The Order has been a sleeper hit for Netflix, winning over fans with its tale of a secret magical society on the campus of Belgrave University, and season two took things to the next level with the Knights of St. Christopher werewolves reluctantly joining forces with the practitioners against a common enemy. With plenty of surprising guest appearances and relationships that didn’t always go the way fans expected them to, this supernatural series has always banked on the unexpected, and the executive producers and actors got together for a virtual panel during Comic-Con@Home to talk about their process and the prospects for a season 3.
Series creator Dennis Heaton somewhat jokingly admitted that the writing process isn’t always perfectly smooth. “We sort of wrote ourselves into a corner last year, which is kind of the fun of doing a show like this,” he said during the panel. “You just sort of go,...

This year’s virtual Comic-Con@Home has announced its schedule for Saturday, July 25. The highlights are below.
The virtual event replaces the annual San Diego Comic-Con, the largest fan convention in North America, which was to be held July 22–26 at the San Diego Convention Center, until the Covid-19 pandemic forced its cancellation.
In June, Comic-Con International — the non-profit organization that oversees Sdcc and its sister event, WonderCon in Anaheim, Calif. — announced it was moving forward with the virtual event on the same dates. This time, however, the event is free and open to all.
The Comic-Con@Home schedule — including Wednesday, July 22, Thursday, July 23, and Friday, July 24 — is being announced daily through Sunday.
Saturday’s events include (all times are Pacific Daylight):
10–11 a.m.
“Cosmos: Possible Worlds” — featuring the host and creators of the Fox docu-series, including host Neil deGrasse Tyson, visual effects supervisor Jeffrey A. Okun, executive producer and director Ann Druyan,...

Netflix released season two of The Order on June 18, and, much like the first season, it is full of the ridiculous antics of Jack Morton (Jake Manley), the Knights of St. Christopher, and the Hermetic Order of the Blue Rose. However, even a season with a magic war, werewolves, and demons couldn't top the outlandish cameos of Beverly Hills, 90210's own Jason Priestley and Ian Ziering in episode eight. In the first season, one of the running jokes is just how many famous people, including Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey, are members of the Order, but we never thought we'd actually meet a few of them.
In the episode, the pair play fictionalized versions of themselves that don't exactly see eye-to-eye. In fact, Ian calls Jason "Mr. I'm-famous-in-Canada" after Jason comments that the other couldn't even save his career with magic - although six Sharknado movies say otherwise.

Syfy’s Van Helsing has been renewed for a fifth and final season, set to properly close out the vampire-slaying series.
Van Helsing has spared its fans from speculating if the December 20 Season 4 finale will stand as the series finale, thanks to Syfy’s announcement of a fifth season, which will serve as the show’s final frame.
Syfy has given a 13-episode order for Van Helsing Season 5, which will premiere sometime in 2020, as revealed by THR. Production is expected to start early into the new year. With the finish line now clearly on the horizon, the series will be able to properly conclude its story, which has greatly evolved its mythology from an initial concept centered on Vanessa Van Helsing (Kelly Overton), who, bearing an innate ability to combat (and even cure) vampires, was brought back to life to serve as humanity’s last hope in a post-apocalyptic near-future.

“Van Helsing” fans will get to sink their teeth into the fantasy drama one last time.
Syfy has announced it is renewing the vampire show for a fifth and final outing. The news comes only a few days ahead of the season 4 finale, which airs on Dec. 20.
“Van Helsing” is set in a world dominated and controlled by vampires. Season 4 continues the story of Vanessa Van Helsing and her band of heroes as they fight to reclaim the world after vampires took over during “The Rising.”
The most recent season of the show is averaging just under 300,000 total viewers through 12 episodes in the Live+Same Day ratings, down from the 380,000 average viewers who tuned in to season 3. Those numbers place it as the second least watched series on the network, only in front of “Happy!” which was canceled after a single season back in June.

San Diego Comic-Con is right around the corner, and I cannot wait to see what kind of awesomeness this year has to offer! I’ve been attending Comic-Con for years! I remember the days where fans could walk in and buy their tickets on the day they arrived. Times have certainly changed as geek culture has grown and exploded in popularity. The full schedule for Comic-Con has been released, so now is the time to start planning your Comic-Con adventure!

Tricia Helfer is sinking her teeth into a bloodsucking new role: The Battlestar Galactica and Lucifer vet will play Dracula in Season 4 of Syfy’s Van Helsing, our sister site Deadline reports. Van Helsing season 4 will dig into the back stories and motivations of the vampires when it returns to Syfy in the fall.
The news that Van Helsing season 4 will be happening on Syfy is exciting for fans and for readers of our overwhelmingly positive reviews, but the departure of showrunner Neil Labute may cause some trepidation. Not to worry, though, as the passing of the torch does not signal dissent in the ranks but rather a new journey for the writer and producer. Labute will move on to the Netflix production of I-Land, another series from Van Helsing's company, Nomadic Pictures, but will also write three episodes of the upcoming season.
