Clear the runway! It’s time to revisit Zoolander… Directed and co-written by Ben Stiller, the film focuses on Derek Zoolander, a slow-witted supermodel, who becomes embroiled in an international conspiracy to assassinate the Prime Minister of Malaysia by the top people in the fashion industry, namely Jacobim Mugatu and Derek’s agent Maury Ballstein, before he can pass progressive labor laws in his country that would harm their businesses. Zoolander is recruited as a pawn and brainwashed into killing him during a fashion show. If that wasn’t enough, Derek faces an identity crisis due to his declining popularity, his family’s embarrassment of his occupation, and his search for a higher calling in life besides being ridiculously good looking. The cast and crew of 30 Rock have lifted the lid on the NBC comedy’s reunion special.
30 Rock: A One Time-Special, which airs tonight on NBC as well as a number of NBCUniversal’s other networks, was shot under quarantine guidelines, both outside observing health and safety protocols and in the actors’ homes.
Creator and star Tina Fey, Robert Carlock and director Oz Rodriguez spoke about the reunion as part of NBC’s “Creativity Summit,” which happened in place of the company’s traditional upfronts. They were joined by stars of the show.
“When NBC asked if we could write a reunion episode, to pinch hit for the upfronts this year so they could happen, it made sense to us because the world of 30 Rock always blended commerce and comedy,” Fey said “I would say we have a level of understanding of marketing and advertising that matches the...

Comedian Atsuko Okatsuka is bringing her twerk-friendly funny to Quibi with the woke Japanese game show appropriately titled Let’s Go Atsuko! from National Lampoon and PalmStar Media.
In the new series, Game master Okatsuka will lead two civilian contestants through the surreal universe inside her grandma’s fridge. In every episode, each contestant — perhaps unwisely — will tell Okatsuka one thing they love and one thing they fear. These facts can and will be used against them to create tailor-made challenges that test the players’ “street smarts.”
The forthcoming series for the short-form streaming platform shares the name of her weekly podcast on the Forever Dog network and monthly live show at Dynasty Typewriter in Los Angeles. Thinking they’re about to crash, Emma spills her secrets to a stranger on a plane. At least, she thought he was a stranger…Until she later meets Jack, her company’s young CEO, who now knows every humiliating detail about her.
Based on the 2003 New York Times bestseller by Sophie Kinsella, Can You Keep a Secret? is essentially a by-the-numbers rom-com about mixed messages, crossed-wires and overly complicated relationships. It’s also obvious from the get-go where this film will end up. Yet none of that stops Can You Keep a Secret? being a hugely entertaining romp. Mainly due to the chemistry of leads Alexandra Daddario and Tyler Hoechlin.

"You elect a deranged con-man, just to see what happens...!" Freestyle Releasing has debuted another new official Us trailer for the indie satire Hot Air, which hasn't played at any film festivals or elsewhere yet. Hot Air is a timely drama (or satire?) relevant to today's world about a popular right-wing radio host named Lionel Macomb, as played by Steve Coogan. His life takes a sudden turn when his 16 year old niece Tess, played by Taylor Russell, comes crashing into his life. She confronts him and challenges him and makes him question his own position and his own legacy. The cast includes Neve Campbell, Pico Alexander, Skylar Astin, Judith Light, Lawrence Gilliard Jr., Griffin Newman, and Judah Friedlander. We posted the first UK trailer for this last month, and they've cut a new Us trailer that's definitely trying to rile everyone up. And it's very obviously calling out some bullshit.

Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of film critics two questions and publishes the results on Monday.
This week’s question: In honor of “First Man,” which is now playing in theaters, what is the greatest biopic of all time?
Matt Zoller Seitz (@mattzollerseitz), RogerEbert.com
The best biographical movie I’ve ever seen was “32 Short Films About Glenn Gould,” because it gets the furthest away from traditional biographical movie structures and has a constant sense of surprise.
Sarah Marrs (@Cinesnark), LaineyGossip.com, Freelance
I’m giving this one to “Amadeus”. It’s not 100% accurate — no biopic is — but where “Amadeus” fudges details it does so in service of its theme. This movie has more to say about competition and rivalry than most sports movies, and it’s one of the only Great Man biopics to observe its subject from the outside. By centering on Salieri, a master in his own right,...

It looks like there will be a little “Westworld” and “Westeros” on the west coast this week after all: In partnership with HBO and Instagram, Entertainment Weekly will feature “Game of Thrones” and “Westworld” activations inside the magazine’s annual San Diego Comic-Con party, The Party Report has learned exclusively.
Much like Vanity Fair during Oscar week in Hollywood, Entertainment Weekly continues to swallow up Comic-Con week in San Diego, and so it goes this year. Editor-In-Chief Henry Goldblatt and team are printing an on-the-ground special issue of the magazine, relocating their Sirius Xm studios to San Diego, and once again bringing their “Women Who Kick Ass” panel to Hall H during Sdcc 2018.
For the industry though, EW’s annual Saturday night bash is the closest equivalent to Vanity Fair’s mythologized Oscar night gathering.

Hulu will become the exclusive subscription VOD home to “30 Rock,” starring Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin, under a new agreement with NBCUniversal Television and New Media Distribution that also covers four other series.
Starting Oct. 1, all episodes of the seven seasons of “30 Rock” will be streaming on Hulu. The full run of “30 Rock” had previously been available on Netflix.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt may share a connection to Orange Is the New Black, but aside from a few sly references to 30 Rock jokes like the drink "Old Spanish" and a drug store worker named "Ladonica" and Mikey the cat-calling construction worker, the two Tina Fey shows have been kept in separate universes. However, that wasn't always the case. Yes, there are shared actors, like Jane Krakowski, who played Jenna on 30 Rock, is Jacqueline on Kimmy Schmidt. Fey, Judah Friedlander and Scott Adist, series regulars on 30 Rock, also appear in season three of Kimmy Schmidt, but there was almost one scene in the new season that would've tied the two shows together in a big way that was scrapped at the last...

Like many of us out there Judah Friedlander is a little scared of artificial intelligence. He’s afraid of a Terminator 2 or any other “rise of the machines” type of movie becoming our reality. But Judah’s not the kind of guy who’s going to sit down and write an op-ed about it. He’s also not going to do months of research and write an academic paper. He’s going to watch all of this stuff first hand. At least that’s what his funny new 8 series show is going to do. According to Av Club Normally, the best way to get

When you weren't looking, Verizon resurrected 30 Rock. Sort of. Yes, there is some new content in the form of two commercials featuring everybody's favorite borderline (or is she 100 percent?) sociopath sketch comedy star Jenna Maroney (Jane Krakowski) and the ever-loyal Kenneth Parcel (Jack McBrayer), the page for the fictional Tgs With Tracy Jordan. The two, along with Judah Friedlander as Frank, appear in two new spots promoting Verizon and its streaming network. You’ve still got “Fuller House,” John Stamos. Rob Lowe, well, update your resume. On Thursday, Fox canceled freshman sitcoms “Grandfathered” and “The Grinder,” as well as animated series “Bordertown.” The network also officially confirmed that “Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life” would not be returning, which should be a shock to absolutely nobody. Stamos and Josh Peck starred in the lone run of “Grandfathered,” while Lowe and Fred Savage anchored legal comedy “The Grinder.” The very-low-rated “Bordertown” featured the voices of Hank Azaria, Judah Friedlander and Alex Borstein. Young-skewing comedy “Cooper Barrett” had already been shelved toward the end of its initial order.

Chicago – Voiceover artist Alex Borstein is familiar to TV audiences as the legendary Lois Griffin of “Family Guy,” but she also is a stellar character actress, recently in a role on the HBO series “Getting On.” She is back in the animation saddle with a couple of voiceover parts in the new Fox Network show ‘Bordertown.’
“Bordertown” is created by Mark Hentemann and is produced by Seth MacFarlane, the creator of “Family Guy.” It involves the Buckwald and Gonzalez families in a Southwest desert town on the Mexico-u.S. border, and Alex Borstein voices both the Buckwald mother Janice and her hapless daughter Becky. The show is sharp and funny, with the satire that is familiar to Seth MacFarlane animation fans. “Bordertown” premiered on the Fox Network on January 3rd, 2016, and is now on Sunday nights.

The United States-Mexico border and illegal immigration are very hot topics these days and they're the subject of Fox's newest animated comedy, Bordertown. Will the subject attract viewers or repel them? Will Bordertown be a hit in the ratings or a flop? Cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
A satirical adult comedy, Bordertown is set in a fictional border town between the Us and Mexico -- Mexifornia. It features the culture, politics, and lives of the neighboring Buckwald and Gonzalez families. The voice cast includes Hank Azaria, Alex Borstein, Judah Friedlander, Nicholas Gonzalez, and Missi Pyle.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available -- usually the next day,...

Two episodes were provided prior to broadcast.
When Bordertown was first ordered over two years ago, with Family Guy veterans Mark Hentemann and Seth MacFarlane holding the reins, the idea of a cartoon dedicated to satirizing immigration issues along the U.S.-Mexico border seemed far from promising. After all, Family Guy has garnered a fair share of (deserved) criticism for its offensive stereotyping of minorities, and there was no reason to expect that the duo’s next small-screen effort would veer away from comparable racism and xenophobia.
So, it’s a relief to report that Bordertown, despite sometimes stooping to pick low-hanging fruit, is actually surprisingly smart and funny, an equal-opportunity offender that energetically rips into every side of the immigration debate while demonstrating enough of an absurdist streak to balance out its snark.

Following the horrific murders of Wdbj-tv employees Alison Parker and Adam Ward in Virginia, Facebook and Twitter users (political pundits and comics alike) have spoken up about a continued need for greater gun control legislation as well as a more comprehensive dialogue regarding the U.S.'s gun violence crisis. After years of chatter about a prequel to David Wain’s 2001 cult comedy Wet Hot American Summer, Netflix finally stepped up to the plate and green-lit a miniseries reteaming the co-writer/director with a stacked cast of comedy all-stars. Now, the first full trailer for the series, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, has arrived, and it’s an absolute riot.
