We’re wrapping this week up with a new episode of the Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? video series, and with this one we’re looking back at one of the most maligned sequels ever made: the 1997 release An American Werewolf in Paris (watch it Here). How did this follow-up to An American Werewolf in London go so wrong? Watch the video embedded above to find out!
Directed by Mute Witness‘s Anthony Waller, who also wrote the screenplay with Tim Burns and Tom Stern, An American Werewolf in Paris has the following synopsis: A group of carousing American tourists is taking in the cultural landmarks of Paris when a chance encounter results in sightseer Andy McDermott saving the life of Parisian Serafine Pigot. While on a date at a nightclub with Serafine, Andy is suddenly attacked and bitten by a werewolf. The next day he discovers that Serafine is also a lycanthrope,...

Recently I told ya creeps my thoughts on the new flea-bitten fright flick Bubba The Redneck Werewolf. In short, I loved the damn thing! And, as fate—along with an arcane ceremony involving spells etched on human flesh, a coupon for 2 for 1 strip steak at Sizzler, and a dog-eared copy of Swank—would have it, the die-rector and producer of ol’ Bubba are here right now with me in the Crypt o’ Xiii! So let’s put our paws together for Brendan Jackson Rogers and Will Phillips!
Famous Monsters. How did ya hear about ol’ Bubba the Redneck Werewolf, and what made ya think that lovable lycanthrope would make a bone-a-fide fright flick star?
Brendan Jackson Rogers. First off, we couldn’t be more excited to be talking to the Coffin Club. Thanks for having us! Our introduction to the redneck werewolf began with meeting Mitch Hyman [who I just so happened to have a jaw shesh with right here! - Xiii] through a mutual friend.

Pop culture comes to life in St. Louis next month! It’s the Wizard World Comic Con May 22nd through the 24th at America’s Center downtown (701 Convention Plaza – St. Louis, Mo 63101), and boy oh boy, do they have an amazing line-up of guests!

Lord of the Rings Trilogy’s Pippin Billy Boyd, Captain America squeeze Hayley Atwell, and Silent Bob’s buddy Jay aka Jason Mewes.

Cinema has a long and complex history with robot characters. From being bionic buddies to metal menaces, from silver servants to all-powerful automatons, robot characters have equally awed and terrified cinema-goers. To celebrate the release of Transformers: Age of Extinction here’s a look at some of the best robots committed to celluloid.
10) The Fix-Its – Batteries Not Included
The Fix-It (so dubbed by the characters in Batteries Not Included) are a family of adorable little robots who look to make things better in a Brooklyn building, due for demolition. The community within the building all take to the little metal fellas, and both humans and Fix-Its work together to prevent their home from being knocked down by industrious fat cats.
9) Hal – 2001: A Space Odyssey

Every week, EW will imagine a sequel to a movie that we wish would happen — no matter how unlikely the idea really is.
I was a very serious child, and I often found myself confused about what I was supposed to do in public scenarios. For example: I thought you weren’t supposed to scream on roller coasters — you should see that photo — and you weren’t supposed to laugh out loud in movie theaters — there’s no photo of that, sorry. Why did I think this? I have no idea, especially because I come from a family of very...

Let me introduce you to the 'Final Guy'.
So we all pretty much know the basic slasher film tropes that earn a horror character the 'final girl' title, right? For those of you at the back who fell asleep during your last film theory lesson; it's pretty much as it sounds – the last character left after the dust, blood and all kinds of unspeakable carnage has finally settled. She's the one that demonstrates exceptional perseverance in the face of abject terror and most importantly, the one who subdues the maniac once and for all -or until the next sequel at least. This character just so happens to be a girl because that was the gender of choice for those wonderful folk who decided their main hero (or victim) when writing for this ostensibly male dominated genre.
How about we focus on someone a little more under-appreciated by the horror audiences and theorists – the 'final' guy.

Former NBA star Rick Fox is well-known for his acting prowess. Now he's taking on a new entertainment venture. Fox is producing a web series entitled Hysteria, directed by Frank Lin, which is divided into 26 segments. The producers are releasing one piece a day until Halloween.
And just because it's a web series, don't think that they have a bunch of struggling actors and actresses in this one. Among the cast are Jd Walsh, who was featured in "Two and a Half Men"; Emmanuelle Vaugier from Saw II and Saw IV; Todd Grinnell, who's been featured in "Desperate Housewives"; Nolan Gould of "Modern Family"; and Laura Allen of "Terriers." Cheyenne Jackson heads the cast. He has Flight 93 and appearances on "Glee" and "30 Rock" to his credits. A pretty kickass cast.

While many feel Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes is destroying the horror world with its endless remakes, The Weinstein Company has been doing its fare share too. They’ve remade John Carpenter’s Halloween (with a sequel set to open in August), are developing a Hellraiser update and according to Bloody Disgusting may next be turning to werewolves. The site has received a tip saying the Weinstein’s have acquired the rights to the 1981 John Landis horror-comedy An American Werewolf in London, which is considered by many to be one of the best Werewolf films ever made. In the original, two American tourists in England are attacked by a werewolf that none of the locals will admit exists. It starred David Naughton, Griffin Dunne, Jenny Agutter and John Woodvine. Rick Baker earned an Oscar for his groundbreaking makeup effects. The film spawned a pseudo-sequel in 1997, An American Werewolf in Paris.

Order of Chaos was first discovered by us film news connoisseurs when that well oiled poster you see to the right dropped just a few months back. Back then, no one really knew what the film was about except that it was written and directed on a modest 1 million dollar budget by actor Vince Vieluf (Hysteria, Firewall). We were all dying to see traierage, and now we have it for ya!

There's no reason why any of us should give a frog's thigh (that is the expression, right?) about a small film called Order Of Chaos. Director Vince Vieluf is a veteran character actor who's done the whole "CSI thing", and stars Rhys Coiro, Milo Ventimiglia, Samantha Mathis and Mimi Rogers are all pretty meh. Thanks to the always awesome IMPAwards, we've got a first look at a poster for Order of Chaos. Seen on it is an odd and completely fascinating collection of items, ranging from an iPhone to a pistol to some pills to a pair of glasses to a wad of money. Even more odd is that the IMDb page for Order of Chaos lists no plot synopsis. So what exactly is this movie about? It's as if we're already part of a big mystery and now it's up to us to solve this puzzle on the poster. How's that for a fun little marketing gimmick? Successful music video and commercial director David Dobkin, like bosses Ridley and Tony Scott before him, makes a notable feature debut with "Clay Pigeons", a quirky, darkly comedic thriller.
While the logistics of character motivation don't appear to be particularly embraced by fellow newcomer Matt Healy's playful script, the gathered ensemble of indie faves (including Janeane Garofalo, Vince Vaughn and Joaquin Phoenix) makes it all quite entertaining.
Recently screened at the Toronto International Film Festival, the Gramercy release should hit the specialty market target while establishing Dobkin as one to watch.
Set in the fictional, comatose town of Mercer, Mont., the seamy intrigue kicks in early with laconic protagonist Clay Bidwell (Phoenix) finding himself staring into a gun barrel being trained on him by his best buddy Earl (Gregory Sporleder). Seems Earl has some pretty convincing evidence that Clay's been carrying on with his very willing wife, but rather than kill him, he plans to use Clay's gun to do himself in, thereby intending to frame him for his apparent murder.
With Earl having successfully carried out his deed, the panic-stricken Clay runs to the newly widowed Amanda (Georgina Cates) for help, but she makes it very clear she wants no part in the whole situation other than to resume their Wednesday afternoon trysts. Left to his own devices, Clay will make the first of many bad decisions.
Just when it seems things couldn't get any worse, along comes Lester Long (Vaughn), a swaggering James Dean wannabe with a greasy, ingratiating manner and a fake laugh who's intent on being Clay's new best friend at any cost.
Meanwhile, astute FBI Agent Dale Shelby (Garofalo) has been sniffing around investigating the disappearances of a number of local women, and despite assurances to the contrary from the fatherly town sheriff (Scott Wilson), Clay's looking to be a prime suspect.
While Healy's script ultimately offers surprisingly few surprises, there's a nicely warped sense of irrelevance to the proceedings -- a body pops up in the middle of a fishing expedition with a minimum of histrionics; the narcoleptic sheriff's deputy (Vince Vieluf) is actually named Deputy Barney -- that keep things blackly amusing.
Among the standout performances in the uniformly able cast are heavies Vaughn and Cates, who play their nasty characters with relish. Vaughn lays on the smarm factor thickly while actress Cates ("An Awfully Big Adventure") sheds her customarily refined British accent for her take-no-prisoners, cold-hearted hussy role.
Behind-the-camera, music videographer-turned-cinematographer Eric Edwards ("To Die For", "Cop Land") bathes the picture in what can best be described as sun-drenched noir. Composer John Lurie's idiosyncratic score blends nicely with the similarly eclectic song selection by Mary Ramos and Michelle Kuznetsky, which runs the gamut from Pat Boone and Elvis Presley to Lyle Lovett and Sister Hazel.
