20. The Innocents
Directed by Jack Clayton
Written by William Archibald and Truman Capote
UK, 1961
Genre: Hauntings
The Innocents, which was co-written by Truman Capote, is the first of many screen adaptations of The Turn of the Screw. If you’ve never heard of it, don’t feel bad because most people haven’t – but The Innocents deserves its rightful spot on any list of great horror films. Here is one of the few films where the ghost story takes place mostly in daylight, and the lush photography, which earned cinematographer Freddie Francis one of his two Oscar wins, is simply stunning. Meanwhile, director Jack Clayton and Francis made great use of long, steady shots, which suggest corruption is lurking everywhere inside the grand estate. The Innocents also features three amazing performances; the first two come courtesy of child actors Pamela Franklin (The Legend of Hell House), and Martin Stephens (Village of the Damned...

Ryan Meade's Grindhouse Anthology aka Creature Triple Feature stars Tom Sullivan, Hal Delrich, Terence Cover, Evan Milka and more.
Three short films make up the collection: "Cosmos Locos," "Frankenstein's Fatal Flying Guillotine," and "Bong Fly," and each was produced, written, directed, shot, scored and edited by Ryan Meade.
"Cosmos Locos" stars Tom Sullivan, in an action adventure comedy that takes place in a comic book shop. "Frankensteins Fatal Flying Guillotine" stars Terence Cover from "Cosmos Locos", features Frankenstein's monster on a quest to get his bride back from Dracula Grindhouse style.

One of the unsung heroes of The Evil Dead is Tom Sullivan, whose contributions to the original franchise are quite frankly as important as Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell's. Sullivan was a makeup effects artist, animator and designer on Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness, and it is he who was responsible for many of the practical effects and props seen in the movies, including the iconic Book of the Dead.
As reported by Fangoria, Sullivan is the subject of an upcoming documentary called Invaluable: The True Story of an Epic Artist, which digs inside the mind of the man who gave us some of the most horrifying and grotesque visuals in horror history. Providing unprecedented access to Sullivan's workshop, the Ryan Meade-directed documentary will also be jam packed with never-before-seen interviews with cast and crew members, including Bruce Campbell, as well as tours of...

Back in August, Michigan-based pop culture memorabilia website TV Store Online announced a fun contest and fundraiser that would see artists from Syfy's series Face Off and even stars from the Friday the 13th franchise getting together to design their very own Jason Voorhees masks, which were set to be auctioned off to raise money for charity. Each artist was sent a blank hockey mask, which they were encouraged to alter in any way they saw fit.
Now that all of the masks have been designed, they're available for bidding over on eBay, with 100% of all proceeds going directly to Toys For Tots.
Evil Dead makeup artist Tom Sullivan, original Jason Ari Lehman and Face Off's Roy Wooly are just a few of the fine folks who put their skills to the test, and you can see a handful of the unique Jason masks designed for the fundraiser below.

Every year, we here at Sound On Sight celebrate the month of October with 31 Days of Horror; and every year, I update the list of my favourite horror films ever made. Last year, I released a list that included 150 picks. This year, I’ll be upgrading the list, making minor alterations, changing the rankings, adding new entries, and possibly removing a few titles. I’ve also decided to publish each post backwards this time around for one simple reason: that is, the new additions appear lower on my list, whereas my top 50 haven’t changed much, except for maybe in ranking. Enjoy!
Special Mention:
Un chien andalou
Directed by Luis Buñuel
Written by Salvador Dalí and Luis Buñuel
France, 1929
The dream – or nightmare – has been a staple of horror cinema for decades. In 1929, Luis Bunuel joined forces with Salvador Dali to create Un chien andalou, an experimental and unforgettable 17-minute surrealist masterpiece.

Bidding started at $625 on eBay, with no takers as of this writing, so if you're really serious you might want to hurry and make that appointment to sell your plasma...

As The Evil Dead makes its debut on Blu-ray, we look back at the ten things we love about Sam Raimi’s horror classic…
In 1981, young director Sam Raimi unleashed his debut horror feature, The Evil Dead, on an unsuspecting populace. Gradually amassing a huge cult following in the years after its release, the film's anarchic violence delighted fans and horrified Mary Whitehouse.
Here are ten reasons why, almost three decades on, The Evil Dead is still a genre masterpiece...
10. It was endlessly inventive on a shoestring budget
The Evil Dead was essentially an excuse for a bunch of young men to mess around in the woods for a few weeks. With little more than a wooden shed, a few gallons of fake blood and five actors, Raimi and his crew of fledgling filmmakers took to the freezing wilds of Tennessee with a 16mm camera and came back a few...

"Splatter Movie: The Director's Cut" Starring: Amy Lynn Best, Tom Sullivan ("The Evil Dead"), Debbie Rochon ("Nowhere Man"), Sofiya Smirnova ("A Feast Of Flesh"), Elske McCain ("Poultrygeist"), Rachelle Williams (Jess Franco's "Take-away Spirit"). A surreal and off-beat "documentary" about the making of a slasher movie called "Tessaract" (which, in turn, is about a group of filmmakers shooting a movie called "Splatter Movie") whose cast and crew is being stalked by a killer masquerading as the film's fictional killer. Written by Mike Watt and directed by and starring Amy Lynn Best, "Splatter Movie" quickly spirals into bizarre territory as the line between film and reality blurs?then disappears entirely! The film also features the song “Spot the Psycho” by Cornbugs, featuring vocals by Choptop aka Fango fav Bill Moseley.

Pittsburgh-based indie horror production company Happy Cloud Pictures has just announced that their latest production Splatter Movie: The Director's Cut featuring horror icon Debbie Rochon (Tromeo And Juliette) and Evil Dead effects wizard, animator and artist Tom Sullivan will be available for sale for a very limited time. Splatter Movie, a darkly satirical mockumentary that is one part Blair Witch, one part Scream and all blood and guts is a guaranteed thrill and more than a couple of uncomfortable laughs (especially for anyone who has ever worked on an indie horror film or is familiar with the horror convention scene).
