The Real Housewives of New York City fans will find a new face on the series when season 15 premieres later this year. Rebecca Minkoff is joining the revamped cast, but not all fans are thrilled about it. Minkoff’s connection to the Church of Scientology has viewers talking. Some would like Bravo to add Leah Remini, a former Scientologist who penned a memoir about her time inside the religion, to the cast, too.

“The Talk” is going silent. CBS is ending the long-running daytime chat show, which will get an abbreviated final season (its 15th) this fall, before signing off for good with what it’s calling a “celebratory sendoff” in December.

The news comes as CBS and the NAACP are developing a new daytime soap opera under their content partnership, “The Gates,” a partnership with P&g Studios, a division of Procter & Gamble. “The Gates,” which “follows the lives of a wealthy Black family in a posh, gated community,” is seen as a potential replacement for “The Talk.”

Leah Remini’s defamation and harassment suit against the Church of Scientology is far from dead, but it’s constitutionally wounded.
In a March 12 split final ruling from Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Randolph Hammock (read it here), the David Miscavige-led organization has prevailed on getting significant portions of the ex-Scientologist’s action stricken on First Amendment grounds. However, parts of Remini’s harassment claims, “allegations of surveillance” and the tortious inference claim remain in the case going forward.
Having issued a tentative ruling on these matters weeks ago, and overseen hearings in Dta on January 16 and February 6, Judge Hammock’s final ruling doesn’t really contain anything anyone in the case didn’t know what coming. Still, even with an October 27, 2025, trial start date on the books right now, it would be foolish to say that Remini hasn’t suffered a setback from Scientology’s successful use of...

A Los Angeles judge has thrown out portions of Leah Remini’s lawsuit against Scientology, finding that some of the church’s attacks on her are protected under the First Amendment.
But in a mixed ruling, the judge also found that the church cannot claim free-speech protection for allegedly stalking, harassing and surveilling Remini, or for harassing producers and staff who worked on her anti-Scientology podcast.
Since leaving Scientology in 2013, the “King of Queens” actor has become its most prominent critic, writing a memoir and hosting two seasons of the A&e docuseries, “Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath.”
Last August, she filed a 68-page lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging she had been subject to a decade of online attacks, stalking and intimidation designed to punish her for her criticism of the church.

JoJo Siwa is returning to “So You Think You Can Dance” as a judge for the show’s reimagined Season 18. Siwa, who was previously a judge on the show’s Season 17 in 2022, replaces Nigel Lythgoe — who stepped down earlier this month in the wake of two lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault.
Siwa will now join choreographer Allison Holker and pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy on the show’s judging panel. Presenter and author Cat Deeley hosts the dance competition series, which premieres its 18th season on Monday, March 4 at 9 p.m. Et on Fox.
Siwa is a dancer, singer and actor who boasts more than 70 million followers across social media and was named one of Time’s “100 Most Influential People” in 2020. Siwa released a debut EP in 2018, and is currently in the studio recording a follow-up. The performer was most recently on Fox as a contestant on Season 2 of “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.

Doug Heffernan won’t be sittin’ in traffic on the Queensborough Bridge tonight — or any time soon, for that matter.

(Editor’s Note – this story has been updated to reflect more information that has been presented about Leah Remini’s name on anti-Scientology websites) The Church of Scientology should be labelled a “criminal enterprise” due to its “pattern of racketeering activity,” say the plaintiffs in the civil harassment case against the David Miscavige-led organization and Danny Masterson. With three more rape claims against the incarcerated That 70s Show actor in a proposed second amended complaint, the accusers want the LA courts to allow mafia-inspired Rico charges to be included in the case now.
At almost the same time, in another lawsuit, the Church seems to have put forth weak evidence for its own argument that the one of the main reasons it harshly criticizes Leah Remini is because the former Scientologist has long been “inspiring violence” against Scientology and its leadership.

As the daughter of the misanthropic waitress Carla (Rhea Perlman) and Nick Tortelli (Dan Hedaya) on "Cheers," the role of Serafina Tortelli was a highly coveted role for many of the young actresses in Hollywood in the early 1990s. The character was ultimately played by Leah Remini, who at the time had been making a name for herself on TV shows like "Who's The Boss," "Living Dolls," and "Saved by the Bell." This was obviously years before she'd become one of the leading sitcom wives thanks to "King of Queens" and a host with "The Talk" and "People Puzzler," but the early career role is still beloved by her fans.
In her 2015 memoir "Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology," Remini claimed the role of Serafina Tortelli on "Cheers" was between her and Jennifer Aniston. Hollywood can be a cutthroat industry, but Remini said that she and Aniston had a friendly rapport...

Thirteen years after CBS’s “The Talk” aired its first episode, the daytime TV staple is still going strong. Created by actress Sara Gilbert, the popular series began as a motherhood-centric discussion program featuring six female co-hosts (aged 35-58) with entertainment backgrounds. Throughout its 14 seasons, the show has evolved to cover a broader scope of topics and has seen 16 full-time hosts come and go, with the current lineup including the first two male panelists. Scroll through our chronological photo gallery to find out more about all of these presenters and their extensive careers.
When “The Talk” debuted in 2010, its hosting panel consisted of Gilbert, Julie Chen Moonves, Sharon Osbourne, Leah Remini, Holly Robinson Peete, and remote participant Marissa Jaret Winokur. Following Osbourne’s departure in 2021, no original stars remained. Today, longest-serving host Sheryl Underwood is flanked by Amanda Kloots, Jerry O’Connell, Akbar Gbajabiamila, and Natalie Morales.

Update, 6:05 Pm: Scientology is claiming the only reason the David Miscavige-led organization has ever attacked and defamed Leah Remini is because she attacked them first – and they want the Scientology and the Aftermath host’s suit against them gutted in the name of the First Amendment.

Tom Cruise was once just as known for his faith in Scientology as he was for his celebrity. There have been reports over the years that the star tried converting a couple of his friends and colleagues to his religion. This allegedly included power couple David and Victoria Beckham.
Tom Cruise might’ve hoped to add David and Victoria Beckham to the church of Scientology
It’s a bit of an open secret that Cruise has tried indoctrinating a few familiar faces into Scientology. For instance, celebrities like Seth Rogen revealed how Cruise tried convincing him to join the religion. Cruise also introduced his friends Will and Jada Pinkett Smith to the community. Although Smith didn’t become a member, he was open to Scientology’s ideas. Which was why he defended Cruise when some criticized his beliefs.

Leah Remini might be best known for playing Carrie Heffernan in The King of Queens, but the famed actor is also a published author. In 2015, Remini published a book about her journey in and out of Scientology and the infamous celebrities she encountered while a member of the religion. Remini even revealed a bizarre meeting with Tom Cruise, where he insisted guests at a dinner party play hide-and-seek with him. Remini’s reaction to the request was kind of hilarious.

In her memoir, Troublemaker, Leah Remini pulled back the curtain on her time in Scientology, but some of her most amusing anecdotes included movie star Tom Cruise. In the book, Remini recalled a particularly eventful dinner party at Cruise’s California compound.

The King of Queens wasn’t a rating juggernaut. Still, the series was popular for CBS in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The show followed the lives of a married couple, Carrie and Doug Heffernan, as they adjusted to life with Carrie’s father, Arthur Spooner, living with them. While the series focused on the trials and tribulations of married life, there was one aspect of matrimony that the show did not explore. Carrie and Doug didn’t have children during the show’s initial run. The production team opted not to give the couple children partly for syndication purposes.

Longtime friends Leah Remini and Jennifer Lopez may not be as close as they used to be.
Rumors of a rift between Leah, 53, and Jennifer, 54, were first sparked last summer when Leah was noticeably missing from Jennifer‘s wedding to Ben Affleck in August 2022.
A source later said that Leah didn’t attend the wedding because she was moving her daughter into college that same weekend.
Leah later raised eyebrows when she attended Jennifer‘s ex-husband Marc Anthony‘s wedding to Nadia Ferreira in January 2023.
On Wednesday (Sept. 27), Michelle Visage – who has been close friends with Leah for decades – appeared on Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang’s Las Culturistas podcast, where she seemingly reignited the falling out rumors between Leah and Jennifer.

Currently behind bars on a 30-year sentence for rape, Danny Masterson is heading back to court.
In a short hearing today in downtown Los Angeles, Judge Upinder Kalra lifted the long stay on the 2019-filed harassment case against the That 70’s Show actor and the Church of Scientology. Also during the 10-minute session, the LA Superior Court judge set a trial start date for the case.

Julie Chen Moonves lamented Sharon Osbourne’s public firing from “The Talk” during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen” Tuesday night.
The “Big Brother” host addressed the controversy after taking a fan questions about the last time she had spoken with her former “Talk” colleague, criticizing the way producers of the daytime talk show handled the aftermath of a tense conversation between Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood that led to the latter’s exit from the daytime talker.
“I think the whole thing was handled really horribly… I don’t think people knew what they were doing and [what they were] getting themselves into. The whole thing was a horrible mess,” Chen Moonves said. “It was [like] watching a train wreck.”
Chen Moonves added she had last spoken with Osbourne eight months after the controversial discussion, after she had seen a photo of daughter Kelly Osbourne looking “healthy and beautiful” that inspired her to reach out.
