WaterTower Music has released the first music to be heard from the upcoming New Line Cinema action adventure “Black Adam,” starring Dwayne Johnson. The first-ever feature film to explore the story of the uncompromising DC antihero comes to the big screen under the direction of Jaume Collet-Serra (“Jungle Cruise”). The Black Adam Theme (from “Black Adam”) by highly respected Grammy Award-winning and Emmy-nominated composer Lorne Balfe has just been released – in advance of the film and soundtrack release. “Black Adam” smashes into theaters and IMAX internationally beginning 19 October 2022, and in North America on October 21, 2022.
Balfe’s vision for the music of Black Adam encompasses an exploration into the back stories that define the characters. The composer commented on that approach. “It was exciting to get into the Black Adam theme, and I really wanted to capture his essence as the DC comic book world’s anti-hero. We had a large...

Dwayne Johnson flew in as DC Super Hero Black Adam during Warner Bros. Pictures theatrical panel at Saturday’s Comic Con panel. This guy know how to make an entrance!
“Hall H, you have been warned. The DC universe will never be the same again,” boomed Johnson.

The Hollywood Reporter said during the panel discussion:
Johnson tackled an age-old question: who would win in a fight, Black Adam or Superman? Earlier in the week, rumors circulated that Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill might show up or send a video message for the panel, but that didn’t come to fruition.
Said the actor of a matchup between the DC characters: “Pound for pound, they are pretty close. I guess it probably all depends on who is playing Superman.

For a post-apocalyptic saga set in a barren future of extreme temperatures and atmospheric toxicity, “Finch” comes with a strangely cozy premise, one that sends the universally beloved star Tom Hanks on an adventurous cross-country road trip alongside an affable homemade robot and an especially cute pooch.
The ever-paternal Hanks plays the eponymous character of Miguel Sapochnik’s impressively scaled science-fiction epic. He is one of humankind’s few survivors of a catastrophic cosmic event that wiped the earth nearly clean of its most vital resources a decade ago. Despite the bleak backdrop, “Finch” manages to stay true to the fuzzy ring of its basic idea, delivering a family-friendly movie that is big-hearted, comfortingly traditional and bolstered by a genuine love of dogs.
In its finest moments, the film even mimics the spirit of our canine companions in some respects, leaning closely into simple yet virtuous notions like hope, trust...

Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman brought star power to this escape-from-Devil’s-Island epic back in 1973. Now Papillon has been remade with Charlie Hunnam and Rami Malek in the roles of two prisoners who plan to bust out of their dehumanizing cage in colonial French Guiana. Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) and Malek (Mr. Robot) are not quite box-office names yet, but their acting chops are undeniable. And this true-life tale, based on the 1969 memoirs of Henri Charrière, still holds your attention. But Danish director Michael Noer, working from a script by Aaron Guzikowski,...

New York — The three 18-year-olds, friends since middle school, are about to go off separately to college this fall. But on Sunday, these avid fans of the Batman film franchise had no doubt where they wanted to be: Together, at the movies, watching "The Dark Knight Rises."
"What happened in Colorado was horrible, but that guy was just a psycho," said Sahil Agrawal, of Queens in New York City, waiting with friends David Kim and Danny Wong for an Imax showing on Manhattan's Upper West Side. "This wasn't going to change our plans."
The three were typical of hordes of fans who packed theaters across the country over the weekend, keeping plans to see the final installment of the phenomenally successful Batman trilogy despite Friday's horrific shooting in Colorado. Despite the occasional jitter – reflected in the choice of a back-row seat, perhaps, or a glance to see what security was...

Real Steel hits UK cinemas tomorrow. It’s a great action movie with more robots than you can shake a stick at. We got to speak with it’s director, Shawn Levy at the Big Screen event back in August about the movie, how it came about and what we can expect from it.
Shawn has previously directed Cheaper by the Dozen and Night at the Museum, and Real Steel was a very different movie to shoot that either of the films. In this interview we also get to hear how he learn to use motion capture and what it was like working with legends Steven Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis who Produced the film.
Real Steel is out tomorrow, 14th October.

HeyUGuys: Can you tell us about how the fight sequences were filmed?

Shawn Levy may not be the biggest name in directing yet – titles under his belt include Cheaper by the Dozen, Date Night and the Night at the Museum franchise – but that could all be about to change with the release of Real Steel this autumn. An underdog sports movie (is there any other kind?) with its focus on a father-son relationship, not to mention some good old fashioned robot-on-robot fighting action, Real Steel is set to entertain the bejesus out of you. Levy was in old London town recently performing promotional duties at Empire’s Big Screen event. Being the very special internet website that we are, Blogomatic3000 was one of the lucky few granted a one-on-one interview with Levy. Here we discuss Spielberg, robots and punching bulls.
So tell us where the concept for Real Steel came from. It’s based on a Richard Matheson short story is it not?...

Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie star in The Tourist together, but who's the bigger star and who can open a movie better? —Lisa M., via Twitter Sure, let's start another celebrity rivalry. They're fun, and they keep sites like mine in business. Also, I did some digging, and took a look at the numbers, and—whoa. I sure did not expect this: Jolie may own the tabloids. Depp may have bigger box office deliveries—and he does. But according to people who actually quantify the fame of stars, Depp and Jolie are neck and neck. "They're both at the zenith of their fame and fandom," says Tom Meyer, president for entertainment for The Marketing Arm, which runs...

Pleasant and soft spoken, director Jaume Collet-Serra does not look like a guy who makes horror movies. In his directorial debut with House Of Wax, he showed an uncanny ability to give the audience what they want (Paris Hilton melting!) With his newest film, Orphan he delivers a fun psychological thriller with an impressive third act payoff.
Esther, a precocious 13 year old Russian orphan (Isabelle Fuhrman), moves in with the Coleman family, as they recover from a horrific tragedy. From that point on, she manipulates them like chess pieces and sets them against each other, before she decides to destroy the family once and for all.
The director had his work cut out for him in trying to find his Esther.
Jaume Collet-serra: "It was a long process. We were looking pretty much everywhere(for Esther). It was Open Casting and I personally didn't see every girl, but the casting director did.
