A new mockumentary series set in the world of “The Office” is not only being developed — but was just picked up by Peacock. “The Office” creator Greg Daniels and “Nathan for You” co-creator Michael Koman’s untitled project has been ordered to series, produced by Utv.
The untitled Daniels/Koman project will star Irish film star Domhnall Gleeson and “The White Lotus” Season 2 breakout Sabrina Impacciatore, as well as an ensemble cast that has yet to be announced. According to a press release from Peacock, the documentary crew behind “The Office” (who stepped out from behind the camera in controversial later seasons) is back to work looking for a new subject, “when they discover a dying historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it with volunteer reporters.” Like Dunder Mifflin’s struggle with selling paper in the digital age, the series’ synopsis suggests that it will tackle the...

It’s been over two decades since Reese Witherspoon wowed us with her blonde beauty and brains in the first installment of the “Legally Blonde” franchise.
Due to the widely positive reception of the first movie, the sequel “Legally Blonde: Red, White and Blonde” followed in 2003.
This was later followed by the 2009 direct-to-video spinoff “Legally Blondes,” which served as sort of a pilot for a potential series, but this did not take.
“Legally Blonde 3” has been in the works for several years with Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor working on the script, but nothing has come of it until now.

Bring your pink suit to the dry cleaners because Legally Blonde is making a comeback, and you’ll want to dress to impress! According to Deadline, Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine company will partner with Amazon MGM Studios for a Legally Blonde spinoff TV series. The long-anticipated project comes from Gossip Girl writers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, who will also produce through their Fake Empire studio. Plot details remain a mystery, though Witherspoon’s involvement with the project gives me good vibes.
Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter will produce the Legally Blonde spinoff TV series via Hello Sunshine alongside Legally Blonde film producer Marc Platt. Deadline says there’s a chance we could get more than one spinoff series inspired by Legally Blonde, but details are fuzzier than the eraser toppers Elle Woods keeps in her purse.
Released in 2001, Legally Blonde stars Reese Witherspoon as Elle Woods, a fashionable sorority queen whom her boyfriend dumps.

Only so many movie franchises have been successfully spun off into equally successful TV shows, but Amazon MGM is looking at that challenge and saying, “What, like it’s hard?”
The studio is in development on a “Legally Blonde” spinoff TV series inspired by the perfectly pink comedy starring Reese Witherspoon, who is also producing the series through her company Hello Sunshine, an individual with knowledge of the project told IndieWire.
No plot details were unveiled, but the show is envisioned as an expansion of the “Legally Blonde” universe and characters, with Deadline reporting there may be more to come.
Amazon did not immediately respond to a request for comment on an update about whether a “Legally Blonde 3″ film is still in the works, which upon its last update was being written by Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor. That project has been in development for years, with Witherspoon even comparing...

File this one under: Shows You Should Be Watching. For the past two years, Peacock has been home to Killing It, one of the top sleeper comedies of the Streaming Overload Era (So many shows! So many outlets!). And it’s time you got hip to it. Created by Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici, who previously cracked us up with Brooklyn Nine-Nine, this offbeat little gem is weird, smart and funny Af. It also has a heart as big as star Craig Robinson‘s smile when he talks about it with us in this recent chat. Peacock Robinson stars as Craig Foster, an aspiring entrepreneur who, in the first season, entered a python-hunting competition to cull the invasive snakes from the Florida Everglades (it’s a real thing!). Hoping to score the seed money for his ultimate dream of getting into the saw-palmetto supplement industry, Craig wound up partnering...

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" is, hands down, one of the funniest sitcoms in recent TV history. The Andy Samberg-led detective comedy lost a bit of its considerable charm with a final season that attempted (perhaps ultimately unsuccessfully) to grapple with timely discussions about policing, but for the vast majority of the show's eight-season run, it was an energetic and uproarious fan favorite. As Mike Schur's follow-up to "Parks and Recreation" (Schur co-created "Nine-Nine" with Dan Goor), "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" continued the writers' knack for creating quick-witted and endearing workplace sitcoms that are perfect binge-watch material.
Along with Samberg's goofy detective Jake Peralta, an all-star cast rounds out New York's 99th precinct. Stephanie Beatriz's menacing Rosa, Melissa Fumero's perfectionist Amy, Joe Lo Truglio's awkward but loyal Boyle, and Terry Crews' family man Terry are among the show's featured players, but no one on the cast list brought quite as...

It is a cruel, unfair twist of fate that we lost the amazing and talented Andre Braugher this week at the age of 61. Though Braugher appeared in notable film roles over the course of a handful of decades, like his debut role of Corporal Thomas Searles in Edward Zwick's "Glory," Brent Norton in Frank Darabont's adaptation of "The Mist," and real-life journalist and editor Dean Baquet in the recent "She Said," he was best known on the small screen for primarily playing men of authority, like his Emmy-winning turn as Detective Frank Pembleton of the Baltimore Pd on "Homicide: Life on the Street." For many viewers, Braugher is best known for playing another commanding cop, Captain Raymond Holt of the NYPD in the brilliantly silly eight-season sitcom "Brooklyn Nine-Nine." Both when it aired initially, and through binge-rewatches, it's clear that Braugher successfully balanced the serious and the loopy in his performance as Holt,...

Just a couple days before Andre Braugher’s untimely passing at the age of 61, I was thinking about the actor’s performance on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”
Mike Schur and Dan Goor’s eight-season comedy (which premiered on Fox and then moved to NBC) was full of dazzling performances and hysterical one-liners, but out of nowhere I found myself thinking about Braugher’s mic-drop from Season 1’s Thanksgiving episode: “My wife was killed by a man in a yellow sweater.” Aside from being exactly the kind of jarringly memorable line that one might recall at random with no context, it’s a critical moment that shows his character, the seemingly by-the-book and buttoned up Raymond Holt, is not opposed to some light shenanigans when the situation calls for it — and crash course in Braugher’s masterclass of impeccable timing.

Andre Braugher, who starred in the laugh-out-loud television series Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Homicide: Life on the Street, passed away on Monday. He was 61.

It was a criminally good day for comedy on September 17, 2013, when Brooklyn Nine-Nine hit our TV screens. Created by Dan Goor and Michael Schur, the Golden Globe-winning series followed the cops and employees at a fictional NYPD precinct. With their roles on the show, Andy Samberg and Terry Crews added another title to their comedy resumés, Andre Braugher showed off his funny side after years on TV dramas, and Stephanie Beatriz, Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio, and Chelsea Peretti gave breakout performances. Warning: This notebook contains spoilers for the second season of Peacock’s Killing It.
The driving idea behind Peacock’s Killing It might be most tidily encapsulated in an argument between its two leads in the season two finale. Having screwed an associate out of his share of their saw palmetto berry farm, Craig (Craig Robinson) defends the tactic as “very basic dog-eat-dog stuff.” His best friend and co-owner, however, rejects the cliché. “But like, dogs shouldn’t eat dogs, right?” Jillian (Claudia O’Doherty) demands. “No. When a dog eats another dog, people freak out.”
By Killing It’s estimation, they’re both right. Dan Goor and Luke Tredici are scathing in their criticism of the modern American rat race, which, to Craig’s point, does tend to reward those most willing to manipulate, cheat and harm others. But its heart ultimately lies with Jillian. This situation is worth freaking out about.

Though less obvious about it than some other streaming services, Peacock has been churning out some of the best TV of the year. On the heels of Emmy-nominated series “Poker Face” and “Mrs. Davis” comes the return of Craig Robinson’s comedy “Killing It.” The show stars Robinson and Claudia O’Doherty as Craig and Jillian, two underdogs who team up to kill snakes to win prize money, a real thing that happens in Florida as a means of protecting the ecosystem from invasive pythons.
In Season 2, which is now streaming, the pair’s talent for killing snakes leads to the realization of Craig’s dream: owning a saw palmetto farm, which he hopes will give him the means to become a mogul. The comedy, which hails from “Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s” Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici, is as endearing as it is biting as it takes on issues of class...

In these dark times in which we live, the line between satire and horror can be so razor-thin as to barely exist at all. Peacock’s Craig Robinson comedy Killing It is ostensibly a comedy about how badly the American economic system is stacked against anyone who isn’t already well-off. But its humor is so cutting, and so often feels not that far removed from reality, that I often spend more time covering my face during episodes than laughing.

To promote the Aug. 17 return of Peacock’s Killing It, NBCUniversal is turning to other alternatives as star Craig Robinson remains barred from doing so amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.

NBC has made decisions on two of its three bubble comedies and one of its four pilots.
The network has opted to cancel sophomore series Grand Crew and third-year show Young Rock, leaving fellow comedy American Auto on the bubble. As part of NBC’s comedy moves Friday, the network has handed out a series order to the mockumentary series St. Denis Medical. There is no word yet on the fates of NBC’s three remaining pilots, comedy Non-Evil Twin with Amber Ruffin and dramas Murder by the Book and Wolf.
St. Denis Medical, in the vein of ABC’s breakout Emmy darling Abbott Elementary, is described as a mockumentary about an underfunded, understaffed Oregon hospital where the dedicated doctors and nurses try their best to treat patients while maintaining their own sanity. Wendi McClendon-Covey stars in the Universal TV series, marking her first role after she wrapped a 10-season...

The gang is back for a second season of “Grand Crew” on March 3, and cast members Nicole Byer, Echo Kellum, Justin Cunningham, Aaron Jennings, Carl Tart and Grasie Mercedes break down what we can expect in this exclusive trailer for the NBC series.
Says Tart, “We heard your messages. We read the tweets. This season we are drinking real wine, so now we are drunk as skunks.”
In a scene from Season 2, which you can watch above, Wyatt (Cunningham) toasts the crew with a glass of water, even though everyone tells him it’s bad luck. Sure enough, he chokes on the water, his stool falls over and his pants split. When he sighs and says, “Someone get me a damn glass of wine,” every one of his friends offers their own glass.

Who would you most want to travel with out of the cast of "The White Lotus?" Back when season 2 was airing, that question was posed to various actors from the hit HBO show during the behind-the-scenes previews for the next week's episode. The answer was always, without hesitation, Jennifer Coolidge. After winning a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Limited Series/Anthology or Motion Picture for her role as Tanya in "White Lotus" season 2, her moving and hilarious speech made Coolidge even more endearing. Season 3 of "White Lotus" was officially announced in November of 2022, but sadly, Coolidge won't be returning. That leaves the door open for the in-demand actor to pursue other opportunities as she enjoys her ongoing surge in popularity.

NBC has delayed the premiere of criminal drama “Found” from a midseason launch on Feb. 19 to a fall 2023 premiere.
“Found,” which stars Shanola Hampton as public relations specialist Gabi Mosely, shines a light on the 600,000 people reported missing in the U.S. — more than half of which are people of color. As Gabi was once a forgotten missing person, her crisis management team works to ensure that no person becomes a faceless case. As Gabi relentlessly works to safeguard others’ wellbeing, a chilling secret of her own comes back to haunt her.
In addition to the shift, NBC has ordered additional scripts to showcase its commitment to the series.
“After watching the first few episodes of ‘Found,’ it quickly became clear that our love for this show has continued to grow and grow with each step of the process,” said Susan Rovner, chairman of Entertainment Content for NBCUniversal Television and Streaming.

While it may have been difficult to watch "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" get the axe from NBC, a comedy about a group of good people within the NYPD actually trying to do good for their community during a very real influx of injustice made their genuine efforts look all too much like a fantasy. Although the series has left us, when "B99" wanted to be funny, it had some of the most hilarious writing on television, and the stacked ensemble cast always came to play.
As with any great sitcom, however, some of the series most memorable moments involve the addition of a surprise guest star to the mix. "B99" has featured such a diverse roster as Lou Diamond Phillips, Patton Oswalt, Jenny Slate, and Sterling K. Brown, but it was in their first season where series creators/writers Dan Goor and Michael Schur brought out one of their funniest guest spots in Adam Sandler.

When "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" writer Vanessa Ramos' brand new Netflix series hit the streamer earlier this month, the world thought it was odd that "Blockbuster," a story based on the world's last video store that Netflix popularly put out of business, would find a place on it. Viewers are undoubtedly familiar with the irony of Netflix making a show about their former competitor available to the rest of the world. Ramos knows it too.

As fondly remembered as "Scrubs" is today, it was never a huge hit at the time it was airing. The ratings were certainly strong enough in the beginning, but by season 6 the viewership numbers were nearly a third of what they were at the show's height in season 2. NBC was done with the show for good in the shortened season 7, but luckily ABC came along and picked it up for an eighth season.
For the most part, "Scrubs" transitioned gracefully onto the new network. Most casual viewers bingeing the show today wouldn't even notice a difference between NBC "Scrubs" and ABC "Scrubs," but there were a few key changes. Mainly, they had to dial back the Todd (Robert Maschio).
"You know," Zach Braff said in a 2018 cast reunion interview, "when we moved from NBC to ABC, 'cause it's Disney, we were no longer allowed to show Rob in his banana hammock.

When you work on a show for eight long years — especially one with a tight-knit cast — you're bound to make a few special memories. Such was the case for Melissa Fumero, who played sergeant Amy Santiago on "Brooklyn Nine-Nine." Despite being straight-laced, Amy had some of the most exciting scenes in the show, scheming all year so that she could win the Halloween heists and famously interrupted her wedding dress fitting to chase a perp down an alley.
But as ridiculous as some of the episodes may have been, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" had a big impact on Fumero. In an emotional interview that was filmed as the show wrapped up, the actress admitted that "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" had "changed [her] life" and that she was incredibly grateful for how "warm and nice and chill" everyone always was behind the scenes. Fumero also shared her favorite scene to film — and it's fitting that it wasn't all that flashy.

When Andy Samberg wrapped up his run on "Saturday Night Live," he figured he was off to go be a comedy movie star like many of his predecessors. He was one of the standouts on his era of "SNL," known for his hilarious rap parodies with his three-man group "The Lonely Island." His fans were excited to see him make the jump to the silver screen, although the transition from television star to film star is not always smooth.
Samberg already had some experience starring in feature films, but they hadn't been extremely successful. His first film, 2007's "Hot Rod," was largely panned at the time, although it has managed to garner a bit of a cult following in recent years for its humor and surprisingly dangerous stunts.
Upon jumping fully into films after his "SNL" exit in 2012, Samberg was once again performing a bit inconsistently. "Celeste and Jesse Forever" was generally well-received,...

On May 18, 2020, it was confirmed that Kaling had signed on to write the screenplay alongside Dan Goor. Witherspoon will be reprising her role as attorney Elle Woods, and the film will be produced through her Hello Sunshine studio and the franchise's original producer, Marc Platt.

Reese Witherspoon says that she’s looking to the massive success of “Top Gun: Maverick” on how to make sure “Legally Blonde 3” turns out right.
In a new interview with USA Today, Witherspoon said she’s “still hoping that ‘Legally Blonde 3’ is gonna come together in the right way.” And it turns out that the film remains in development, even after it was announced back in 2020 that the sequel would be released in May of this year.
“It’s just like ‘Top Gun': They waited a long time to make another version of that movie, and I loved the nostalgia piece they incorporated in it,” Witherspoon said. “So definitely that gave us a lot of inspiration about what we would want to do with Elle Woods and make sure that we had all those same touchstones that mattered to people then.”

“Legally Blonde” fans have been waiting in limbo for announcements on the long-in-the-works third movie, but a recent Reese Witherspoon interview implies the sequel isn’t a sure thing just yet. The Oscar winner recently told USA Today that she is still hoping the movie comes together in “the right way,” which may surprise fans given that “Legally Blonde 3” once had a 2022 release date. Development is seemingly taking longer than Witherspoon expected.
“I’m still hoping that ‘Legally Blonde 3’ is gonna come together in the right way,” Witherspoon said. “It’s just like ‘Top Gun.’ They waited a long time to make another version of that movie, and I loved the nostalgia piece they incorporated in it. Waiting decades to make a sequel to a beloved movie is often a recipe for disaster, but “Top Gun: Maverick” proved that it doesn’t have to be. The blockbuster earned rave reviews from critics and brought in the biggest box office haul of Tom Cruise’s career, proving there’s a real appetite for legacy sequels done well. Some of Hollywood’s biggest names have been studying the film’s success with the hope of finding a way to work the same magic into their own projects. Much easier said than done, but Reese Witherspoon is prepared to try.
In a new interview with USA Today, Witherspoon gave an update on “Legally Blonde 3” and expressed her hope that the long awaited sequel can find the same balance of nostalgia and fresh faces that made “Maverick” soar so high.
