Park City Song Summit will return for its third annual event on August 15th-17th. Taking place in Park City, Utah’s across the Canyons Village Amphitheater, Pendry, and Main Street, the music and wellness festival has tapped headliners My Morning Jacket, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, and Mavis Staples.
Other performers include Anders Osborne & Jackie Greene, Larkin Poe, Eric Krasno & Friends, Cimafunk, Steve Poltz, Tank and the Bangas, Josh Kelley, and Jobi Riccio. Check out the complete lineup below.
As Pcss founder Ben Anderson told Consequence ahead of last year’s event, the “bread and butter” of the event isn’t the performances, but the panel discussions dubbed Labs. With a focus on mental health in the music industry, these talks aim to give artists a platform to speak on the “healing platform of music — wellness plus music equals better lives,” as Anderson put it.

Under a starry western sky last weekend, Park City Song Summit founder Ben Anderson stood onstage and held court in front of an audience of creatives.
“We’re going to change the legacy and culture of music on this mountain,” Anderson howled into the evening chill, his voice echoing far and wide into the surrounding high-desert peaks of Utah. Then he dove headlong into a rendition of “Will the Circle Be Unbroken.”

In a simple twist of fate, when Warren Haynes was toying around with what to call the new Gov’t Mule album, the singer, guitarist, and former member of the Allman Brothers found himself in a conversation about Paul Simon with Evan Bakke, chief engineer at the recording studio Power Station New England.
“He asked me, ‘What’s your favorite Paul Simon song?’ I said, ‘The Sound of Silence’ because that’s the first one that ever moved me when I was seven years old,” Haynes tells Rolling Stone. “He...

Keith Richards and Mick Jagger have had their issues over the years, but Richards’ frustration over Jagger’s solo career threatened to break up The Rolling Stones. The guitarist resented the fact that Jagger prioritized his solo music over a Rolling Stones tour. It didn’t help that he flat-out disliked Jagger’s album. In his memoir, Richards disparaged his bandmate’s album. Here’s the surprising reason he compared it to Mein Kampf.
Keith Richards openly disliked Mick Jagger’s solo album
While The Rolling Stones worked on their album Dirty Work, Jagger simultaneously promoted his debut solo album, She’s the Boss. Richards found this frustrating, at least partly because he didn’t think the album was worth it.
“Mick’s album was called She’s the Boss, which said it all,” he wrote in his memoir Life. “I’ve never listened to the entire thing all the way through.

Keith Richards and Mick Jagger consider each other brothers and, in their decades of knowing each other, have fought as only families can. Their relationship suffered in the 1980s, and they’ve hit many bumps in the years since. Still, they manage to work together in The Rolling Stones. This might have something to do with the fact that Richards has learned to appreciate all that Jagger does, even when he’s frustrated with him. He shared how his own solo career helped with this.
Keith Richards said his solo career gave him a new appreciation for Mick Jagger
In 1986, Jagger opted to work on his solo career instead of touring with The Rolling Stones. While this caused a major rift within the band, it also gave Richards an opportunity to pursue a solo career of his own. He formed the group X-Pensive Winos with Steve Jordan. For the first...

For a one-hit-wonder, Tommy McLain admits he has few complaints.
Back in 1966, he’d climbed into the top 15 with a swamp-lounge version of Don Gibson’s “Sweet Dreams,” which showcased the Louisiana native’s tremulous voice. Elvis Costello and Nick Lowe were fans of his work; Joe Strummer cut a cover of “Before I Grow Too Old,” a Fats Domino B-side associated with McLain (Strummer’s version was called “Silver and Gold”). The drugs and alcohol were behind him, and decades later, McLain was gigging regularly in his home state.

A new documentary series from Axs TV, “If These Walls Could Rock,” will explore some of the most beloved music venues in the country, ranging from the storied intimacy of the Troubadour in West Hollywood to the scenic splendor of Colorado’s Red Rocks amphitheater, the network announced Tuesday.

During the mid Eighties, the relationship between Keith Richards and Mick Jagger hit a historic low, as Jagger tested solo waters. “Mick started to become unbearable.” Richards wrote in his 2010 memoir Life. You could hear the rift: 1983’s Undercover and 1986’s Dirty Work often sounded like lackluster attempts at keeping up with the times.
So in 1988, Richards took advantage of time off in the Stones’ schedule and went into the studio with a crack band he dubbed the X-Pensive Winos, including guitarist Waddy Wachtel, keyboard player Ivan Neville and drummer-producer Steve Jordan.

Grab your favorite frat boy, because Dave Matthews Band is relevant again! Dave and the rest of the guys have kick-started a new Chicago music festival called the Dave Matthews Band Caravan.
The three-day event will take place in an undeveloped community on the south side of Chicago, right on the lake. You can only get three-day passes, which cost between $195 and $825... which will get you the VIP package. You know, for the J.Crew set.
Okay, so we're teasing a bit, but in all honesty, the lineup is pretty amazing. We're strongly considering tie-dying our favorite polo shirt, popping the collar, and hitting Chi-town with a few cases of Fat Tire. Here's the full list, from the press release:
"In addition to Dave Matthews Band, the lineup for the Chicago Lakeside "Caravan" will include David Gray, Ray Lamontagne, O.A.R., Kid Cudi, The Flaming Lips performing Dark Side of the Moon,...

Brooklyn, New York — The Big Easy is ready to take on Brooklyn.
On Friday (December 3), some of New Orleans' signature music artists kick off the Red Hot + New Orleans festival at the borough's Bam Howard Gilman Opera House. The two-day music cabaret will unload legendary acts including Ivan Neville, Irma Thomas, Dr. John, rap duo Partners-n-Crime, world-renowned producer Mannie Fresh and the show's musical director, , with his Orleans Avenue bandmates.
Andrews' first stab as the production's musical director comes just days after snagging his first Grammy nod in the best contemporary jazz album category for his acclaimed CD Backatown. The trumpeter, whose performance style is often described as recalling the "lips of Louis Armstrong," also appeared as himself in a recurring role on the HBO show "Treme" earlier this year.
