Newly minted DreamWorks Animation president Margie Cohn has set her leadership team with two new roles at the Universal-owned shop.
Kristin Lowe has been named chief creative officer in feature films, and Peter Gal has the same role in television. Both will report to Cohn effective immediately, with several other workflow changes at the Burbank, Calif., animation studio.

A live-action adaptation of the beloved Curious George children's books is in the works at Universal, and it has a shiny new director in the form of Andrew Adamson, the man behind the camera for Shrek and The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe (the film, not the BBC version).

Universal is adapting the bestselling children's book, The Terrible Two for the big screen.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the authors Mac Barnett and Jory John will pen the screenplay.
The story follows Miles Murphy, a middle-school prankster who is forced to move to the sleepy town of Yawnee Valley.
In his new school he fully expects to become the top prankster, but comes across some stiff competition.
The book was only released last month, and is the first in a series of four.
Elizabeth Haggard and Kristin Lowe are attached to oversee development on The Terrible Two for Universal.

Universal Pictures has optioned the film rights to “Let It Snow,” a short story collection written by “The Fault In Our Stars” author John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle. Each story is set during a Christmas Eve snowstorm, which means Universal may develop the project as a holiday release. Hogan takes on the job as FX has set The Strain, his collaboration with Guillermo del Toro, for summer, and he adapts Thirteen Hours: A Firsthand Account Of What Really Happened In Benghazi for Paramount, the book that author Mitchell Zuckoff wrote with surviving members of the Annex Security Team who fought the battle that led to the death of four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens. Hogan, whose novel Prince Of Thieves was the basis for the superb Ben Affleck-directed crime thriller The Town, will rewrite the Rockford script originally penned by script team of David Levien and Brian Koppelman. Vaughn is going to play Jim Rockford, in a feature adaptation of the memorable series that ran on NBC from 1974-80 and featured James Garner as the down-and-out private eye.

Exclusive: Universal Pictures is getting serious about Kojak, hiring the scribe team of Neal Purvis & Robert Wade to script a movie around the tough-talking, smooth scalped cop played by Telly Savalas on the CBS series. Vin Diesel, who just wrapped Fast And Furious 6 for the studio, will play the chrome-domed cop in the film, which he’s producing with Samantha Vincent for their Universal-based One Race Films. The series, which ran from 1973-78, was a popular procedural with an iconic cop, and the scribes will re-imagine and contemporize it for the big screen. Warner Bros. Pictures has tapped Mike Mitchell to direct the Adam Schroeder-produced live-action comedy The Fraud Prince. Based on a Dan Forman-Paul Foley script the studio acquired in 2001, Fraud is described as a noirish detective tale set in a fairy tale world. It revolves around a young lady-in-waiting who tries to uncover the truth about a princess' mysterious suitor with the help of the kingdom's first private eye. The project is being produced by Schroeder through his Warners-based production banner. Warners production execs Polly Cohen and Kristin Lowe are overseeing for the studio. Mitchell's latest directorial effort, the DreamWorks comedy Surviving Christmas, opens Nov. 24. He is also developing Sky High for the Walt Disney Co. and Super Santa for Nickelodeon and Paramount Pictures. Mitchell also directed the 1999 Walt Disney Co. comedy Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo.
