Exclusive: Danny Cannon has been tapped to direct and executive produce the pilot for Fox’s high-profile comic book drama Gotham, from Warner Bros. TV and The Mentalist creator Bruno Heller. The project, which landed at Fox in September after a bidding war, mines DC Comics’ popular Batman character universe and explores the origin stories of Commissioner James Gordon and the villains who made Gotham City famous. Green Lantern was first created in 1940 by Bill Finger and Martin Nodell and even though the concept was radically changed in the late 50s, the comic has grown increasingly popular in the decades that followed, arguably hitting its peak within the past few years, thanks to Geoff Johns and his own expansion of the mythology/universe.
Johns’ first course of action was to bring back the Silver Age Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, the standard for all Corps members to follow. Post-rebirth, Johns kicked off what may be one of the biggest and deepest expansions of any comic book in history – from the introduction of new Lantern Corps’ (each relating to a color of the spectrum and assigning an emotion to each) to the hugely successful “Blackest Night,” “Green Lantern” (and its family of Lantern books) have either introduced or claimed characters from DC’s storied history and made them their own.

While it may feel like the trailers and photos from "The Dark Knight Rises" have shown us a lot from Christopher Nolan's third and supposed final trip to Gotham City, we have yet to see that much from Catwoman.
After spy photos from the set forced their hand, Warner Bros. released an early look at Anne Hathaway's take on Gotham's most notorious cat burglar astride the Batpod, but aside from that photo and her brief but enticing appearance in the theatrical trailer, Selina Kyle's role in "Rises" remains a mystery.
Hathaway did, however, open up to the L.A. Times' Hero Complex during a visit to the London set of "The Dark Knight Rises." She spoke...

In the latest of our comprehensive series of reviews of DC Comics' 52 relaunched titles, we take a look at Green Lantern #1 Who's it by?
Green Lantern #1 is written by Geoff Johns and illustrated by Doug Mahnke and Christian Alamy. What's the history?
Green Lantern is pretty darn iconic. Writer Bill Finger and artist Martin Nodell introduced the original incarnation of the superhero in 1941's All-American Comics #16. Alan Scott was the first character to wield the power ring, an awesome weapon handed down by the galactic police force known as the Guardians. Scott's influence faded as the post-World War II era decline hit the comic book industry, but Green Lantern was reimagined for the Silver Age as a test pilot named Hal Jordan. John Broome and Gil Kane's take on the character proved a smash hit, and he soon became (more)...

Who would have thought a movie with such a simple plot could honestly be one of the worst horror films made? Well look no further folks, this one bring all new meaning to horrible.
I found this Prism clamshell at a thrift store for 50 cents. From what I studied up, this movie was made in 1972 but could not find a VHS distributor. I guess Prism was the sucker for distributing this mess. The sad part is, the Prism logo (which is truly nostalgic) is the best part of this movie. If you wish to know how bad this is, it has a 1.8 on IMDb.
It takes a lot of hate to get that low rated on there. Also currently as of April 2011, it’s the 26th worst movie on Internet Movie Database. Also what makes this sad is a co-writer is Bill Finger who wrote for DC Comics.

The first on-set photos of Ryan Reynolds at work on the first day of the Green Lantern shoot in New Orleans have gone online at DCUmoviepage and Comic Book Movie.
In the pictures, Reynolds was seen filming his part at a bar called Old Point Bar which was renamed Broome’s Bar in honor of Green Lantern creator John Broome.
Green Latern was created in 1940 by writer Bill Finger and artist Martin Nodell. Hal Jordan (Reynolds) introduced in 1959, a second-generation test pilot, is an ordinary man who was given the power ring and battery (lantern) by a dying alien named Abin Sur. When Abin Sur’s spaceship crashed on Earth, the alien used his ring to seek out an individual to take his place as Green Lantern: someone who was “utterly honest and born without fear.”

The Green Lantern superhero debuted 70 years ago with All-American Comics volume 16 (pictured). A DC comic, it was created by writer Bill Finger and artist Martin Nodell. Warner Bros.’ Green Lantern flick may finally be moving forward. The trades say the studio is negotiating with Martin Campbell to direct the live-action film based on the DC Comics hero. Greg Berlanti, who wrote the script with Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green, had once been considered to direct. Instead, WB has attached him to direct This Is Where I Leave You, the upcoming Jonathan Tropper novel which will be adapted by the author. Each Green Lantern possesses a power ring that gives the user great control over the physical world as long as the wielder has sufficient willpower and strength to wield it.
