Season 16 of “The Voice” recently concluded with Maelyn Jarmon from Team John Legend winning the latest title in the long-running NBC competition series. (Watch our video interview with Maelyn.) Although the songbird from Team John was Gold Derby’s odds-on favorite to win, it was Blake Shelton who coached three of the four finalists including country singers Gyth Rigdon, Dexter Roberts and Andrew Sevener. That brings us to an impressive statistic for Shelton. Not only has he won more titles than any other coach, with six total, but he’s also had more runners-up and finalists as well.

In the past 16 seasons, Shelton has coached nine artists to second place and a staggering 24 to the finale. Season 5 was the only one that Team Blake failed to reach the finale altogether.

Brynn Cartelli won season 14 of “The Voice” on Tuesday by edging out Britton Buchanan in one of the closest votes in the history of the reality competition series. Buchanan, who was coached by one-time winning coach Alicia Keys, had been strongly positioned heading into Tuesday’s finale based on his performances on Monday’s final.
Two of the three songs that Buchanan performed on May 21 made the iTunes top 10, thus qualifying for the vote multiplier. He grabbed the top spot with his original single “Where You Come From.” And his cover of the Young Rascals classic “Good Lovin” took the 10th and final slot. (His duet with Keys on “Wake Me Up” by Avicii ranked 19th).
Cartelli, who was mentored by rookie coach Kelly Clarkson, also landed two of her three songs in the top 10 on iTunes. She was in third place on the sales chart with the original tune...

Some stories will shock you – The Sixth Sense for instance – while others are just so painfully obvious that they probably don’t even require media attention. One such story has already appeared today with the news that Andy Carroll was linked with a return to Newcastle, and another has also dropped with similar inevitability.
Hot on the heels of his calling Shola a great servant of Newcastle, and basically suggesting he was “Mr Newcastle”, it has emerged that Alan Pardew wanted to give the Nigerian World Cup player a new contract.
Finally recognising that Newcastle need a striking coach, Pardew sat down with Mike Ashley and “floated” the idea of promoting Shola to a player-coach role. To anyone who witnessed Shola’s training commitment first hand, or heard tales of his legendary work ethic, that suggestion is utterly ludicrous. And that’s not to mention the...

Well, "Voice" fans -- we're near the end. The live Season 4 semi-finals have come to an end, taking two artists from the Top 5 with them. With the Top 3 revealed, the stage has been set for an intense final next week.
The first finalist saved, earning a spot in the finale, is Michelle Chamuel, while the second saved is Danielle Bradbery. The last person saved, entering the Top 3, is The Swon Brothers, meaning both Sasha Allen and Amber Carrington are heading home.
With that, both Adam Levine and Shakira are out of the competition, with no artists left to spur on. So, Season 4 comes down to defending champion coach Blake Shelton and newbie Usher. Do Usher and Michelle stand a chance against Blake and his country brigade? Next week will be a nail-biter.
Did the right three artists make it into the Top 3, "Voice" fans? Or are you disappointed over Sasha and Amber's losses?...

With the highest number of votes in 'Voice' history, season three came to a close on Dec. 18 with a night of great music, a farewell to coaches Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green -- oh yeah, and a winner was crowned, too! Did the right person win? Well, fellow Voice fans, that's all she wrote. Season three is a wrap, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green have said their good-byes, and one finalist was named the winner -- that's not even mentioning all the musical guests who stopped by! What a night! The Music Rihanna opened the show with a pre-taped performance of "Diamonds". She looked stunning, but it's time she choose a new single and start performing that. Agree? Each artist was given the choice to bring back artists from the season to join them one last time. Terry McDermott chose to perform with Rudy Paris, Amanda Brown, Bryan Keith,...

Few were surprised on Tuesday night when Cassadee Pope, Blake Shelton's contestant, won Season 3 of "The Voice." A frontrunner from the beginning, Pope had the experience and cross-genre appeal to charm not only the other coaches, but the viewing public -- and, perhaps most importantly, the iTunes buyers.
In the last performance competition round, Pope sang "Over You," by Miranda Lambert, again. She and Shelton chose Sheryl Crow's "Steve McQueen" for their duet. For her final performance -- and the final performance of the night -- Pope sang "Cry" by Faith Hill, once again leaning into the country genre that helped her connect with her audience.
During the finale, Pope had the opportunity to sing with a personal favorite of hers -- Avril Lavigne. She'd previously sung Lavigne's "I'm With You" during the competition. Additionally, she and Terry McDermott, one of the other finalists (also from Team Blake...

After Monday night's showing on The Voice it was hard to predict who might be cut during last night's elimination. It seemed impossible that America would send Amanda Brown packing, but that's just what happened, along with teen teammate Melanie Martinez. The poised Brown, who had never so much as sang a pitchy note on the show, seemed a shoo-in for the final four until Monday when Trevin Hunte and Terry McDermott went a-gunning and both wound up on the top of the iTunes chart overnight. Brown's elimination seemed to catch many viewers by surprise,...

Two more singing hopefuls got the axe this week as season three of 'The Voice' begins its sprint to the finish line! Did the right two get sent home? The Voice is nearing the end of its season, which means every elimination from tonight on is going to be a difficult one. As the top four were revealed, one more coach joined Christina Aguilera in the losers category with no contestants left in the game! The Music Amanda Brown joined Ne-Yo on his new single "Let Me Love You". I actively dislike Ne-Yo and his whole "whining-as-singing" shtick, but this performance was fun. Amanda sounded great and seemed to be having a total blast, so that's all that matters to me. Terry McDermott and Trevin Hunte teamed up on "Feel Again". Trevin sounded super shaky when he began the song, and the duo had an odd chemistry on stage,...

"The Voice" Top 4 were revealed on Tuesday night after two more contestants were eliminated: Melanie Martinez and Amanda Brown.
"I never expected to get this far and this is beyond what I've ever dreamed of," a brave-faced Melanie said after being eliminated. "I'm just so glad I got to express who I am as an artist and really touch people's hearts because that was the ultimate goal."
Terry McDermott and Cassadee Pope of Team Blake are moving on, along with Team Cee Lo's Trevin Hunte and Nicholas David, who round out the Top 4. Tuesday's results eliminated coach Adam Levine's team from the competition.
Before the results were announced, Nicholas broke some of the awkward tension by reminiscing about "The Voice" cast's good times.

"The Voice" eliminated two contestants on Tuesday night. Melanie Martinez and Amanda Brown went home, leaving Terry McDermott, Trevin Hunt, Nicholas David, and Cassadee Pope as your Top 4 contestants for Season 3. Yes -- this means that like Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine no longer has a horse in the race.
Before getting sent home, Amanda and Cassadee sang Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway" as a duet. Melanie took Christina Aguilera's advice and sang Fiona Apple's "Criminal" with Nicholas -- and it was a truly excellent song choice for her particular vocal chops.
Adam seemed relatively zen about losing his final two contestants. As several of the coaches have pointed out, winning isn't necessarily everything -- several non-winner contestants have gone on to moderate success following "The Voice" runs.

After Monday night's Top 6 performed for America's vote, eliminations were in store for The Voice contestants once again on Tuesday. With only the best of the best still around, two more competitors were told to hit the bricks.

And as for Christina Aguilera, her mind was otherwise occupied with thoughts of a weekend hunt at the My Little Pony Game Preserve, where she hopes to gun down a trophy that can be used as raw material for a breathtaking season finale wig.

It’s only one part of the overall voting process, but if iTunes results are any indication of larger trends, then the results tonight will be perfunctory rather than truly surprising. Last night I predicted that the audience watching “The Voice” wouldn’t vote for a classic rock singer into the Final Four. But there sits Terry McDermott at Number Two on the charts, so I vastly underestimated American’s hunger for Foreigner. Cassadee Pope had an even stronger overall showing, placing both of her songs inside the Top 10. Nicholas David’s cover of “Over The Rainbow” also made it into the coveted Top...

The final six performers did not hold back on last night’s The Voice. It seems like an impossible task to eliminate any of the remaining contestants. Each performer is top notch in his or her respective genre. At this point, it is like comparing donuts to cookies, both are good and it just depends what you are in the mood for.
The performances were all amazing. Trevin Hunte’s rendition of “And I Am Telling You I Am Not Going” was over the top powerful and had the coaches gushing, including the typically reticent to compliment Christina Aguilera who even offered to take Trevin on the road with her. Nicholas David also shined by interpreting “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” in a way that reinvigorated a song that can other times feel stale. Even though Cassadee Pope charting on the Billboard Hot 100 seems like a dream-crusher for the other contestants hoping to win Season Three of The Voice, last night's live show proved the other remaining five ain't going out easy. Most notably, Trevin Hunte pulled himself up from the bottom of the pile with a song that, inexplicably, he labeled "a risk": "And I Am Telling You I Am Not Going." If there is any song that is showboat-ier, full of big notes and soulful bluster, who knows what it is.

I agree with Pat's advice to go all out at this point in the competition, especially if you think you're in the bottom half of the Top 6. The issue here was that this Earth, Wind, and Fire joint was one of the worst possible choices to do something like that. Like Cee Lo has done for most of the season, he chose another played out song that was very difficult to make current. It is possible though, because we saw Colton Dixon knock it out of the park and make it relevant on American Idol.

This season The Voice brought us sequinced casts, mariachi singing, a pale pink cockatoo, Cee Lo in a wicker hat singing with Kermit about the hate crimes that occur when your skin is gree and of course, Domo.
It's hard to believe that in three short weeks this wild, crazy season will be over. Last week we said sad goodbyes to Cody Belew and Dez Duron. And then there were six! The Voice shed another two competitors last night: Cody Belew and Dez Duron. This means that the final six are Cassadee Pope, Nicholas David, Trevin Hunte, Amanda Brown, Melanie Martinez, and Terry McDermott. As the competitors get closer and closer to the finale, it becomes more difficult to determine who will end up on top. It was ultimately a difficult night for judge Christina Aguilera as the departure of Dez means that she no longer has a team member in the competition. But, that doesn’t mean she’s not already getting behind another competitor. In the world of Season Three of The Voice, with all its curious talents and fierce girls, Dez Duron's elimination was almost a given – he was too bland, too perfect, too smooth. His elimination leaves coach Christina Aguilera with no members left on her team. It seems that her game plan was to go for palatable, appeal to the teenage girl base that does anchor the show – but she misunderstands what a girl wants, what a girl needs. What Team Xtina failed to figure on was that girls would rather...

Monday night on The Voice, the coaches were confident, but some of the contestants were seeing green. After Amanda Brown and Trevin Hunte opened with Lady Gaga's "Marry the Night," the first save was revealed. An ecstatic Cassadee Pope from Team Blake celebrated her win, before Cee Lo Green treated viewers to another surprise - a duet with Kermit the Frog to the signature Muppet tune, "Bein' Green." Voters also rescued Team Adam's Amanda Brown. After reveling in her victory, Melanie Martinez, Nicholas David, Terry McDermott and Bryan Keith joined her for a rendition of Plain White T's "Rhythm of Love.

Contestants on The Voice already have the talent, but to make it to the top, they need the perfect song. On Monday night's show, Coach Cee Lo Green anticipated that at this point in the competition, song choice would be the ultimate factor in determining the next star. Now, hear from the competitors themselves:
Team Blake . Terry McDermott sang Blake Shelton's "Over"
"Me and Blake went back and forth and I'd said I wanted to do something different," he said of the song choice. "He suggested his song – and the second I heard it I was like, "That's it!

The results are in! "The Voice" eliminated two more contestants: Dez Duron of Team Christina and Cody Belew of Team Cee Lo.
The Top 6 are: Cassadee Pope and Terry McDermott (Team Blake); Melanie Martinez and Amanda Brown (Team Adam); and Nicholas David (and his bun) and Trevin Hunte (Team Cee Lo).
With Dez's elimination, Christina Aguilera no longer has any contestants in the running to win Season 3 of "The Voice."
The real treat of the night was Cee Lo Green bringing together his teams from three seasons to perform his song "All I Need Is Love" with the Muppets. Vicci Martinez, Tony Vincent, Nakia, Jamar Rogers, MacKenzie Bourg, and more sang with Cee Lo in Las Vegas and then Kermit and Cee Lo -- clad in a mirrored green ensemble (hat included) -- sang "It's Not Easy Being Green." It brought Fozzie to tears.

It’s time for another elimination episode of “The Voice”, or, as I like to call it, the “Carson Daly Puts Hopefuls Through The Weekly Emotional Ringer” episode. Last week’s unintentional fake-out for Sylvia Yacoub might have been the most awkward moment of the season that didn’t involve the one-hit wonder Cupid, so let’s hope the producers of this show have coached Daly on how Not to impart information tonight. Two are going home tonight, and last night I predicted those two would be Dez Duron and Terry McDermott. Cassadee Pope and Melanie Martinez enter the episode both still charting...

America sent two more artists home tonight, amid a flurry of standout musical performances, including one that involved the Muppets! Read on for more. Tuesday nights on The Voice are always bittersweet. We generally get some great musical performances, like tonight's standout between coach Cee Lo Green and Kermit the Frog, but we also have to say sayonara to two singing hopefuls. And tonight, one coach was left with no one left in the game! The Music Amanda Brown and Trevin Hunte opened the show with Lady Gaga's "Marry The Night". Inspired idea to bring these two back together after their show-stopping duet during the battle rounds, but the song didn't allow much opportunity for the two of them to really let loose. Amanda sure looked like she was having a blast though! The Muppets took over as Cee Lo performed with Kermit! As a giant Muppets fan, this...

On the heels of another entertaining performance show Monday night, The Voice pared its field down by two aspiring stars once more. Eight came into the night with a dream of being crowned Season 3 champion.
Only six remain right now.
Unlike the previous two weeks, where certain members of the top 12 and 10 felt somewhat over-matched by the stronger singers on the show, there were very few weak links left tonight; still, two had to go.
So who did?
The singers living to battle another week and advancing to the top six:
Team Cee Lo's Nicholas David Team Cee Lo's Trevin Hunte Team Blake's Cassadee Pope Team Blake's Terry McDermott Team Adam's Melanie Martinez Team Adam's Amanda Brown
The singers headed home after a terrific run on The Voice:
Team Cee Lo's Cody Belew Team Christina's Dez Duron
Too bad for those two fellas, but not entirely surprising. In a field this strong,...

With only eight contestants performing this week, "The Voice" is growing more competitive -- and tonight, two singers were sent home. Cody Belew and Dez Duran were voted out of the competition. Since Dez was Christina Aguilera's last remaining contestant, she's officially the first coach knocked out of the running. Belew was on Team Cee-Lo Green, but with Nicholas David and Trevin Hunte still in the competition, Cee-Lo still has a shot at the prize.
Along with Dez and Cody, Trevin and Terry McDermott (from Blake Shelton's team) were in the bottom four.
As his final performance on the show, Dez teamed up with Cassadee Pope to sing "I Hate That I Love You" by Rihanna and Ne-Yo. On Monday, he sang "U Smile" by Justin Bieber, but unfortunately, the legions of Beliebers didn't show up to buy his song on iTunes.

“Vodka. Anything fried. The Golden Girls.” Leave it to Blake Shelton (discussing his pre-performance rituals) to score the funniest zinger of The Voice‘s Season 3 Top 8 results show — no small accomplishment, considering select members of The Muppets gang dropped by to hang out with Cee Lo Green. (Let’s just be thankful Blake didn’t specifically mention pork rinds, or else the most charming member of the show’s panel might’ve been dispatched by a Miss Piggy karate chop!)

The top eight singers took the stage on last night’s The Voice in an attempt to convince viewers they should be voted through to the top six. After the show, the competitors talked with theTVaddict.com about their performances, how they spent the holidays, and what it feels like after losing Sylvia Yacoub and Bryan Keith last week. After the jump are the video interviews and thoughts on last night’s episode.
Amanda Brown
Amanda performed Adele’s “Someone Like You,” which was an interesting choice as Amanda was previously Adele’s backup singer. The song is typically understated and focuses more on the intensity of Adele’s voice and the emotion it conveys. Amanda put her own touches and transformed it into a rock song. Amanda’s voice was flawless, but the rock element stripped away a lot of the emotion of the original version.

Last night's showdown round between the final eight contestants of Season Three of The Voice was intense. With so much in the balance and still some truly middle-of-the-road performances, it seems to be anyone's guess whom America will keep and who will be sent packing tonight. This week's chills-inducing moment came thanks to Amanda Brown, who charted in the Top 10 on iTunes last week. Monday night she did a rocked up version of Adele's "Someone Like You," turning it into a triumphant power ballad. Singing a song that everyone is...

With the competition as fierce as ever Monday night on The Voice, coach Cee Lo Green predicted what would set the top eight apart.
"It's just about song choices at this point," he said.
And while some of performances had rough edges, the contestants made it their night to step out of their comfort zone with surprising song choices – to mixed reviews.
Ladies' favorite Dez Duron set out to prove he could go the pop route with Justin Bieber's "U Smile." Green and Adam Levine didn't go overboard with praise. But Duron's coach, Christina Aguilera, was floored. "You killed it,...

After a performance from coadge Adam Levine and 50 Cent of their new song "My Life" with Eminem, there was some Adele, pigtail braids, foot tambourines, some piano climbing, fog machines, some Justin Bieber and one of the most absurd things we've ever heard on "The Voice." Thanks, Christina Milian.

During rehearsals, Amanda Brown informs us that until recently, she has always lived with her parents or significant others. She has moved into an apartment by herself and is finally supporting herself financially all by herself for the first time in her life.

Everyone and their brother, including yours truly, was touting last week's The Voice as its best episode ever. But this installment may have featured even better performances.
Sure, there was way too much filler, as the show managed to spread eight solo performances out over two hours, but not a single contestant made me want to throw something at my TV. That's not something that could have been said last Monday.
If you don't come for the singing, you could always come for Carson Daly's quips, like "I was watching Terry and his wife make out. That's good TV." It's hard to imagine that I thought he was a terrible host in season one. Carson is a joy to watch.
Now for the actual reason that we all tune in every week: The Voice's Top 8 were on display Monday night, and a large number of them performed extremely well.
