- First music industry job was at the record store chain Sam Goody.
- Produced & Engineered 11 albums for Neil Young starting in 1972.
- Was hired by Bob Weinstock, founder of Prestige Records, after waiting on him at Sam Goody, to work in the tape library.
- Received his first producer credit on Dave Pike's "Bossa Nova Carnival".
- Co-wrote Chubby Checker's "Hooka Tooka".
- Founded Quadraphonic Studios in Nashville.
- In the late 1970's and early 1980's he was a consultant to Stanford University's Computer Center for Research in Music & Acoustic. This team built the first all-digital recording studio.
- In the mid-1970's he co-developed the D-Zap which is used by live sound pros to detect gear that wasn't properly grounded.
- Founded His Master's Wheels recording studio in San Francisco.
- In the late 1980's he co-founded Artificial Intelligence Resources Inc. to create AirCheck, an automated system for tracking songs' radio airplay. The company was sold to Radio Computing Services in the 1990's.
- In 2011 he joined the facility of Elon University as a Visiting Distinguished Scholar in Music Technology.
