- After leaving the Dandridge Sisters, Etta Jones (not to be confused with the better known songstress who lived from 1928 to 2001), recorded with Jimmy Lunceford and appeared with Count Basie at the Cotton Club. After retiring from show business to raise a family, she worked for the Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation, teaching dance to young children.
