Margaret Qualley is no longer going to star in Hulu’s limited series about Amanda Knox, Variety has confirmed.
The untitled series was announced in March with Qualley set to star and executive produce. She has reportedly exited the project due to scheduling conflicts. The role will now be recast.
This is not the first time Hulu has lost its lead actress in a limited series based on a real person. Kate McKinnon was once attached to play Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes in what would become “The Dropout,” the role that was eventually played by Amanda Seyfried. Seyfried would go on to win an Emmy for her work on the show.
Hulu has ordered eight one-hour episodes of the show. The official description states that it is “based on the true story of how Knox was wrongfully convicted for the murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher and her 16-year odyssey to set herself free.

Back in the 1990s, the Black Crowes blew up out of Atlanta, playing soulful, swaggering classic rock in an era of alt-rock irony and grunge bellyaching. Even more impressively, the two guys at the heart of the band — singer Chris Robinson and his guitar-playing brother Rich — managed to pull off their multi-platinum run while absolutely hating each other, like an American version of Oasis. But eventually the tension between Chris and Rich forced the Crowes to close up shop.

Slash and some of his famous friends will celebrate the blues this summer on the Guns N’ Roses guitarist’s upcoming touring S.E.R.P.E.N.T. festival. In addition to Slash, who recently announced a new album, the lineup will variously include the Warren Haynes Band, Keb’ ‘Mo, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Robert Randolph, Samantha Fish, Eric Gales, Zz Ward, Jackie Venson, and Larkin Poe, depending on the night.
The tour, which kicks off in Montana in July, will help raise money to fight racism and fight for civil rights.

Slash has announced a new blues album, Orgy of the Damned, arriving May 17th via Gibson Records.

Around the time Slash parted ways with Guns N’ Roses, he got deep into the blues and soul music. With a group called Slash’s Blues Ball, he reinterpreted the music of Robert Johnson, Willie Dixon, and Stevie Wonder, among others, at gigs between 1996 and 1998. Now — nearly three decades later — the guitarist, who returned to Gn’R in 2016, is recommitting himself to that group’s repertoire on Orgy of the Damned, a new solo album due out May 17, which finds him trading licks with many of his famous friends.

Shooting Stars might be labeled a sports drama, but at its core, the biographical film released on Peacock June 2 about Lebron James’ high school basketball team from 1999-2003 is about hard work, perseverance and triumph over the obstacles life throws at you.
Chris Robinson (Atl, The New Edition Story) is the director who was tasked with showcasing the talent and tenacity that made James (played here by Marquis “Mookie” Cook) and his teammates — Dru Joyce III, Willie McGee, Sian Cotton and Romeo Travis at St. Vincent–St. Mary High School in his hometown of Akron, Ohio — successes on and off the court. And more importantly, lifelong friends.
“Can you imagine being 15 and the whole world is having a conversation about you?” asks Robinson as he reminisces about the hype around James and his core teammates known as the Fab Four in junior high, and eventually the Fab Five as Travis...

Practically since his career began, LeBron James has been not merely a great basketball player but a media industry generating a seemingly endless array of products.
The latest example is this new Peacock original film based on his 2009 memoir co-written with Buzz Bissinger (Friday Night Lights), recounting the story of his early years and friendship with his high school teammates known as the “Fab Four,” later expanded to become the “Fab Five.” The story was already told in the 2008 documentary More Than a Game, but that won’t stop the Goat’s fans from wanting to see this lovingly rendered adaptation that covers all the early career highlights, albeit sometimes in sanitized form.
The story begins with James (Marquis “Mookie” Cook, a top-ranked amateur basketball player making an impressive screen debut) playing in a youth league in Akron, Ohio, along with his three best friends: Lil Dru (Caleb McLaughlin, Stranger...

NBA legend LeBron James’ coming-of-age story was so instrumental to his success, he co-wrote a book about it. Director Chris Robinson now spins the tale into a biopic, Shooting Stars, exploring how James went from a soft-spoken kid with big dreams to a high-school basketball phenom on Sports Illustrated’s cover (headline: “The Chosen One”). (Credit: Oluwaseye Olusa/Universal Pictures) Through the whirlwind, four Akron, Ohio, friends and teammates stand by James. They dub themselves the Fab Five, and while the African American teens feel like fish out of water at a mostly white Catholic school, the unified, determined team of dunkers clutches three state titles. Cast as LeBron, five-star prospect Marquis “Mookie” Cook, 18, had no acting chops but had played on a travel team with James’ son Bronny and glimpsed the pro player in unguarded moments. “We’re all humans,” Cook says. “He talks like us, laughs like us.

Guitarist Joe Perry has revealed that singer Steven Tyler is doing “100 percent better” after recent health issues, and that Aerosmith are planning to launch a tour in September.
Four months ago, Aerosmith dropped the final two dates of their “Deuces Are Wild” Las Vegas residency due to Tyler’s health. When asked about the singer’s condition in a new interview with Detroit’s Wrif, Perry said his longtime bandmate is on the mend.
“Steven’s doing great,” Perry said. “He’s doing a 100 percent better. He had a lot of physical stuff going on that — finally — he really needed to take some more time off, unfortunately.”
Tyler, who recently denied allegations that he sexually abused a minor in the 1970s, is apparently doing well enough to tour. Perry revealed the band’s fall plans in a separate interview with New York’s 102.3 Wbab when asked if Aerosmith were commemorating...

Netflix’s new series “Agent Elvis” arrives March 17 and sees the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll pulling double duty as a singer by day and a secret government battling dark forces by night. And this time, it’s Matthew McConaughey voicing the King.
Accompanying the animated series is a musical soundtrack composed by Tyler Bates and Timothy Williams, who recently scored “Pearl.”
Intertwining iconic Elvis Presley syncs such as “Viva Las Vegas” and “If I Can Dream” is a score with a rock-tinged surfer vibe and plenty of guitar to underscore the action.
Says Bates, “‘Agent Elvis’ is such an amazingly hilarious show that Tim and I had to tamp down our laughter in order to work on the score, which is a musical odyssey unlike any I have previously encountered.”

The Black Crowes guitarist Rich Robinson removed a man from the stage at a gig after he was seen being chased around by security.
The “Hard to Handle” band were performing at the Palais Theatre in Melbourne, Australia on Sunday (20 November) when the incident took place.
In a moment caught on video, the man appeared alongside the band during the song “Stare It Cold”.
He was chased by security, who tried to push him off the stage, but it was only when guitarist Robinson shoved him with his guitar that the man jumped down.
Robinson was met with gasps and cheers from the crowd as the song came to a halt.
Singer Chris Robinson could be seen shouting at the stage invader from the audience.
“Hey, you throw that motherf***er out, right,” he said into the microphone. “You get the f*** out of here.” The band then restarted the song.

Kate Hudson turned her latest premiere into a family affair. The actor - who stars in "Glass Onion: A Knives Mystery" with Daniel Craig, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, and more - brought two dates to celebrate the film's release in Los Angeles on Nov. 14: her fiancé, musician Danny Fujikawa, and mom Goldie Hawn.
Hudson posed with both Fujikawa and Hawn in a shimmery nude sequin dress with dramatic sleeves, sparkling at every turn on the red carpet. Fujikawa chose a sleek black tuxedo for the occasion, while Hawn also went all black, in a long jacket with metallic details. At the premiere, Hudson told People about how growing up with two movie stars as her parents gave her a built-in "bullsh*t detector," which she brought to her role in the film.
In October, Hawn and Kurt Russell shared a sweet moment with their granddaughter Rani Rose, Hudson and Fujikawa's 4-year-old.

Six months after the Black Crowes were sued by original member Steve Gorman over a royalties dispute, the band and their former drummer are “engaged” in settlement talks.
In March, Gorman — who along with the brothers Rich and Chris Robinson and bassist Chuck Brandt (a.k.a Johnny Colt) formed a partnership in 1991 to collect royalties for the group — sued to confirm the accuracy of his royalty payments and audit the partnership’s records. Gorman alleged that he asked to inspect the royalty accounting on numerous times, but his request was denied.

Exclusive: Saladin Ahmed (Miles Morales: Spider-Man) has partnered with filmmakers Shaka King (Judas and the Black Messiah) and Travon Free (Two Distant Strangers) to create Drac: Son of Dante—a new, 15-part webcomic series for Tapas Media and Endeavor Content, which is now free to read exclusively via the former company’s website and mobile app. The series’ first two episodes have already launched, with more to come weekly on Fridays.
Drac is said to introduce a new and contemporary mythology around the origins of the iconic goth villain Dracula that will resonate with multicultural and youth audiences alike. The narrative follows Dante, an eerie, flute-playing immortal who finds himself drawn to the human condition against the natural order and better judgment of his species. Dante follows this obsession no matter how much trouble it gets him into — but a conflict for the ages erupts when his monstrous son Drac chooses a human bride.
