Marijan Hinteregger was born in September 17, 1961 in Maribor - Slovenia. Marijan has Croatian (mother Ivanka) and Austrian (father Maximilian) roots;
10 years old Marijan faced his acting talent for the first time in a theater group at the primary school in Maribor. At the age of 14 he played his first role in famous Slovenian film "The Widowhood of Karolina Zasler" (1974), director Matjaz Klopcic.
After his movie debut, on request of his parents he finishes school for chef.
After being rejected from The Actors Academy in Ljubljana, began Marijan Hinteregger in 1984 his actor training at Dramski Studio Maribor, under the private mentor ship of Slovenian legendary actor Vlado Novak (Stanislavsky system), theater director and filmmaker Joze Babic and Theater academy professor Ana Mlakar. So Marijan Hinteregger absorbed the foundations of acting craft. He signed on as an actor in Slovenian National Theater Maribor, Celje People s Theatre and in several small roles in Television, Radio and Cinema productions in Slovenia;
In 1991 Marijan Hinteregger left his homeland and start with new carrier in Germany-Saarbrücken, Austria-Klagenfurt, Vienna... (Bavaria Film München, Cristallerie Theater Wadgassen, Staatstheater Saarbrücken, Staadtheater Klangenfurt, Ikarus Dance Theatre Klagenfurt, Dor Film Vienna, Theater Phoenix Linz, Satel Film Vienna, Embassy Films Dubrovnik with participation's as an extra in some big Hollywood productions, Pakt Media Zagreb and Constantin Film München, Mr-Film Vienna and E&A film Production Vienna in popular Tv series "Die Lottosieger" (2009-2012), director Leo Bauer)... Marijan Hinteregger also gained experience as a radio announcer for several years. His entire career was filled, with rare exceptions, mainly with minor, supporting roles, on the stage in film and television.
Marijan Hinteregger, has in 1992-2012 performed hundreds of multilingual mono-dramatic performances in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Austria and Germany, (Svetlana Makarovic - Stonoga, Frane Milcinski - Butalci, Janko Messner - XY Ungelöst);
In achieving Marijan's career in Germany the key role was played in year 1992 by Swiss Theater General Director Kurt Josef Schildknecht in Saarbrücken National Theater. Between 1995-2002 Marijan Hinteregger collaborated with the local Slovenian community in Austria as theater director, writer and composer. In Carinthia has been for Marijan a significant collaboration with writer and poet Janko Messner. Marijan wrote and directed "Jeungleur Felix" (1996) his first short film, as well as the short film "Die Schülereinschreibung" (2000);
Marijan performed in the Austrian film production "Hinterholz 8" (1998), director Harald Sicheritz and that was the beginning of Marijan's modest but long standing involvement as filmmaker in Vienna-Austria. Below Croatian producer Ljubomir Sikic and his artistic supervision, Marijan wrote and directed his first independent feature film "Disappearing" (2004), which screened at various film festivals;
From 2003 to 2006 was Marijan Hinteregger on the Board of Directors of the International Dubrovnik Film Festival. Dubrovnik Festival founder was Australian-Croatian filmmaker Ziggy Mrkich...
