Welcome to the monster mafia. After months of waiting, Supernatural is finally giving fans their first taste of the CW's planned spinoff Supernatural: Bloodlines, which focused on the various mafia-esque monster families that run the underbelly of Chicago. Yes, an entire city has been taken over by the things that go bump in the night right under Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean's (Jensen Ackles) noses all this time. But that all changes in tonight's episode of Supernatural, which serves as a backdoor pilot for Bloodlines, and introduces fans to Ennis (Lucien Laviscount), a newly-minted hunter out for revenge, and David Hayden (The Vampire Diaries fan favorite Nathaniel Buzolic), a shapeshifter from one of the ruling...

Now here’s some pilot news that I’m completely comfortable reporting, because we Know we’ll see at least the pilot, even if it isn’t picked up to series. We’ve reported periodically about what the TV industry refers to as “backdoor pilots”; they appear as an episode of an existing series, and if they do well, they’re picked up as a spinoff series. Most recently we’ve seen that with The Originals, which was introduced as an episode of The Vampire Diaries.
The CW, who shows more of Our Kind of Shows than any other network, is becoming rather expert at the spinoff/backdoor pilot game, as they are planning another to air next month. Entitled Supernatural: Bloodlines (until recently it was going to be Supernatural: Tribes), it will air as the April 29th episode of Supernatural.

I’m starting to come around to the idea of Supernatural: Tribes. The years have not been good to Supernatural and I’ve definitely lost my taste for its particular brand of drama. But that doesn’t mean I’m sick of the world (really, I’m just done with Sam and Dean). Tribes offers a new view of the world of monsters we’ve been watching for the last nine years, one that will hopefully revive the series (and what will be a franchise should Tribes be picked up). And now the spinoff has had yet another actor join its strange mix of mafia life and monsters, making me more and more excited to see what this show will look like.

Whew! A flurry of casting news has come out over the past few days for The CW's potential spinoff series "Supernatural: Tribes," and we have all the details here on who'll be playing a werewolf, a shapeshifter, and a mentor with a dirty little secret.
As previously announced, Nathaniel Buzolic plays David Hayden, a shapeshifter from one of Chicago’s ruling monster families, while Lucien Laviscount portrays Ennis Roth, a human police academy trainee who learns the truth about what lurks in the shadows and becomes a monster hunter himself.
Now, as for the newbies, TVLine reports that Sean Faris (pictured above), currently recurring as Officer Gabriel Holbrook on "Pretty Little Liars" (he also appeared on "The Vampire Diaries" as Ben McKittrick), will play Julian Durant, the son of a wealthy family of lycanthropes who has no love for the Hayden clan.
Filling out said Hayden clan will be Danielle Savre (pictured below left; "Heroes,...

Supernatural’s planned spinoff is starting to come together in a tangible way now that the cast is being filled. The spinoff, called Supernatural: Tribes, is going to take the series in a new direction, in a way making it a little more like The Vampire Diaries, but it will ultimately still be about hunters killing monsters. The only difference is its urban setting and the mafia-esque ruling families. Lucien Laviscount and Nathaniel Buzolic were cast in two of the most important roles in the potential series – the whole idea wouldn’t work without these two characters and these actors feel like a good fit.
The sweeping drama about monster families running the underbelly of Chicago certainly has a fun concept backing it, but the big focus needs to be on the hunter who will be trying to stop them and thus rid Chicago of everything supernatural. For that, THR...

Welcome to the "Supernatural" family, Sean Faris.
The "Pretty Little Liars" actor has just joined the "Supernatural" spinoff pilot, TVLine reports.
"Supernatural: Tribes" is about the various monster families that rule the dark monster world of Chicago. The families are being tracked by a new hunter who's trying to stop them and rid Chicago of all things supernatural, spurred by a personal tragedy that propelled him to learn the truth about monsters and hunting.
Faris will take on the lead werewolf role, Julian Durant. He is the son of a wealthy family of lycanthropes, and majorly hates the Hayden family of shapeshifters.
Faris joins the recently cast Nathaniel Buzolic and Lucien Laviscount, who will take on the roles of shapeshifter David Hayden and new hunter Ennis Roth, respectively. All three will appear in "Supernatural's" 20th episode this season which will serve as the spinoff's backdoor pilot, airing Tuesday, April...

Supernatural is one of The CW’s longest running series to date, recently having been renewed for a tenth season, and it has finally earned itself a spinoff with the upcoming Supernatural: Tribes.
The spinoff isn’t a new concept for the network, which capitalized on the success of one of its other anchor dramas, The Vampire Diaries, with spinoff series The Originals last fall. And although Nathaniel Buzolic, who once played an Original himself on The Vampire Diaries, didn’t make it to New Orleans with his fictional siblings, he has been cast as one of the leads in Supernatural: Tribes.
Along with Buzolic, Lucien Laviscount (Episodes, Skins) has also been cast as a lead in the project. You may not be familiar with his face just yet, but The CW certainly is. Laviscount was cast in a pilot for sci-fi series The Selection, which failed to make it...

The forthcoming Supernatural spin-off, Tribes, has cast a Us and UK male lead in Nathaniel Buzolic and Lucien Laviscount...
Supernatural isn't only approaching its whopping tenth season, but also following in the footsteps of The Vampire Diaries by spawning a spin-off series. When the news arrived that a "citified" new show would be extending the Supernatural universe in July, very little was known about the premise. Now, we've been told that Supernatural: Tribes, as it's been titled, will follow the mafia-esque monster families who run Chicago's criminal underworld and are being tracked by a new Hunter determined to clean up the city.
Casting-wise, The CW is up to its old cross-pollination tricks by putting The Vampire Diaries' and The Originals' Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) front and centre in the new show, with relative newcomer, UK actor Lucien Laviscount as his co-lead (see below,...

Australian actor Nathaniel Buzolic ("The Vampire Diaries," "Out of the Blue") and British actor Lucien Laviscount ("Episodes," "Coronation Street") have scored the lead roles in the upcoming spin-off series "Supernatural: Tribes" for The CW.
Set entirely in Chicago, the new series follows various powerful monster families waging a war to control the city, a fight that human residents are generally unaware of.
Buzolic plays David Hayden, a repentant shapeshifter and member of one of the ruling families who has been living as a human for some time.
Laviscount will play Ennis Roth, a police academy cadet whose fiancée was killed in the crossfire during a violent encounter between two of the feuding families. Ennis has now dedicated his life to ridding the city of their influence.

The "Supernatural" and "The Vampire Diaries" fandoms just collided in one epic casting.
The "Supernatural" spinoff pilot "Supernatural: Tribes" has just cast the two main leads, and one of them is none other than "Tvd" fan-favorite Original vampire Kol, a.k.a. Nathaniel Buzolic, TVLine reports.
Hey, if the fans can't have recently deceased Kol then they'll gladly take Buzolic as another supernatural creature. Buzolic joins the potential new series as a series regular, playing David Hayden, a shapeshifter from one of the mafia-esque ruling monster families of Chicago who's been living as a human, having given up the monster life years ago.

The CW has revealed the first two cast members of its "Supernatural" spinoff, "Supernatural: Tribes," and one of them will be a very familiar face for those of you who also watch the network's previous spinoff, "The Originals."
Per Deadline, Australian actor Nathaniel Buzolic (pictured right) and UK-born Lucien Laviscount have landed the leads in "Supernatural: Tribes," which will air as an episode of "Supernatural" on April 29th.
Buzolic portrayed Kol in "The Originals" and its parent show, "The Vampire Diaries," while Laviscount (pictured below) honed his craft in such UK series as "Coronation Street" and "Waterloo Road" as well as appearing in "Episodes" on Showtime.
Written by Andrew Dabb and directed by Robert Singer, "Supernatural: Tribes" centers around the various Mafia-esque monster families that, unknowingly to humans, “run” the underbelly of Chicago and are being tracked by a newly-minted hunter who’s trying to stop them and rid Chicago of anything or anyone supernatural.

The CW’s Supernatural spinoff has found two of its leads: Aussie actor Nathaniel Buzolic (who played Klaus’ brother Kol on The Vampire Diaries last season) and British actor Lucien Laviscount (Skins, Coronation Street) have been cast in key roles in the Chicago-based Tribes.
Laviscount will play series regular Ennis Roth, a police academy trainee whose fiancée is killed in the crossfire of the monster war. Roth “learns the truth about what lurks in the shadows and becomes a monster-hunter himself.”

Today we’ve got a line on the stars of Supernatural’s Chicago-based spinoff that will first be appearing in the planted pilot. Tribes will have a whole new feel compared to its parent series. First off, the consistent setting of the Windy City will ground the spinoff in a way Supernatural has never been before. Plus, there will be more than two main characters. No longer will we have to spend time with the same two blokes going over the same problems again and again. Oh and there’s going to be a Romeo and Juliet style forbidden romance, so that’s going to be teentastic.
First up, we’ve got leading man Ennis Roth. TVLine reported that he’s likeable, strong-willed, resolute, with a strong sense of justice. The son of a cop and raised in poverty, Ennis also has his eyes set on the police academy before...

"Supernatural: Tribes" just keeps sounding better and better.
New details have emerged about the highly anticipated "Supernatural" spinoff, and it's different enough to set the series apart from its long-running parent, while keeping the same tone and feeling as the Winchester saga. In other words, it has the right balance for a spinoff series (see: "The Originals" vs. "The Vampire Diaries").
TVLine reports that the new series -- which will have a planted pilot as episode 20 of "Supernatural" Season 9 -- will center on an "epic battle involving five rival monster families and a vengeance-seeking hunter" in Chicago. And bonus: There will also be a forbidden love amid the warring families.
All the characters of the new show will be introduced in the "Supernatural" episode. Meet the cast of "Supernatural: Tribes" below:

One of the more delightful parts of social media has been watching famous people fight, or flirt, in public view. From the recent “four way” “fight” between Octavia Spencer, Retta, and Yvette Nicole Brown over Joe Manganiello, to the “dancing pig” spat of 2011 between Kirstie Alley and George Lopez, seeing bold-faced names go at it in real time over cyberspace has proven to be a fizzy new spectator sport for the 21st century.
But what if you could hear the fight as well as read it?
That’s the promise of Just Sayin’, a new, free, voice-based social media app that officially launches today.
