- Sylvain Itkine was born on December 8, 1908 in Paris, France. He was an actor and assistant director, known for The Grand Illusion (1937), The Story of the Fox (1937) and Un déjeuner de soleil (1937). He died on August 1, 1944 in Lyon, France.
- Engaged in anti-Nazi activities in France, and tortured for information by the Gestapo in Lyon where worked Klaus Barbie. He was shot and his body burnt.
