- He was primarly chosen for his role as Julian Scherner, in "Schindler's List", because he looked virtually identical to the actual Scherner based on comparisons to World War II photographs of the S.S. Brigadier General.
- Moved to France in the late 1970s where he resided for 30 years. In 2010, he came back to Poland. Since 2011 he's been the head manager of Teatr Polski in Warsaw.
- Was on the board of directors and also actor in the famous Parisian theater Comedie Française.
- Used to teach at l'Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts et Techniques du Theatre in Lyon, France.
- Has three children with three different wives: daughter Maria Seweryn (b. 1975), and two sons Yann Seweryn and Maximilien Seweryn.
- Used to teach at the CNSAD, le Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique (National Conservatory of Dramatic Art) in Paris.
- Born on exactly the same date as Talia Shire of "Rocky" fame.
