Melissa and Bruce have decided to go their separate ways– after four sons and 16 years of marriage!
Former Little House on the Prairie sweetheart Melissa Gilbert has split from her actor husband Bruce Boxleitner. “We have loved each other for a very long time and we share four incredible sons together,” Melissa says in a statement according to People. “On behalf of our family we ask to be allowed our privacy during this very difficult time.”
Melissa, 46, best known for playing Laura Ingalls on the beloved NBC show starring the late Michael Landon, met Bruce, 60, in 1992 — just weeks after divorcing Bo Brinkman. Bruce’s ex-wife, Kathryn Holcomb, actually set him up with with Melissa. The two initially didn’t hit it off because of their age difference. But on Jan. 1, 1995 the couple married.
