We thought readers in the Los Angeles area would be interested in an upcoming signing event for The Victim, with Michael Biehn, Jennifer-Blanc Biehn, and Danielle Harris in attendance.
“Good time girls Annie (Jennifer Blanc) and Mary (Danielle Harris) find themselves in a life and death situation. Annie’s life is put in jeopardy when she is witness to a violent act at the hands of two Sheriff’s Deputies (Ryan Honey, Denny Kirkwood). With her pursuers closing in, she stumbles across Kyle (Michael Biehn, Terminator, Aliens, The Rock), a recluse living in the middle of the woods. A rugged loner, Kyle finds the stillness of the woods comforting. He keeps civilization at arm’s length; that is – until a single knock on his door throws his solitary life into chaos. Two worlds collide in this nerve-fraying thriller that will keep audiences guessing until the very last frame.”

Wtf? Rights to sell The Victim, written, directed by and starring Michael Biehn (The Terminator, The Abyss, Aliens), were purchased by WTFilms. Omg! Rotfl!
This is the directorial debut for sci-fi stud Biehn, who made a big name for himself teaming with legendary director James Cameron early in his career. Biehn stars as a recluse living in the woods who is thrust into the middle of a murder plot.
Seeing all the hats he wore in the production of The Victim, Biehn obviously has put his heart and soul into the film. We've got a lot of faith in him. Let's see if he delivers! Having debuted at Scarefest in Lexington, Kentucky, earlier this month, The Victim goes international in early October for the Sitges Film Festival.

Continuing my "Road to The Victim", this time around I take on actor Denny Kirkwood who plays Cooger in the upcoming grindhouse flick helmed by Michael Biehn. Kirkwood also has a few more projects coming our way including a guest spot on ABC's Cougartown and developing his own script based on a true story. Check out my latest "Versus" with Denny Kirkwood.
Brian S- First off how did you get involved with The Victim?
Denny Kirkwood- Lorna Paul pitched me for the role to Jen. They produced it together and set up a meeting with Michael who wanted to make sure I had the right intensity to play opposite of him. Trust me, I'm intense. Michael saw that, believed in me, and I got the role.
Brian S- Tell me a little about your character.
Denny Kirkwood- He's an undercover narcotics cop but he's really a good guy...

Though slasher movies may seem like a dime a dozen, the good ones are especially hard to locate. Every once in a while though, we get wind of one that looks like it could really deliver. This is one of those cases!
Below you'll find the first still, trailer, and poster art (which totally echoes the slasher flicks of days gone by) for Sage Bannick's The Absent.
The flick was produced by Chris Sivertson (The Lost), Ari Bernstein, Lorna Paul and Sage Bannick, while Mike Josten (Night of the Demons) executive produces. Look for it in limited theatrical release on January 7th with a DVD release to follow soon afterwards.
The Absent centers on Vincent, a high school teacher forced to choose between career and a love affair with Katie, one of his students. The pressure mounts when his twin brother, Oscar, returns to town after serving 25 years in jail for killing their parents.
