- In the original Broadway production during Julie's tantrum scene, one of the kitchen items (a kitchen skillet) she'd been scattering on the floor bounced off the stage and into the audience. A little later, Julie broke character, went to the stage apron, and asked a man in the front row to please return it. This demonstration of stage presence from an 11-year-old brought down the house and was the topic of discussion among theater-goers for some time.
