Yesterday Johnson Publishing Co announced that Amy DuBois Barnett will become the new Editor-in-chief for the magazine. In an interview yesterday Barnett explained that she intends to broaden the scope of the magazine expanding into different media platforms such as cell phones and iPads and other “on-the-go media.”
She stated that: “It’s impossible to have a one-dimensional media brand. Extending the Ebony brand across many media platforms will be crucial in introducing it to new audiences…Being smart and dedicated doesn’t preclude being stylish and reflecting a more modern aesthetic,”
