Cameras have been rolling on The Last of Us season 2 for a while now, and we finally have some semi-decent set photos. These offer fans a first look at Bella Ramsey's Ellie with her girlfriend, Dina (played by Madame Web and Superman star Isabela Merced).
We're going to tread carefully here for fear of spoilers, but those of you who have played The Last of Us Part II video game will likely be able to figure out where in the season this sequence likely takes place.
As you can see below, Ellie and Dina are on horseback and outside the Weston's Pharmacy building.
While some fans have argued that Ramsey still looks too young, she's now 20 and it's been close to two years since shooting wrapped on season 1. These episodes will provide Ramsey with a lot of heavy material to seek her teeth into, though we're confident the Game of Thrones...

MCU’s Iron Man has been one of the most important and beloved characters in the Marvel universe, perhaps because of Robert Downey Jr’s performance. But several fans believe that apart from Downey Jr’s work, there are a few scenes and characters in the movie that completely transform the hero’s story in the franchise, and give birth to many fan theories.
MCU’s Iron Man 2008
One such epic example of an Iron Man fan theory surrounds a major Daredevil character. Paving the way in Iron Man’s MCU timeline, a character appears as a reporter by the name of Ben, in Stark’s press conference at the end of Jon Favreau’s Iron Man. Now, bizarre theories suggest that it could be Ben Urich from the Daredevil universe who was brutally murdered by Kingpin. Did Iron Man really resurrect this Daredevil character?
Did Ben Urich Supposedly Appear in Iron Man?...

Season 2 of the HBO series adaptation of the video game The Last of Us has officially started filming in Vancouver, Canada, and a while back (before filming began) the show’s star Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie, said that one of the things she was most looking forward to about the new season was getting the chance to play out “the Dina storyline”. Last month, we learned that Isabela Merced – who can be seen in this weekend’s release Madame Web – had been cast as Dina, Ellie’s new romantic interest. While attending the world premiere of Madame Web, Merced took a moment to confirm that she has already done a day of work as Dina.
Merced told Deadline, “The stars are truly aligning. I had several of my friends that I’ve worked with in this industry for a long time join the cast. I can’t say who just joined.

Almost four years later, Joel’s death in the first act of The Last of Us Part II remains one of the most shocking twists in video game history. Led to believe by the game’s marketing that Joel would be a major part of the sequel, back alongside Ellie, who’s on a quest for revenge, fans weren’t expecting to have to say goodbye to this character so soon. But as revealed by the new documentary Grounded II: Making The Last of Us Part II, they could have been made to say farewell a lot earlier than Part II.
The doc reveals that Joel actor Troy Baker actually pitched that the character’s death should come at the end of the first game after Joel kills Marlene and the Fireflies in Salt Lake City. Baker felt that if Joel wasn’t punished for committing such a heinous act...

Season 2 of the HBO series adaptation of the video game The Last of Us is expected to start filming in Vancouver, Canada sometime in February, and in the build-up to the production Deadline has learned the names of the directors who will be at the helm of the new episodes. The first season consisted of nine episodes that were handled by seven different directors, and it looks like season 2 is going to be split between seven directors as well. Showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann (who was also creative director on the video game source material) will be directing episodes, and the line-up also includes Mark Mylod, who just won an Outstanding Drama Directing Emmy for HBO’s Succession (he also directed the movie The Menu and worked with HBO on Game Of Thrones and Entourage); Kate Herron, who directed the entire first season of the Marvel / Disney+ series Loki; Stephen Williams,...

Season 2 of the HBO series adaptation of the video game The Last of Us is expected to start filming in Vancouver, Canada very soon, and Pedro Pascal is set to reprise the role of Joel when the new episodes start filming. Season 2 is based on the video game The Last of Us Part II, and while Pascal made his way down the red carpet at the Sundance Film Festival premiere of his movie Freaky Tales, Deadline took the opportunity to ask Pascal if his character arc on the show will differ from what Joel goes through in the video game source material.
Pascal answered, “Does it deviate from the game? That’s a good question. I think that they’re always going to find ways to build on the incredible source material that they have, and surprise us with how they can use that material in a different format like a television show.

Starting in 1994, Channel 4’s exemplary reality TV series Time Team captured the imaginations of Saturday teatime audiences, coaxing them into the rich and fascinating landscape of the UK’s distant past with the promise of treasure troves of knowledge – and sometimes just plain old treasure – lying just beneath our feet.
Esoteric archaeological terms like ‘geophysics’ and ‘dendrochronology’ quickly entered the common language, as a nation’s eyes were opened to stories that had lain buried sometimes for centuries, sometimes for millennia. Time Team’s brief was to place the viewer side-by-side with the archaeologists in the trenches as they worked, seeing what they saw, sharing in their discoveries, and feeling what they felt. There were no gimmicks save the central one – the team had only three days in which to survey and investigate a site – which was necessary to prevent episodes lasting over six weeks, and the show’s editors having a mental breakdown.

This article contains spoilers for "Echo."
It's long been debated whether the Netflix Marvel series were Marvel Cinematic Universe canon. The shows advertised themselves as being connected to the MCU movies; "Daredevil" obliquely referred to the alien invasion of New York City in "The Avengers" as "the incident," and criminal overseer Wesley (Toby Leonard Moore) even quipped to some goons, "If [Daredevil] had an iron suit or a magic hammer, maybe that would explain why you keep getting your asses handed to you." However, these connections were very much a one-way street.
Since then, though, Vincent D'Onofrio returned as Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin on "Hawkeye," while Charlie Cox reprised his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and "She-Hulk." Cox and D'Onofrio are both returning for the new series "Daredevil: Born Again," as is Jon Bernthal as the Punisher.

Charlie Dominici, former singer of progressive-metal titans Dream Theater, has died at the age of 72. His passing was reported on Facebook by Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy.
Dominici was Dream Theater’s second singer, replacing original vocalist Chris Collins, and was a member of the band from 1987 to 1989. His vocals appear on Dream Theater’s debut album, 1989’s When Dream and Day Unite. Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four stands before the Illuminati, a gathering of the smartest and most influential figures in the Marvel Universe, to make a declaration. “Everything dies,” he states. “You. Me. Everyone on this planet… This is simply how things are. And I accept that.”
This scene from New Avengers #1 (2013), written by Jonathan Hickman and penciled by Steve Epting, perfectly captures Reed Richards, one of the most important characters in Marvel history. It shows Richards approaching a catastrophic, multiversal problem with cool reason and intellect. It feels undeniably modern, building up to the universe-shaping events in Secret Wars, while still remaining faithful to the sci-fi influences that drove Jack Kirby and Stan Lee’s original vision in 1961.
And with Avengers: Secret Wars already planned as the capper to Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this is the type of Reed Richards that the MCU needs.

When showrunners Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin were gearing up to go into production on the first season of the HBO series adaptation of the video game The Last of Us, there was a lot of talk about – and fan support for the idea of – Kaitlyn Dever from Booksmart and No One Will Save You playing the Ellie character. Dever even participated in a table read for the show… but she didn’t end up being in it. Now Druckmann and Mazin are preparing for The Last of Us season 2, which is (according to Production List) expected to start filming in Vancouver, Canada on January 7, 2024. For this season, they’ll have to find someone to play the Abby Anderson character from the video game The Last of Us Part II. Following news that the Writers’ Guild of America and Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers have reached a tentative deal, Hollywood is starting to prepare for its comeback. While some productions were in the midst of filming when the WGA strike happened, others were in the early planning stages — like “The Last of Us” Season 2.
“Very proud of the WGA and its membership, and excited to get back to work on The Last of Us Season 2,” showrunner Craig Mazin wrote on Threads Monday. “The strike has not yet been officially lifted, but the second it is, we will spring into action!”
In a follow-up post, the writer clarified that Season 2 is still in preproduction, and writing will resume on the HBO drama series.
“I hope to have an update for start of filming before too long,” Mazin added.
Mazin previously told TheWrap that prior to the beginning of the WGA strike,...

Although season 2 of the HBO TV series adaptation of the video game The Last of Us (read our review Here) isn’t expected to start airing until sometime in 2025, the actors thought they would start filming the new episodes relatively soon – possibly even by the end of this year. But then the WGA and SAG strikes hit, and the longer they go on, the more a 2023 start date seems very unlikely. With that said, showrunners Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin have both told Entertainment Weekly that The Last of Us season 2 is ready to go as soon as the strikes end.
Mazin said, “We were able to map out all of season 2. And I also wrote and submitted the script for the first episode and sent it in [to HBO] around 10:30 or 10:40 p.m. right before the midnight [makes a “kajoomph” sound] and the strike began. … I think it’s becoming essentially a near...

HBO’s adaptation of “The Last of Us” scratched the surface on the video-game franchise’s massive world – which will continue to unfold when the drama series eventually returns for its second season.
But outside of Joel and Ellie’s main narrative, which co-creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann have previously said could span across multiple seasons, the pair have not had discussions about the potential for spin-offs that could further expand on the world’s other characters.
“We haven’t talked about that specifically because we’re so focused on just telling this main narrative. I’m not against the idea of other shows that may draw from these characters or that world,” Mazin told TheWrap in an interview in accordance with WGA guidelines and facilitated through his personal publicist. “I don’t know how much more ‘The Last of Us’ I personally would be able to do. I mean,...

This article contains spoilers for the first season of "The Last of Us" and "The Last of Us Part 2."
They always say that if there's a question mark in a headline then the answer to whatever that question is "No." So let's get that out of the way right up front. Will the original voice and performance capture actor from "The Last of Us Part 2" video play the main antagonist, Abby, in "The Last of Us" season 2? I can pretty confidently say no.
Laura Bailey performed Abby Anderson in the video game and did a hell of a job, I must say. Abby is a complicated character, full of determined rage and surprising depth and Bailey absolutely captured that in her performance, but there's a slight complication in that she doesn't really embody the character and her unique physicality in the real world.

"I got scammed, Marlene, that's why we're doing this." Cinedigm has revealed a trailer for an experimental indie film titled Giving Birth to a Butterfly, marking the feature directorial debut of Theodore Schaefer. It first premiered in 2021 at the Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal, and is finally getting a proper release after waiting a few years - it's streaming on Fandor this May. "Pure weirdo magic. Like Donnie Darko meets Twin Peaks." After having her identity stolen, a woman, and her son's pregnant girlfriend, bond together on a surreal journey as they attempt to track down the perpetrators. Described by The Austin Chronicle as “a strange and fragile story of family, identity, and the unlikely directions of a search for self," Giving Birth to a Butterfly "mixes melancholy and anxiety with a Lynchian touch" and "takes place in a parallel universe that looks and acts like suburbia, just ever so slightly off.

This post contains spoilers for "The Last of Us" HBO adaptation.
One of the best aspects of HBO's "The Last of Us" adaptation is that showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann have designed the show with several audiences in mind; even though season 1 of the show follows the first game's entire plot, there are enough surprises for both hardcore fans and newcomers of the source material. For those who have played the game, you might have recognized plenty of familiar voices throughout the series, such as Merle Dandridge reprising her role as Marlene, or Ashley Johnson as Ellie (Bella Ramsey)'s mother, Anna, in the finale episode's cold open. One of gaming's most recognizable performers, Troy Baker (who originated Joel in the 2013 game) made it into the penultimate episode, "When We Are In Need," this time playing a supporting character in this post-apocalyptic world.

Showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann – who was also creative director on the video games – have said it’s going to take more that one season to bring the story of The Last of Us Part II to the screen… but those who are familiar with the game know that there’s a major event early on that...

The goal Joel has had since The Last of Us‘ premiere is realized in this week’s episode: He finds his long-lost brother, Tommy, hidden away in snowy Jackson, Wyo. Thing is? Tommy doesn’t need saving — but it’s becoming more and more apparent that Joel surely does.
Because the gruff thug who’s seemingly unafraid of everything is starting to realize that he’s very afraid of being the reason Ellie gets killed. Like, so afraid that it’s physically manifesting in his body. But at this late point in the journey… can he let her go?
