Robyn Hofmeyr was born in Pietermaritzburg, Natal, South Africa on the
25th of June 1957. Being born in the era of apartheid in South Africa,
Robyn and her associates began making films protesting the white
supremacy and demanding equality. She lived in a community with famous
South African activist Neil Aggett who was driven to suicide by the
apartheid government. She now currently lives in Queensland, Australia
with her husband and two sons, making documentaries in and around the
aboriginal community of Cherbourg.
