Ah, that felt good. They went to Netflix, so we followed. That's right, after years of anticipation, Gilmore Girls finally returned via its highly anticipated revival, A Year in the Life, on Netflix on Nov. 25, inviting loyal fans back into Stars Hollow...as well as the colorful closets of Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory (Alexis Bledel). "Shooting the whole thing was just an absolute treat," costume designer Brenda Maben, who worked on all seven seasons of the series' original run, told E! News of working on the four-episode revival. "Every day I woke up and I was like just, oh goody, I get to go to work today!" Now that all four episodes are out in the world for fans to...

Melissa McCarthy and her bandana are back. In a big-trending Instagram photo posted by Gilmore Girls costume supervisor Brenda Maben, McCarthy, who’s long since made the transition to the big screen since her days as Gilmore‘s favorite chef Sookie St. James, can be seen in Sookie garb for the upcoming Netflix revival Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. Maben’s photo shows a smiling McCarthy with her character’s trademark bandana headband – this one’s purple – along with…...

We were overjoyed when Melissa McCarthy finally confirmed that she would indeed return to Stars Hollow for the "Gilmore Girls" revival, titled "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life." Now, we have our first look at the actress back in character as kooky chef Sookie St. James.
The image comes courtesy of "Gilmore" costumer Brenda Maben, who's been sharing a bunch of behind the scenes photos from the revival on her Instagram account. For her latest sneak peek, Maben took a selfie with Michel (a.k.a. actor Yanic Truesdale) and none other than Sookie herself.

The character (and the actress) looks like she hasn't aged a day since the series wrapped in 2007, and appears wearing one of her signature outfits: a colorful bandana over her hair, and a customized chef's coat. Could this mean that...

It's real. There's proof that Melissa McCarthy will be in the Gilmore Girls revival, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. Yes, we had all the public statements from McCarthy and those involved about Sookie St. James' much hyped return (remember when she said she wasn't asked?), but now thanks to costume supervisor Brenda Maben, there is photographic proof that McCarthy did indeed put that Sookie scarf back on while on set of Netflix's new series of Gilmore Girls movies. The photo below was shared with the very simple caption: "#gilmorecostumesjoylove." Maben also posted a snap with Matt Czuchry who was looking extra dreamy as Logan Huntzberger/himself, also with the same caption....

What does a ballet dancer wear when she’s not en pointe? We looked to ABC Family’s Bunheads for a tip-off. This week, Vegas showgirl-turned-teacher Michelle (Sutton Foster) gave her arches a rest in a pair of subtle nude Canvas Classics from Toms ($44). It’s not the first time the brand has popped up on the show. Michelle also slipped into a pair of stand-out red Canvas Classics during a previous episode.
So, what’s with all the Toms love? “They’re just very comfortable,” says Bunheads costume designer Brenda Maben. And anyway, she adds, “They’re cute.”

Fans of "Gilmore Girls" are excited by creator Amy Sherman-Palladino's return to series TV with "Bunheads," and costume designer Brenda Maben is happy to be working with her again.
"I love the writing first of all," she tells Zap2it of working on "Bunheads," which is about a Las Vegas showgirl who relocates with her new husband to a small town and ends up teaching dance alongside her mother-in-law, Fanny (Kelly Bishop).
"I worked on Gilmore for all those seasons, and it was the writing that attracted me. I like the fact that in "Bunheads" and "Gilmore Girls" the characters are interesting. They are real, they have depth to them, they are not ordinary. They are developed slowly, which I find interesting, too."
That development includes the personal style of the characters.
