Editor’s note: New York City police tell People that the two computers taken in the reported burglary described below, for which actress Sean Young was “wanted for questioning,” were returned days later and no charges will be filed. Young’s rep did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
In a previous statement to People, Young said the situation was essentially a misunderstanding — an explanation the film’s producers dismissed.

Actress Sean Young is “wanted for questioning” in connection with a report of a Thursday burglary in New York City. Young allegedly broke into the office of a film on which she had been slated to make her directorial debut before being fired this summer after clashing with the producers.
According to one of the film's producers, she allegedly took two MacBook Pro laptops that had production software on them.
“This was a big slap in my face. I try to help as much people as I can,” says comedian Greg Kritikos, the co-writer, star and a producer of the upcoming dramedy Charlie Boy, which Young was initially hired to direct.
However, Young was terminated from the production about two months ago and Timothy Hines was brought in to replace her, according to executive producer Dominick Martini.
She played Meggie on The YOung and the Restless in 2010-2011.

Sean Young Claims She Didn't Mean to Take Laptops from Film That Fired Her — as Producers Say No Way
Following the news on Friday that she was being sought for questioning in a reported burglary in New York City earlier this week, actress and Blade Runner star Sean Young released a statement characterizing the situation as a misunderstanding and said she had yet to be contacted by authorities.
Others involved in the case, however, strenuously dispute this version of events.
The mounting war of words between Young and the crew of a film on which she had been hired — and then fired — this summer traces back to the loss of two laptops from that production’s office in Queens’ Astoria neighborhood.

It's true, I have a soft spot in my heart for War of the Worlds, everything about it. I fell in love with the original Orson Wells radio broadcast when my father introduced it to me as a kid. The 1953 movie, the book (of course), the horribly underrated TV series- I even enjoyed the 2005 Steven Spielberg effort (despite the many shortcomings).
The real aura and magic come from the original broadcast, though, the first inklings of the "mockumentary" and what would become cinema-verité. It's in that spirit that Timothy Hines set out to make his own take on the War of the Worlds story.
Here's where it gets confusing however.
Timothy Hines made a version of the story in 2005 for Pendragon Pictures, but he was never happy with the finished product. When speaking to SFCrowsnest.com Hines stated, “The 2005 film was both rushed and severely over-scaled with highly compressed post-production...
