After a trip to theaters last month, Bloody Disgusting and Screambox‘s summer camp-themed horror-comedy Shaky Shivers is now streaming on Screambox and VOD platforms.
Fast & Furious actor Sung Kang makes his directorial debut on the creature feature that features stand-out performances from newcomers Brooke Markham and Vyvy Nguyen, as well as practical effects from Gabe Bartalos.
In Shaky Shivers…
“After finding herself bitten by a mysterious animal, Lucy becomes convinced that she will transform into a fearsome werewolf.
“Joined by her best friend Karen, the two embark on a wild adventure filled with magic and mayhem, as they look to do battle with a throat-slashing creature ripped right out of an 80s horror movie.“
Shaky Shivers is written by Andrew McAllister and Aaron Strongoni.
“The whole idea was to make this for the old-school horror hounds and for them to share it with their families today,” said Kang.

Lionsgate dropped the first official trailer for the upcoming psychological horror film 'Fear of Rain' starring 'Clouds' actress Madison Iseman in the lead.
Written and directed by Castille Landon, the film follows Rain Burroughs (played by Iseman), a teenage girl diagnosed with schizophrenia, who constantly struggles with horrifying hallucinations that haunt her.
The trailer is full of creepy imagery that she experiences, beginning with a man chasing her down through a dark forest in the middle of the night.
The official synopsis for 'Fear of Rain' is as follows: "For teenager Rain Burroughs, a diagnosis with schizophrenia means that every day is a struggle as she tries to figure out which of the disturbing images, harrowing voices, and traumatic feelings she experiences are real and which are all in her mind."

Giant Leap Accelerator is doing its part to fight the good fight to bolster diversity and inclusion in Hollywood. The company launched a film and television development program today that will focus on discovering new Asian/Pacific American (APA) stories.
Here’s how it will work: the accelerator will pair writers with industry mentors in packaging marketable projects into production as a means to introduce more Asian American representation to a consumer audience. Giant Leap Accelerator’s curriculum marks the industry’s first paid writing program for new, non-guild APA screenwriters. As an added bonus there is no charge to apply.
The program’s inaugural class will accept seven new APA writers to be assigned to screenwriters or showrunners as industry mentors to help with writing workshops. Over the course of the three-month accelerator program, writers will have support and resources to package their projects, including presentation decks and sizzle reels,...

The occidental ideal of beauty dominates the significant international catwalks and fashion markets that dictate the trends, which consequently impacts the choice of faces for the cover pages of fashion-, sport/ health magazines, and for TV adds and billboards alike. In the Us, white male models are more likely to be booked for a photo shoot than the African-American or the Asian-American, who – according to the fashion photographer Howard Huang, who’s been in the fashion business over 20 years, were not that popular until recently. The so much desired image of “the guy next door” is white in the mind of an average American, which is a paradox considering that there are countless nations and races living and working together all across the United States.

In 2012, New York Knicks point guard, Jeremy Lin, a many times passed-over, oft-rejected benchwarmer became an overnight sensation when he electrified the sports world with his dynamic, record breaking plays. The fact that Lin is Asian-American was a cause for worldwide exultation, as well as racial controversy. Linsanity: The Movie chronicles Lin's hard fight for survival in the NBA and the far-reaching effects of his meteoric fame. Here's my chat with NBA superstar Jeremy Lin, Producer Brian Yang and Director Evan Jackson Leong. Jeremy Lin The Lady Miz Diva: How was the idea of a documentary first put to you? Jeremy Lin: They pitched it when I was in college and I really wasn't comfortable with it. I would say after my rookie year,...

I admit, I've been waiting for this episode ever since I heard rumblings of a Danny centric with an ex-partner bent on revenge back in the fall. This season has seen so little really character centric episodes that didn't get overshadowed by case work (maybe 3 or 4) and Danny's (Scott Caan) time was past due. Plus, this had backstory on our favorite Jersey detective, and that, dear friends, is what wets my appetite. Add to that the fact that Scott Caan and Peter Greene just freaking owned this episode, and you've got the makings of a great Sweeps start. We open with any nervous flyer's worst nightmare: a murder at 30,000 feet. Us Marshal Dave Collins goes into the lavatory and never comes out. His prisoner, a con named Painter, disappears. The poor stewardess is traumatized to find the Marshal stabbed to death in the bathroom. I think the flight should get extra free drinks,...

Double, double toil and trouble… and trouble is exactly what Danny (Scott Caan) will get for taking out his bad evening on the living and the dead. I have a great affinity for holiday episodes because they usually allow the show to step out of the crime-of-the-week box and let the characters shine. Halloween on Hawaii Five-0 (TV) is no different and this episode was a creepily fun romp. Even if I did want to smack Danny a couple of times throughout, he was just being very "Danny-like" after all. This episode was directed by fear master Joe Dante and even in the opening sequence, you can see the marked difference. Instead of the Technicolor vividness of the lush O'ahu surroundings, we get a dark, grey scale shot of a full moon over the mountains. All that's missing is a hound baying on the moors. We also get a couple...

Some really nice character development moments in this episode, which, for the majority of this season so far, have been lacking. It's nice to see a return to Steve and Danny actually working together, which they didn't much last episode, and c'mon, the two of them are why most of us keep tuning in week after week. But we also get to see some lovely deep dive shots, some interesting guest casting and some really hilarious moments which round out to a pretty good episode. Kamekona (Taylor Wily) has expanded his empire to a shrimp truck, which boasts 31 flavors of shrimp that would make Bubba Gump proud. The advertising with his head on a shrimp body is just disturbing, though. Steve (Alex O'loughlin) and Joe (Terry O'Quinn) are sampling Kamekona's jambalaya (Cajun in paradise?) and Steve is apparently a spice virgin because he nearly gets his tongue burned off. But...

There is so much eye candy in this episode, it's a wonder anyone can pay attention to the case! Well, the case is secondary – at least for me – because we get some wonderful bits of information on Chin's case, or his disgrace with Hpd, And someone is still stalking McGarrett. But hey, they work in some chases, tackles and an explosion too. Can't have an episode of Hawaii Five-0 (TV) without an explosion. North Shore is the location for a swimsuit model shoot, where we are graced by scantily clad, waif thin models under the direction of rock-star photographer Renny Sinclair (Rick Springfield). As usual with a bunch of girls, there is jealousy, because one model, Alana (Serinda Swan) has Renny's sole attention. That's probably because they're sleeping together. In fact, Renny wants to marry her. But before he can even get a ring on her finger, Renny goes back...
