Doja Cat discussed her favorite — and weirdest — YouTube rabbit holes, going bald, loving rap with a campy edge and more as she braved the “Wings of Death” on the latest episode of “Hot Ones.”
Doja gamely embraced the challenge, knowing surefire pain awaited, though she also revealed early on that she had a particular handicap, too: A steady bit of leakage from her left eye, which presented an obvious and serious danger if she went to wipe her face after handling hot sauce. “Just be careful,” host Sean Evans warned.

When Steve Wilkos began work on The Jerry Springer Show in 1994 as a bodyguard, he had no idea it would lead to having one of his own. Let alone a show now entering its 17th season. The Steve Wilkos Show sees the former U.S. Marine and former Chicago police officer bring his no-nonsense approach to each episode. The host will sit down with guests, often bringing some hard truths to the conversation. All to get to the heart of the issues they face, which range from family and criminal justice cases to general relationship conflicts. We caught up with Wilkos to reflect on his milestone 30 years in television. How do you explain your show’s longevity? Steve Wilkos: When I was a cop, people had serious issues and things they were dealing with. You interview them and try to solve what’s going on in the least amount of...

It’s been just a few hours since Steve Wilkos found out about the death of Jerry Springer and he’s still in shock that the man who changed his life is gone. While reflecting on Springer’s legacy, Wilkos tells Et that their get-together about a month ago now all makes sense. Wilkos says Springer was saying “goodbye” without officially saying goodbye.
Wilkos, a longtime fixture on “The Jerry Springer Show” as head of security before his own spinoff show, spoke to Et’s Kevin Frazier and recalled that fateful afternoon when he said Springer called him about getting together for cigars. The former Chicago police officer had just gotten done taping his show, “The Steve Wilkos Show” (now in its 15th season) and he was tired, but he couldn’t say no to the man who had such an impact on his life.

R.I.P. to the great Jerry Springer, who died Thursday at 79. This man revolutionized daytime TV — he was the Martha Graham of afternoon talk-show slap-and-punch choreography. His eponymously titled show was a beautifully bizarre pageant of dysfunctional American life: you watched strangers sit down onstage, listened to them confess horrible betrayals, and waited for them to lunge out of their chairs and scream. There was something so cathartic in it. You felt cheated if you watched an episode where nobody got into a brawl.
Jerry was not like other talk-show hosts.

Steve Wilkos, who got his start as Jerry Springer’s former “bodyguard” on Springer’s often confrontational talk show, said on Thursday that he had no idea that the TV legend had terminal pancreatic cancer.
“You know, we’ve been emailing back and forth and I actually saw him about a month ago. He was in New York and he came up to Stanford to see me and we went out for cigars and I, you know, looking back now I kind of think he knew, but he didn’t call me. And you know, he’s very emotional. And it’s just I didn’t know that was gonna be the last time I saw him,” Wilkos told NewsNation on Thursday after they reported on Springer’s death at the age of 79.
Wilkos went on to say, “He did so much for me. The life that I have is all because of him.

It’s a new day in daytime TV. On Thursday, Ellen DeGeneres left the syndicated talk-show airwaves after 19 years — and that leaves Kelly Clarkson on the starting block, poised to make a run for first place against longtime leaders “Dr. Phil” and “Live With Kelly & Ryan.”
Clarkson will take the “Ellen” slot this fall. Her show, like “Ellen” and “Maury,” averages a 0.4 rating among women 25-54 this season, the key demo for ad sales on syndicated daytime talk shows. “Wendy Williams,” which was guest-hosted this season by a stable of fill-ins including Sherri Shepherd (who gets her own show this fall), also averaged a 0.4 rating.
That means they all tie for third place in daytime’s syndicated talk space, but three of those four aired their series finales. Clarkson’s show is the only one continuing this fall, much to the delight of Tracie Wilson, the executive VP of NBCUniversal...

Ratings for Ellen DeGeneres’ daytime talk show sunk to a new series low last month following a bombshell Buzzfeed News report about the toxic work environment behind the scenes.
“Ellen” reruns drew a 1.0 Live + Same Day household rating in the week ended July 26, 2020, according to Nielsen. That was down 9% from the prior week and a glaring -29% from the same week last summer.

Syndicated talk-show king “Dr. Phil” hit a new season high in TV ratings for the week of Feb. 24 to March 1, a period with a turbulent cycle of current events, including Kobe Bryant’s memorial service, the Harvey Weinstein verdict, the South Carolina Democratic primary debate and the coronavirus outbreak.

Whether he's tracking down Twitter trolls or making fun of PETA protesters, Hannibal Buress isn't afraid to unleash his annoyance – albeit in his own laid-back style. But the comedian goes full-on Hulk in a new clip from his Comedy Central series, Why?, calling out the "douchebag" who stole his laptop bag a few weeks ago at a bar. "You ever have someone steal something from you, and then you catch them, and then they act like they weren't stealing?" Buress says. "It's infuriating."

Surprisingly having an epitome that gratifyingly offers you insight into the direction you should next take your life is a rare instance that people aren’t always prepared to handle, as they expect their situations to be head into a completely different direction. But embracing those changes they never predicted would have occurred in their lives, especially after they made other plans, can actually be a beneficial and life-defining process. That development is a gripping theme of the fan favorite talk show, ‘The Steve Wilkos Show,’ as guests regularly appear on the series to resolve serious, and often times unforeseen, emotional disputes with friends, family and within the criminal justice system. Steve Wilkos heads to a daytime show that doesn’t have any fights, Courtney Stodden tries a last-ditch effort to save her fame, and Jennifer Lawrence talks about her role in the latest X-Men film.
According to a report, Kendall Jenner will soon be gracing the pages of Vogue magazine. The news comes just under two months after big sister, Kim Kardashian, and future brother-in-law, Kanye West, made a huge splash by appearing on the magazine’s cover. [E!] Steve Wilkos stopped by Big Morning Buzz Live, which is a decidedly more sane environment than what he’s used to! Check out his interview with host Nick Lachey. Trisha Goddard joins NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution‘s other freshman daily syndicated talk show, Steve Harvey, with a renewal for a second season in national syndication. Unlike Steve Harvey, which has been a breakout hit, Trisha Goddard has been the lowest-rated among the new syndicated talk shows this season, partly because the show started in far-less-trafficked time slots. Since its debut, the one-hour talk show has been upgraded in major markets including Philadelphia, Boston, Detroit, Phoenix, Las Vegas and more. That has helped Trisha grow in the ratings since its debut while also improving its time periods. In the November 2012 sweep, the show’s viewership increased 23% vs. its premiere week. The conflict talk show, executive produced by Paul Faulhaber and hosted by TV personality Goddard, has been renewed in more than 85% of the country. Trisha Goddard is distributed in national syndication by NBCU and produced by Stamford Media Center Prods,...

Exclusive: Barry Wallach has stepped down as President, NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution, a position he has held since May 2004. He is leaving the company, citing personal reasons (read his note to the company’s staff below). There will be no immediate replacement for Wallach, with Ted Harbert, Chairman, NBC Broadcasting, who oversees NBCU’s syndication arm, evaluating the future. “Barry has led our syndication business with great distinction,” Harbert said. “He has been a valued partner and colleague and I will deeply miss his wise counsel. We thank him for all that he has done for NBCUniversal and wish him nothing but continued success in the future.” Wallach oversaw the development, production and distribution of first-run programming, along with the sales of off-network content. NBCU Domestic TV Distribution recently renewed breakout new syndicated talk show Steve Harvey, which the company distributes, along with fellow freshman Trisha Goddard. Other first-run nationally...

It’s kind of a weird thing to watch Shepard Smith when he gets sincere. First of all, I’ve always felt that Shepard looked vaguely like Laura Palmer’s dad from Twin Peaks, so stunned contrition represents a jarring departure from the conditioned, smarmy death’s head smirk that’s been plastered on his face since Fox News overtook CNN and MSNBC. On Friday, Shepard found himself in the hot seat while Fox News followed a high speed chase in Arizona to its grim conclusion.
Having already been boiled down by the forces of the Internet, all that’s left of the clip is the penultimate moment. The chase, in retrospect, rendered irrelevant. The jacked vehicle, a small maroon SUV, is parked in a clearing, apparently off to the side of a freeway. The suspect jumps out. He is the only person in the frame. Smith describes the scene,...

True Blood has tapped erstwhile T-1000 Robert Patrick to play Jackson Herveaux, the father of Joe Manganiello’s werewolf in a three-episode arc, TVLine has confirmed.
Jackson is described as a once “powerful, inspiring, and heroic” man who, in present day, has seemingly given up on life. X-Files vet Patrick, who co-stars in ABC’s new fall thriller Last Resort, first appears in Episode 9 in a flashback to Alcide and Debbie Pelt’s teenage years.

Valentine’s Day is less than two weeks away, and love is in the air. Love of a good paternity-test joke, that is. While attending the Sundance premiere of his new dramedy Two Days in New York last week, Chris Rock admitted that he is currently making the moves on Bridesmaids breakout Melissa McCarthy. Comedically speaking, of course. “I’m trying to romance her,” the comedian revealed, explaining that he intends to snag McCarthy as the other half of the rowdy, dysfunctional “Jerry Springer couple” at the center of his new untitled script. Wait a minute … this rom-com sounds like it might actually have both romance and comedy in it! We knew it had to happen sometime! Steve Wilkos can cameo as their best man!
According to the L.A. Times, Rock has apparently “made some inroads” into wooing McCarthy for the part. A quick look at her IMDb page,...

The Associated Press is reporting that NBC Sports has made a deal to move its longtime home at 30 Rockefeller Plaza to Stamford, Conn., to take advantage of state tax incentives there. The move out of the network’s flagship headquarters would take the division 35 miles away to Connecticut, which is dialing up an economic development plan that includes luring companies away from their spendy and cramped Manhattan real estate. The AP reported that a government official with knowledge of the deal said details about the tax credits still have to be worked out between the legislature and NBC, but the city is already home to syndicated NBCUniversal shows Maury, The Jerry Springer Show and The Steve Wilkos Show and is the headquarters of NBC Sports Group sibling Versus.

Telepictures’ new syndicated talk show Anderson had a rough start yesterday, drawing a 1.1 household rating, 0.6 in women 25-54. However, the talker starring Anderson Cooper faced CBS Sports’ coverage of the U.S. Open men’s tennis final in several major markets, including New York, San Francisco, and Boston. Facing massive pre-emptions on the CBS stations for tennis coverage, veteran talk show Dr. Phil moved its season premiere featuring Casey Anthony’s parents from yesterday to today. Live With Regis & Kelly and Ellen led the talk-show ratings yesterday with Regis & Kelly (2.9 Hh, 1.4 W25-54) topping the chart in households and Ellen (2.6 Hh, 1.5 W25-54) in the female demo. Ellen averaged a 4.1/11 Hh rating/share in the eight markets where it replaced Oprah, holding onto the Oprah time-period share. Dr. Oz, which succeeded Oprah in most markets, 80+, was up double digits from last fall’s premiere. In the top market where it replaced Oprah,...
