Sarah Harding had hoped to be able to attend her Gala dinner before she died, Girls Aloud bandmate Cheryl Tweedy has revealed.
Harding died of breast cancer in September last year at the age of 39, but revealed her final wish while staying with Tweedy weeks before her death. She was apparently keen to be able to thank those who had helped her during her illness.
"I asked her over and over again how we could help. Was there anything she truly wanted or needed?” wrote Tweedy in an article for Vogue.
“Finally she said to me: ‘I would love you to create an evening, a gala of some kind for me. If I am here and can attend I will be able to thank those who have helped me through all of this, and pay that forward in a way that will help others when I’m gone.’”

Elf has become a modern Christmas classic thanks to Will Ferrell's charmingly innocent Buddy and his quest to find his real dad in New York City.
The spaghetti and maple syrup-loving manchild will soon take his love for all things Christmas to London's West End in a musical version that's bound to get us all in the festive spirit, and help power Santa's sleigh forever more.
Former Superstar winner Ben Forster leads the cast of the new adaptation alongside Girls Aloud's Kimberley Walsh. Ben admitted to Digital Spy that the idea didn't win him over at first, but that the warmth of the play and the "amazing" songs quickly did the trick.
"It's definitely got the same heartbeat of the film, it'll make you smile and cry in all the right places," he said. "It was one of my biggest concerns when I got the part, 'Oh my god,...

Elf the Musical could well be the most expensive West End show of all time.
Tickets to go and see the festive production in London this Christmas will set you back between £51.80 and £240 - and no, that isn't a typo.
As Time Out London reports, a family of four would have to spend £207.20 for nosebleed seats, or an absurd £960 for the best spot in the house.
The musical stars Ben Forster and Kimberley Walsh in the lead roles of Buddy the Elf and his sweetheart Jovie.
Meanwhile, The Bodyguard's Mark McKerracher will star as Santa Claus, while Joe McGann and Jessica Martin round out the main cast of the musical as the Hobbs family.
Elf the Musical is set to open for a ten-week run at the Dominion Theatre on October 24. Tickets are available now via the musical's official website.

The Big Brother bond between Brian Dowling and Narinder Kaur seems to be unbreakable, with the latter set to be the presenter's bridesmaid today (July 30).
The pair took part in the second series of Big Brother back in 2001, and immediately became inseparable. They were mostly seen gossiping about their fellow housemates - including Amma Antwi-Agyei and Dean O'Loughlin - and even developed nicknames and facial expressions to describe the poor unsuspecting contestants.
Dowling is believed to be holding his wedding with long-term partner Arthur Gourounlian in a country house just outside Dublin, after the couple legally tied the knot in London a few months ago.
Explaining his decision and concerns over the same-sex marriage vote in Ireland, the TV presenter said: "We did it in London as we didn't know how the law would go in Ireland. We wanted to make sure we got it right.
"All my friends and family are coming.

Nick Grimshaw mistakenly called Cheryl Fernandez-Versini by her former name of Cheryl Cole during 'X Factor' auditions. The 30-year-old radio host - who's been added to the 'X Factor' line up this year - accidentally called the brunette beauty by the name she used during her marriage to soccer star Ashley Cole as he asked about her vote. Following Nick's blunder, Cheryl snapped: ''It's Cheryl or Chezza!'' Meanwhile, fellow judge Rita Ora responded: ''I'm backing away!'' Simon Cowell, on the other hand, simply said: ''Awkward, awkward.'' Earlier this week, Cheryl's former Girls Aloud bandmate Kimberley Walsh compared Nick Grimshaw to Marmite, saying she can understand...

Could Simon Cowell not take a day out of his hectic schedule to (lightly) bang Louis Walsh and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's heads together?
The bickering pair, who should know better, just cannot let bygones be bygones as they publicly entered their latest war of words.
Walsh seems to be at his most content when he's shooting his mouth off about the star, recently igniting their age-old feud by describing her as "lazy" and irrelevant" during his latest interview.

1. Mark Wright was the first finalist to be eliminated in the Grand Finale, putting him in fourth place:
4th place to Mark Wright right result phew, I was worried public votes may distort things. Done well overall though #Strictly #Scd #SCDfinal

Mark Wright leaves strictly , but he did so well from knowing nothing about dancing

I was hoping for a Mark Wright double whammy. One for Strictly and one for The Apprentice.

Fame Academy may only have lasted two series, but boy, did it burn bright. And even though it was over ten years ago that it was on our screens, we're still belting out David Sneddon's utter tune 'Stop Living The Lie' at our DS karaoke sessions.
But the news of series two's Alistair Griffin teaming up with Kimberley Walsh for a Tour de France single got us thinking - what happened to all of our favourite Fame Academy contestants? Well, here's what we could find out about 16 of the students over both series...

Ashley might have been eliminated in week one of Fame Academy (the shame) but he's not let that little disappointment hold him back. He went on to guest star in an episode of Cbbc's Mi: High... look, we promise, this gets better. He's now a sports presenter who helped launch Arsenal TV,...

Kimberley Walsh has discussed Cheryl Cole's return to The X Factor.
She was also quizzed about Cole's angry text message, which she sent to Simon Cowell after she was axed from the Us series in 2011.
Cole recently revealed that she sent the following message to Cowell three years ago: "F**k you, F**k Fox, F**k the orange and purple outfit. F**k the big hair. F**k the UK X Factor. F**k you all. I hate you."
Speaking on This Morning, Walsh said: "That was fair enough really! The thing with Cheryl is she says it as it is at the time, and then she doesn't hold grudges, she's not one of those people, she likes to let things go and move on. So that will have been how she felt at the time!"

Sam Bailey: A+
Despite being tagged as this year's "Tesco Mary", given the tag "ScrewBo" by Louis Walsh and an alarming amount of interest from Michael Bolton, Sam has managed to overcome these hurdles and genuinely be considered a contender for the title. No easy feat for an act in the dreaded Overs category.
Sam's managed to not only hit all the big notes, she's also managed to make herself look like an artist who could sell a few records. The judges can't find a flaw, her blubbing husband gets us all emotional every time and she's proving to be consistently popular in the Digital Spy polls. We'd probably hate her if she wasn't so darn nice.

The question on the lips of every self-respecting reality TV fan right now is not, 'Who do you like on X Factor?' or, 'Did you watch this week's Strictly?' like it normally is in the heart of autumn. Instead, the only thing anyone is talking about is, 'Who should win The Great British Bake Off?'.
The obvious answer is, bring back Howard and give him the crown. But sadly, due to some so-called rules and that pesky Paul Hollywood and darn mean Mary Berry, Howard can't come back. For shame.
Three contestants who do stand a chance of winning the reality series are Ruby, Kimberley and Frances. But only one of them will walk out of the Bake Off tent with the title. Who do you want it to be?
