previously saved by Twitter. Amazingly, since the Instant Save twist was first enacted back in Season 6, no recipient has ever gone on to win “The Voice.” Britton Buchanan came the closest in Season 14 by being the runner-up to winner Brynn Cartelli, but all of the other times — including last season with Kennedy Holmes — the saved artist finishes last in their respective finales.

Gyth Rigdon is coming on strong to win “The Voice” on Tuesday, according to our updated poll of viewers. He has narrowed the gap with the frontrunner, Maelyn Jarmon. While she is still ahead by 19 points (53 – 34), that is down from last week.
In the days since the Top 4 were revealed on last Tuesday’s results show, Maelyn, who is the lone artist on Team John Legend, has racked up the most votes from viewers. Indeed, she has more support from fans than Gyth and the other two Blake Shelton boys (Dexter Roberts and Andrew Sevener) combined.
Who do you want to win season 16 of “The Voice” on May 21? Are you rooting for Maelyn, who would be the first winner for the rookie coach John. Or do you want Gyth to bring Blake his seventh victory? Perhaps you prefer Dexter, who has 10% of the vote as of this writing. The fourth artist,...

The four finalists for Season 16 of “The Voice” will perform live for America’s vote one last time on Monday, May 20, before the winner is crowned on Tuesday, May 21. Coach Blake Shelton has dominated the season with three of his artists, Gyth Rigdon, Dexter Roberts and Andrew Sevener all competing in the finale. Coach John Legend has one artist singing for the title in Maelyn Jarmon. Two-time defending champion Kelly Clarkson is without a finalist for the first time since she joined the show and three-time coaching champ Adam Levine has been out of contention since the Top 8. Below we rank each of the four finalists based on their likelihood of winning.

On the May 13 episode of “The Voice,” the Top 8 sang one song apiece and then did duets with each other on hits from The Beatles back catalog. On Tuesday, three of the artists earned spots in the Top 4 based on the popular vote: Maelyn Jarmon from Team John Legend and two of Blake Shelton‘s boys: Gyth Rigdon and Dexter Roberts. The final slot went to another of Blake’s acts, Andrew Sevener, after he won the Instant Save.
We asked for your predictions as to which of the four finalists will go all the way to win season 16 on May 21. “The Voice” fans remain divided between two of the artists: Maelyn has 52% of the viewers’ vote as of this writing and Gyth is at 35%. Last week, she was only ahead of him by just 4 points (35 – 31). She has picked up far more of the supporters of the four acts that were axed.

On Tuesday’s edition of “The Voice,” the middle three vote getters among the Top 8 artists were Andrew Sevener from Team Blake Shelton, Shawn Sounds from Team John Legend and Kelly Clarkson‘s last act, Rod Stokes. Each had to sing one more song to try and send enough viewers to Twitter to earn the Instant Save.
While Andrew won with the social media crowd, other fans of the show were less enthusiastic and said he didn’t deserve to move forward in the competition. By a margin of 54% to 46%, “The Voice” viewers preferred the performance by one of the other two contenders for the last slot in the Top 4.
Shawn garnered 39% support while Rod racked up 15% of the total tally as of this writing. Perhaps the fact that Andrew sang first helped him in the public vote.

On the May 14 live results show of “The Voice,” the middle three vote getters among the Top 8 artists were, as we predicted: Andrew Sevener from Team Blake Shelton, Shawn Sounds from Team John Legend and Kelly Clarkson‘s lone artist, Rod Stokes. That meant these three fellows had to compete in the Instant Save.
Each had to sing one more song to try and win votes cast by viewers via Twitter to earn the last slot in the Top 4 alongside Maelyn Jarmon, Gyth Rigdon and Dexter Roberts.
Sevener was up first and delivered a haunting rendition of the Lynyrd Skynyrd classic “Simple Man,” which launched the band back in 1973. Up next was Stokes, who made “Brother,” a 2015 chart-topper for Christian rock band Needtobreathe, his own. Sounds closed out the sing-off with a rollicking version of the Bruno Mars #1 hit, “That’s What I Like.”

After the Top 8 artists performed on Monday’s episode of “The Voice,” they now await their fate on Tuesday’s results show. Four will move on to next week’s finale for Season 16. Four talented singers will unfortunately be eliminated.
For this Top 8, Blake Shelton has an astonishing five of them. It’s possible only one team member goes home and the other four make up the Top 4 finale. More likely, however, is that Kelly Clarkson and/or John Legend will have someone also in the finale. Coach Adam Levine is done for this season.
For tonight’s one-hour episode hosted by Carson Daly, here’s how the competition will work:
Three contenders will automatically advance forward through public voting. Two will immediately be eliminated on this show. Three will perform for an Instant Save on social media, with just one joining the Top 4 finale next week.

Hey, The Voice fans. Tonight, May 13, 2019, the top 8 contestants surely did perform for America's vote. They performed both solos and duets this time. Of course, all the coaches: Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton were on hand. Only four contestants will move on after tomorrow's night's results show. So, this was a big night. Tonight's performances show was previously taped. So, it wasn't Live. Andrew Sevener from Team Blake kicked off the performances by singing, "Long Haired Country Boy." Afterwards, Kelly said, "I feel like I was at a concert. I could tell what your record would sound like. A Cool rocked out version." John said, "You owned the song and the stage." Adam said, "It was your best performance." Blake just said, "Wow, I don't know where that came from, but it’s good that just happened at this moment. You represent what country fans love.

As The Voice’s Top 8 headed for the stage Monday night, I couldn’t help but think what a weird, weird finale we seemed to be headed for. Not only was Adam Levine’s entire team out of the competition (poor Mari), but Blake Shelton’s team was still five members strong. Now I’m no math whiz, but that suggested to me that it was going to be almost impossible for him to lose Season 16. He basically had five lottery tickets to Adam’s zero, Kelly Clarkson’s one and John Legend’s two.

“The Voice” Top 8 take to the stage on Monday May 13 to sing for America’s votes. We asked viewers of “The Voice” to weigh in with their predictions as to which four of these artists will number among the eliminations this week. The results are clear with four contestants — Kim Cherry, Andrew Sevener, Shawn Sounds and Rod Stokes — each registering low single digit support as of this writing.
Of the four most in danger of being eliminated, two (Andrew and Kim) are on Team Blake Shelton. But even if they are eliminated as we predict, Blake will still count three artists in the Top 4. Blake has won six of the first 15 seasons of the show.
Shawn is one of two artists under the guidance of rookie coach John Legend. Should Shawn leave as we expect, this Egot champ would bring Maelyn Jarmon to the final four. Conversely, Rod is the...

In advance of the Top 8 performing on May 13, we polled viewers of “The Voice” to see who they want to win season 16. Their first choice in our best to work power rankings is Maelyn Jarmon, who has racked up an impressive 35% of the total tally as of this writing. She is being coached by rookie John Legend. Close behind with 31% is Gyth Rigdon, who is on Team Blake Shelton. A win by him would bring Blake that long-elusive seventh victory on the show. None of the other six artists still in the competition merit double digit support.
Of Blake’s four other finalists, the highest scoring is Dexter Roberts with 8%, followed closely by Kim Cherry with 7% and Carter Lloyd Horne at 5%. The Top 8 artists for Season 16 of “The Voice” will compete in the Semifinals for America’s votes on Monday, May 13. On this week’s results show, three-time champion Adam Levine lost his two remaining artists, leaving his team without a potential finalist for the third straight season. Two-time reigning champion Kelly Clarkson has one artist still in the running, while newcomer John Legend has two and six-time champion Blake Shelton has a whopping five.
For Blake that means at least one of his artists will not make the Season 16 Finals, but it also means he could have all four finalist spots from his team (would be a series first). Which of his artists is most likely to get the chop? Will it be Kim Cherry, the rapper-singer from Florida who bested two Team Adam artists in last week’s Instant Save? After the shocking Top 13 results were revealed on Tuesday’s episode of “The Voice,” only eight artists remain in contention to win season 16. Of the four coaches, Blake Shelton has five artists still in the running while the other veteran of the show, Adam Levine, was reduced to none and must sit on the sidelines for the rest of the season. Rookie coach John Legend still has two artists in the hunt. And reigning two-time champ Kelly Clarkson has only one artist left who could make it three wins in a row for her.

Team Blake Shelton entered the Top 13 of “The Voice” Season 16 with a whopping six artists, and amazingly all but one — Oliv Blu — advanced to the next round during Tuesday’s results show. Carter Lloyd Horne, Gyth Rigdon, Dexter Roberts and Andrew Sevener all made it through based on America’s overnight vote, while Kim Cherry won the Twitter Instant Save. That means Blake’s team now makes up five of the final eight artists, a truly impressive feat for the most winningest coach in “The Voice” history.

Hey, "The Voice" fans. Tonight, May 7, 2019 was the big night where we found out who survived this week to move on to the top 8. That's right, guys. Five contestants were indeed eliminated tonight, and we're about to go over how it all went down because it wasn't so straight forward. Apparently, three singers had to participate in a sing-off and so on and so forth. You know how The Voice does it. They're always trying to keep things confusing. I mean fresh. Anyways, with that said, all the judges/coaches: Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend were, of course, on hand. To get things started, they revealed that Maelyn Jarmon was the most streamed artist out of last night's performances. After that, host Carson Daly got right down to business. He revealed that Maelyn Jarmon from Team John Legend and Dexter Roberts from Team Blake were safe...

As The Voice sped toward Season 16’s semifinals Tuesday, five — count ’em, five — more singers were given the chop. Based on Monday’s performances by the Top 13, historical indicators and TVLine’s poll that followed our recap, I figured the departing quintet would be: Team Blake’s Oliv Blu, whose vocals haven’t been on par with her styling; Team Adam’s Lb Crew, whose voice failed him when he reached for a high note; Team Blake’s Kim Cherry, whose enthusiastic rapping always seemed unlikely to strike a chord with The Voice’s country-leaning audience; Team Legend’s Celia Babini,...

On Monday’s episode of “The Voice,” the Top 13 artists coached by Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton performed. The goal for each contestant was to make it into the top 10 on Apple Music/iTunes by Tuesday at noon Et so that they reaped the benefit of a five-times vote multiplier.
We can report that Maelyn Jarmon from Team John Legend registered enough sales to have earned this bonus for her performance of “The Scientist” by Coldplay. She is also still on the charts for her performance on the Top 24 show of “Fallingwater.”
Of Maelyn’s competition, seven other artists made the top 200. Of these, only three cracked the Top 100 of which Gyth Rigdon ranked the highest, coming in at #43 for his rendition of “Nobody But Me” by his coach, Blake Shelton (See the full list of songs and where they ranked below.)

Say what you will about Season 16 of The Voice — and we have! — it’s wound up with a pretty good Top 13. So good, in fact, that when I went to take TVLine’s poll following last week’s bloodbath, I couldn’t pick an eliminated contestant that I would’ve been super mega eager to save. Maybe Team Kelly Clarkson’s Rebecca Howell, but even then, I’d have sooner saved Mikaela Astel, whom Kelly dumped during the Battles in favor of The Bundys.

Monday’s two-hour episode of “The Voice” will showcase the Top 13 singing for America’s votes. As with the Top 24 last week, this round does not see the coaches coming into the show with evenly matched teams. Blake Shelton still has six artists in the competition. The other veteran coach, Adam Levine, has only two as does reigning two-time champ Kelly Clarkson. Rookie coach John Legend counts three artists on his team.

“The Voice” Top 13 take to the stage on Monday May 6 to sing for America’s votes. We asked viewers of “The Voice” to weigh in with their predictions as to which five of these artists will number among the eliminations at the end of the evening. The results are clear with four contestants — Oliv Blu, Andrew Sevener, Shawn Sounds and Rod Stokes — each registering just 1% of the total tally as of this writing. A fifth contender for the season 16 title, Kim Cherry, eked out a mere 2%.

Heading into the Top 13 episode of “The Voice” on May 6, viewers give the edge to Blake Shelton to win season 16. This six-time champ has racked up a whopping 40% of the tally in our poll of “Voice” fans. That strong support isn’t so surprising when you consider that this country music superstar has six of the remaining 13 artists on his team.
Before the Top 24 show on April 29, “Voice” viewers had been backing reigning two-time winning coach Kelly Clarkson to continue her streak. After this Grammy winner was reduced to having just two artists in the Top 13, her support has slipped to 32% as of this writing. Egot champ John Legend may be a rookie coach but 17% of fans think that one of the trio of talents still on his team will take the season 16 title. But only 11% of viewers expect that from one of the two artists on Team Adam Levine.

Team Kelly Clarkson was left with just two contestants as well, Team John Legend had three, and Team Blake Shelton… holy crap, Blake got to keep six vocalists. A massive group of artists will be cut on “The Voice” tonight. The Top 24 of Season 16 performed on Monday evening’s episode, but now half of them will be going home in the matter of 60 minutes of results. They didn't go to the judges for any comments on his performance or any other performances. I'm guessing that's because of time constraints. I mean they had 24 freaking people performing tonight. The Top 24 on season 16 of “The Voice” will each sing for America’s votes on April 29. Each coach — reigning champ Kelly Clarkson, newcomer John Legend, three-time winner Adam Levine and six-time victor Blake Shelton — is fielding a team made up of contestants who survived the first-ever live cross battles.
We wondered which of these four music superstars was the best coach with the strongest team. “The Voice” viewers have voted and their top choice in our poll is Kelly with a whopping 35% of the vote. That isn’t surprising when you consider that this Grammy winner has coached the last two winners of the show (Brynn Cartelli and Chevel Shepherd).
Blake is the pick of just under one in three viewers (32%) to win for a seventh time. Only 18% of “The Voice” fans back the rookie coach John while just 16% expect Adam to finally add a fourth trophy to his mantle.
