To clarify right away, James Bond, Jr. (Corey Burton), the title character from a barely-remembered 007-adjacent 1991 animated series, is not the son of James Bond. More confusingly, James Bond, Jr. is actually the nephew of James Bond. "He learned the game from his uncle James," the theme song makes very clear. This means that James Bond did indeed have a brother, but also that his brother was named James as well ...?
As of this writing, "James Bond Jr." is the only TV adaptation to date of Ian Fleming's ultra-popular James Bond book series. It came at a fascinating time in the history of the James Bond franchise, as Timothy Dalton's two-film run had come to an end, and a messy rights dispute behind the scenes kept Bond off the big screen for years. EA's boss says "linear" games are less popular with gamers than they once were. Is the end nigh for cinematic games like Uncharted?
Huge games that last for dozens of hours. Mobile games that can fill a few idle minutes. Shooter epics that take in small armies of players, and intimate experiences that pit a single mind against a fiendish puzzle. Technology has given rise to a multitude of genres and all kinds of videogames - far more than anyone could have even dreamed of back when the medium was still in its infancy in the 1970s.

The deals have been divided into days, with the first deals going live today
If you’ve got kids, or even adults who are young at heart, there is no better gift than Lego.
From Star Wars to DC Comics, Marvel and even Frozen, there’s likely to be a set to suit anyones tastes and hobbies, and for five days, starting today, many of these sets are available directly from Lego with at least 20% off in what is being called Lego's Brick Friday and Cyber Monday event.
The deals have been divided into days, with the first deals going live today. As a result, the 20% won’t show on the Rrp until the day that particular deal goes live - and the deals run for that day only where listed. Some sets will then be available for the full five days, and others will have more than 20% off.

The beta of Destiny 2 opened last week, and we have a few thoughts...
I stopped playing Destiny about eight months ago, but despite that I’ve managed to clock in over 50-days of playtime! While many modern games struggle to deliver 15 or 20 hours of gameplay, I’ve spent over 1,200 hours in the company of my fellow guardians, battling through a confused and fragmented, yet ultimately compelling universe. Even when you consider that I would have spent around £125 on the game and expansion packs, that’s a pretty incredible return on investment.
When I finally kicked my Destiny habit I found myself playing some other great games that I may have otherwise missed – Zelda: Breath Of The Wild, Resident Evil 7, Dishonored 2, to name but a few – but as Michael Corleone once said, just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!

I did feel that there was a bit too much focus on the "attitude" of each individual. Yes, the original series...

With E3 wrapped up, it’s given us a chance to look back at the show’s big reveals and previews. Like every year, gamers were treated to a wealth of new trailers to feast their eyes on, but some were certainly more impressive than others. Come inside as I break down the coolest trailers from E3 2017!
The best part (for me personally anyway) of any E3, is the sheer amount of new game trailers we get to see. Trailers are our window into the game world, offering up our first looks at what’s to come, or new things to look forward to. They’re specifically designed to generate/build hype and some are more effective than others.
As I have done in years past, I’m here to talk about some of the best trailers E3 gave gamers this year. There was plenty to choose from (and yes, I’m including trailers launched in the week or so before the event that were created for the show), so I made my picks off of the hype factor, the cool factor, and overall presentation.
God of War
The new God of War reboot kicked off Sony's press conference last year and blew people away. This time around, we got another look at Kratos' Nordic adventure with a swanky new gameplay trailer, that also gives us some hints/clues towards the story. We know his son and that relationship is an integral part to the story, but this trailer finally gave us some insight to that. While we will still have to wait until next year to play it, at least we got a release window and footage to showcase how the development team really wants to make God of War special again.
Anthem
We got our first glimpse at Anthem this year and I'm already excited to get my hands on it. Sure, I know it's basically Bioware's version of Destiny, but I'm 100% okay and on board with it. If they can bring their brand of storytelling to that Mmo/shooter format, I'm definitely eager to see more. Bioware always does a stellar job crafting engaging, epic feeling trailers, and Anthem's reveal was no different.
Star Wars: Battlefront II
I've made no secret about my disappointment in the first Star Wars Battlefront game and it's lack of story content. EA made it crystal clear they heard the complaints from fans in that regard and are committed to providing a great single-player experience along with the multiplayer for Star Wars: Battlefront II. While we saw a story trailer previously, the new E3 trailer mixed in more of the multiplayer elements, showing off the Prequel content and some exciting hero battles. All in all, the trailer left me feeling like issues had been properly addressed and I'm eager to see how it plays when it launches.
The Evil Within 2
Everyone knows I'm not a huge horror fan (movies or games), mostly because I'm a big chicken. I'm sure the neighborhood heard my echoing screams when I was playing Alien Isolation when it released...So it may seem odd that I've picked The Evil Within 2 to sit on my top trailers list. Despite the fact that I'll likely not play it, there's no denying how effective this reveal trailer is. It hits all the right notes, striking a solid balance between gory horror, and full-on suspense. It's enticing to fans of the original and newcomers alike.
Skull & Bones
Perhaps I'm just a sucker for Pirate related video games (I'm unreasonably excited for Sea of Thieves), but the announcement trailer for Ubisoft's Skull & Bones really caught my attention. The cinematic reveal showed off a swashbuckling endeavor, where you can take to the high seas and live out your wildest Pirate dreams. Coupled with the excellent gameplay demo afterwards and it's hard to deny the hype for this game.
Dragon Ball FighterZ
Bandai Namco's latest Dragon Ball Z related video game made it's debut at E3, and takes the franchise back to its more traditional roots. Unlike the latest Xenoverse games, story isn't the big focus, and FighterZ looks to play out like a more traditional 2D fighting game...and it looks so gorgeous. The art style feels like it's pulled straight out of the beloved anime with all the over the top action fans have come to expect. While it was a quick announcement trailer it was enough to get fans excited.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps
One of the most impressive indie games for the Xbox One was Ori and the Blind Forest. The art style is stunning and brougth together solid gameplay and an engaging story. As such, it was great to see a trailer for the sequel, Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Beyond the excitement of a sequel, the trailer is just well crafted and beautiful to watch...I mean, how in the Hell does a trailer make me get all choked up?!
Beyond Good & Evil 2
Ubisoft closed out their press conference this year with a surprise, a cinematic trailer for Beyond Good & Evil 2. The long gestating sequel has been the source of much frustration over the years with a constant "will they, won't they" back and forth. Despite rumors about it making an appearance at just about every E3 for the last several years...it finally happened. Moreso, it's ridiculously good looking, with sleek animation and characters that already feel interesting. Even if you haven't been among the fans anxiously awaiting the game, the trailer surely caught your attention.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
The new trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 gave us a much better look at the upcoming game and the new cast of characters/environment we'll be traversing. Where the first trailer gave us a quick glimpse at the big RPG, the new E3 trailer introduces the story, confirming the game won't return us to the Bionis or Mechonis, but forging it's own path in a similar style. Either way, it was a great look at the characters and villains.
Horizon: Zero Dawn - The Frozen Wilds
Thankfully, we didn't have to wait long to get our first look at story Dlc for Horizon: Zero Dawn. The action open-world action game is among the best games I've played this year (and the past decade), and after sinking a ridiculous amount of hours into it, I'm still eager for more. The Frozen Wilds returns gamers to that world, with Aloy back for more in a new locale, with new robot beasts to take on. Sign me the Hell up!
There are some notable omissions, but I purposefully chose to leave off videos shown during the event that played out more as gameplay demos than actual trailers, which means Insomianc’s Spider-Man and Days Gone were left out even though they were insanely cool. These are the game trailers that had me the most excited during the event, which ones did you enjoy the most from E3?

The doors to the La Convention Center have officially closed and another E3 has been put in the books. As we reflect on what was one of the most intriguing E3’s in recent memory, we honor the games that got us excited, that made us say “wow” with our Cinelinx Best of E3 Award! Last year You picked The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as our inaugural winner. Who will win it in Year 2? See below and cast your vote!
Strange Brigade
“Strange Brigade is a four player co-op or single player action, puzzle, and hoard game. In a way, it reminds me of a less-narrative-based Uncharted game. Definitely a blast to play.” - Eric
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
Speaking of Uncharted, it looks like Naughty Dog has done it again with The Lost Legacy. They managed to make to side-characters and make them the stars in their own incredible adventure.

Doctor Who series 10 episode 10 is The Eaters Of Light. And we've been digging into it right here...
Well, I don’t know about you, but I’ve waited for 54 years for Doctor Who to explain why crows sound like they do, so now that they’ve finally tackled that important issue it’s time for our weekly round-up of callbacks, similarities and generally interesting things taken from this week’s episode. And as ever, if you’re sitting thinking ‘How can he have missed that?!’ (the answer is usually ‘ineptitude’), leave it down in the comments below…

On top of getting to play around with Wolfenstein II and Call of Duty WWII, our E3 team also had the chance to test out Assassin's Creed Origins and Bungie's Destiny 2. Come inside to see what we thought of the new titles and how well they played in our demo time.
Ubisoft - Assassin's Creed Origins:
I sat down for a demo of Assassin's Creed Origins with two fellow press members and the Lead Game Designer. He walked us through a general lay out of the new control scheme and then let us have our way about the quest at hand.
Points of interest/Questions
Assassin's Creed Origins has revamped the counterattack combat system that’s subsisted through a 10+ title franchise. This mechanical change trickles down and affects the entire control scheme. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, and generally it made combat feel more fluid and mobile (dependent on...

Bringing the curtain down on Sony’s admittedly brief E3 presser this evening was Insomniac’s Spider-Man, which debuted its first gameplay trailer and a surprise cameo from Miles Morales. At almost nine minutes in length, it’s an extensive preview of the studio’s licensed title, one that will no doubt stoke the embers of excitement ahead of that newly-announced 2018 launch window.
It now joins the growing list of PS4 exclusives to fall within the same nebulous release corridor (see: Detroit: Become Human, God of War, the Shadow of the Colossus Remaster), so it’s small wonder why fans are beginning to feel a little anxious. One look at the calendar tells us that, barring Gran Turismo Sport and Level-5’s Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, Sony has been left facing another fall window that is relatively sparse on the exclusives front. Here we are – the penultimate episode of Grimm, setting us up for the big showdown with Nick throwing down with an ancient demon in a bid to prevent the end of days.
The writers threw a lot at us, including a returning favourite, the death of others (maybe), a showdown with the Zerstorer, and a potential explanation as to the Stick of Destiny’s powers.
First things first – Diana pulled Nick and Eve back through the portal without realising the Zerstorer planned to hitch a lift back to Portland too. It appears that his plan was to target Eve, knowing Nick would follow, and eventually lead them to potential child-bride Diana.

It’s the first true open-world Zelda game, Windwaker was to an extent but not to the level of Breath of the Wild.

Ang Lee made history by releasing Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk in 120 frames per second, but groundbreaking technology doesn’t always instantaneously catch on. Much like how my first-generation Android smartphone worked better as a launching point than an everyday device, Lee’s hyper-realistic wartime drama will be remembered for progressing forward innovation – not execution.
Everything feels too real, to the point of breaking fourth walls into some more pristine reality. Actors are captured like they’re being dangled in a shadowbox before you, dancing like puppets instead of existing in some cinematic fantasy world. Realism becomes a prison, constricting Lee’s creative license to shot selection alone. When does a movie stop being just a movie?
Joe Alwyn stars as the titular Billy Lynn, a Texas war hero spending two weeks touring America with his overnight-sensation Bravo company. It’s Billy who’s caught on camera risking his...

Gwen Stefani came close to landing Angelina Jolie's role in 2005 film "Mr. & Mrs. Smith", according to the singer.
The No Doubt star reveals she went on "a bunch of auditions" for the role of assassin Jane Smith in the action thriller, and feels she "almost got it".
However, she is unsure if she would have signed on for the part had she known she would be cast opposite Brad Pitt, who portrayed rival contract killer John Smith.
"(It was) very competitive and I wanted to do it, but I wanted to do music more," she tells U.S. radio host Howard Stern.
Gwen previously discussed her audition in a 2008 interview with Vogue magazine, revealing she was thrilled she was being considered alongside Hollywood superstar Angelina.
"It was between me and Angelina Jolie, and I'm like, 'Oh, great. I got a shot here'," she told the fashion magazine at the time.

With E3 2016 now at an end we can take a breath and look back at all the fun surprises and reveals this year had in store. Like everyone, we had a list of expectations heading into E3, but there are several games that missed the show which makes us pretty sad. Come inside to check out our list.

The Rise of the Tomb Raider PS4 (Or Expansion)
I don’t know if people realize it, but The Rise of Tomb Raider is set to come out on PS4 sometime this year. So far all we have is a “holiday 2016” time frame, and Sony could actually use the helping hand with their lackluster Fall lineup.
All that being said I was extremely scared that Sony cooked up some type of “exclusive” deal for an expansion. I own the game on Xbox One and I...

This weekend we catch up with some of our favourite underwater friends as Nemo, Marlin and the gang return in Finding Dory! It seems like only yesterday when Finding Nemo was playing in theatres but it was actually 13 years ago! Yeah I know, I feel old too. Dory is about a forgetful fish (Ellen DeGeneres) who with the help of Nemo and Marlin (Albert Brooks) begin the journey to find Dory’s parents voiced by Eugene Levy and Diane Keaton. Technology has come a long way since 2003. A couple months ago, I was lucky enough to tour Pixar studios as they were putting the final touches on Finding Dory. All the animators, designers and creators were so excited about all the new ways they were able to bring this movie to life. From the details of the fish, to how realistically the water moves, to bringing newcomer Hank the octopus to life,...

Before we get to Finding Dory, let's take a minute to discuss Piper, the latest short from Pixar Animation Studios.
In what may be the most adorable animated short yet, Piper is a simple, heartwarming story. There is such attention to detail when looking at the ruffled feathers of our titular character. Growing up takes courage, and we watch this little guy discover how to feed himself. It's difficult to say more without robbing you of a reason to watch, but try hard to fight the urge to say "aww" out loud. But, don't hold it against yourself if one sneaks out.
Synopsis: Written and directed by Andrew Stanton, Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) is a wide-eyed, blue tang fish who suffers from memory loss every 10 seconds or so. The one thing she can remember is that she somehow became separated from her parents as a child. With help from her friends Nemo and Marlin,...

If you were excited about Spider-Man getting a new game, then you might also be excited to hear that more studios are working on more games.
In an interview with Polygon Marvel's Jay Ong, Vice President of games, there are more titles coming.
"When I joined Marvel two years ago, I came in with a mandate to usher in a new era for Marvel Games."
"Is [Spider-Man] a signal of things to come? Oh, yes. Absolutely. And we can’t wait to tell the world about it."
There is no confirmation, but this could be why Activision had been losing licenses to Marvel characters over recent years. It seems as though Spider-Man and Wolverine have also ended, and Activision has removed almost all Marvel character based games from their website.
This means licenses can land elsewhere if another studio would like to make the games. Where exactly? Well Jay Ong confirmed that Telltale, Sony, and WB are all confirmed studios to be working on something, but that's not all. He said there are deals elswhere that he can't announce just yet, but we can hear more later this year.
It's safe to say that Marvel titles really haven't been great in a long while. It's been some time since the X-Men Destiny and Ultimate Alliance. This is why Marvel is being selective of partners and licenses, insuring a quality standard, and hopefully their own Batmah Arkham title will arise. Could Spider-Man from Insomniac be that game?
"The question is, 'How we can get there?' The thing we landed on is to be really selective with who we partner with. Extremely selective. Right now I would say that out of every 10 opportunities we look at, we maybe do one."
Ong went on to state that the Activision formula of tying games to movie releases will not be a focus. The upcoming Spider-Man title has nothing to do with the upcoming film release, Homecoming. However if the releases hit around the same time, it's great, but not part of the building process. They want each game to be awesome.
This is fantastic news because we can see where these franchises go. I'm also happy that Marvel is licensing per product instead of throwing the entire Marvel license under one belt.

Dory just needs a little help from some new friends in the new trailer for Pixar's "Finding Dory."
The forgetful blue tang fish (Ellen DeGeneres) is on a quest to find her parents in the sequel to "Finding Nemo," but her journey goes awry when she's taken by well-meaning humans to a marine life institute. There, she makes some new friends, like Hank the Octopus (Ed O'Neill), Destiny the whale shark (Kaitlin Olson), and Bailey the beluga whale (Ty Burrell).
The trailer shows that "Finding Dory" will be much like its parent movie, with its colorful characters and emotional storylines. There's the typical gentle Pixar humor — in the form of sea lions voiced by Idris Elba and Dominic West — and darker beats, in the form of some possible enemies. The movie looks like a worthy follow-up to one of Pixar's most iconic movies.
"Finding Dory" opens in theaters June 17.
