Chris Hemsworth’s hit action franchise, “Extraction,” is getting a third adventure. The action star and director Sam Hargrave made the announcement at Netflix’s Tudum event on Saturday, following the June 16 premiere of “Extraction 2.”
The first two films center on black ops mercenary Tyler Rake (Hemsworth). In the first film, Tyler takes on a mission to save an Indian crime lord’s son, but it pushes him to the brink of death. “Extraction 2” picks up with Tyler recovering from the assignment, but then he decides to embark on another risky task in order to save the family of a famed Georgian gangster.
Hargrave, whose directorial debut was the first “Extraction,” has lent his stunt expertise to the franchise’s second film as well. The stuntman-turned-director stunned fans with the sequel’s use of a singular shot for a 21-minute action sequence.

The official trailer for Netflix’s Extraction 2 starring Chris Hemsworth finds the Marvel star fighting his way through what seems like hundreds of well-armed bad guys in order to save a mom and two kids. All this after being declared clinically dead following the events at the end of the first Extraction.
Hemsworth described this official trailer on social media, saying, “Here you go. Extraction 2 trailer smacking you right between the eyes.” Hemsworth also confirmed the action thriller includes a single shot that clocks in at 21 minutes.
The nearly three-minute trailer arrived along with three new posters featuring Hemsworth in action.
In addition to Chris Hemsworth returning as Tyler Rake, Extraction 2 stars Golshifteh Farahani (reprising her role from the first film), Adam Bessa, Olga Kurylenko, Daniel Bernhardt, and Tinatin Dalakishvili. Extraction‘s director and screenwriter – Sam Hargrave and Joe Russo, respectively – also return to put Hemsworth through hell in the sequel.

The official trailer for Extraction 2 has Chris Hemsworth returning from near death as black ops mercenary Tyler Rake in another brutal display of power when he is personally requested for a rescue mission.
As is explained in the high-octane footage (below), Rake was clinically dead nine months ago. But he fought his way back and now, he just has to find out why.
Rake’s deadly mission follows his surviving the events of the original film and in the sequel aiming to rescue the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from prison against impossible odds. Hemsworth continues such death-defying stunts in the nonstop, brutal and bloody Extraction 2 trailer.
The original Extraction thriller saw the Australian mercenary mourn the death of his son while rescuing the kidnapped son of an imprisoned Indian drug kingpin. Rake then seemingly died in the original Extraction, which hit Netflix in 2020, but a...

Chris Hemsworth reteams with “Avengers: Endgame” directors the Russo brothers in “Extraction,” whose trailer just dropped. In the action thriller, Hemsworth is still playing the hero, but his character is a lot more grizzled than Thor.
“Extraction” stars Hemsworth as a black market mercenary who takes a job to rescue a drug kingpin’s teenage son from a warring gang, only to get stuck in the crossfire and constantly on the run with the kid when the city goes on lockdown.
But Hemsworth has something of a death wish in the film for his tortured past, and he definitely doesn’t view himself as the hero.
“You rescue people,” the boy says to Hemsworth in the trailer for “Extraction.” “Sometimes. Sometimes I do other things,” he replies.

Start spreading the news, John Goodman is packing his bags and is on the verge of heading to the Coldest City, Focus Features’ upcoming war-time thriller to be directed by John Wick‘s David Leitch.
Deadline has the scoop, with the outlet reporting that the Trumbo scene-stealer has opened negotiations to join the project, which would see him star opposite James McAvoy and Mad Max: Fury Road‘s Charlize Theron. According to Deadline, Goodman is in line to play an American agent, one who assists both McAvoy and Theron’s agents as they attempt to leverage a masterplan from opposite sides of the Berlin wall.
Set during the twilight years of the city-dividing monument (i.e. 1989), Coldest City is a spy thriller in every sense, with Theron and McAvoy setting aside personal differences in order to foil a potentially destructive ploy that would expose the real-life identities of all spies...

David Leitch’s war-time spy thriller Coldest City has recruited X-Men: Apocalypse actor James McAvoy. He joins Charlize Theron in the adaptation of the eponymous Oni Press graphic novel.
Leitch, who is perhaps best known for co-directing last year’s white-knuckle ride John Wick, takes point for this one. Working from a script produced by Kurt Johnstad, the director’s foray behind the lens will be set against the fall of the Berlin Wall circa 1989. Specifically, Coldest City takes place on the eve of the barrier’s destruction, telling the gripping tale of two spies working to locate and destroy a blacklist containing the names of secret agents operating on both sides of the wall.
Not only will Charlize Theron star in the feature, but the actress is also set to produce with Leitch. Furthermore, Beth Kono, A.J. Dix, Eric Gitter, Peter Schwerin and Kelly McCormick will each assume producing duties,...

On a long list of cinema’s best lugheads, or muscle-bound action stars as they would prefer to be called, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson would probably fall somewhere in the middle. While never really opening a movie outside of Disney’s family film “The Game Plan” on his own, Johnson has recently fallen back on mega-grossing blockbusters like “Fast Five,” “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island,” and the upcoming “G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation.” In this writer’s opinion, he’s not without talent, showcasing an admirable comedic timing and acting prowess well above what you’d expect from a guy who started his career getting oiled up for WWE wrestling matches.
Deadline is now reporting that Johnson has signed on for a film that’s once again within his comfort zone of the action genre, with the adaptation of an upcoming Oni Press graphic novel entitled “Ciudad.” Oni Press also published the “Scott Pilgrim” books,...
