- England holds the distinction of being the person who initiated, with Enterprise Electronics, development of the world's first commercial Doppler radar. In 1981, Gary became the first person to use Doppler radar for direct warnings to the public
- Lead to the development of Storm Tracker, a storm tracking software.
- Launched "Storm Monitor" or ESP [Early Storm Protection] in February 2007, which utilized VIPIR [Volumetric Imaging and Processing of Integrated Radar] technology to measure a mesocyclone's strength and its tornado-producing potential.
- Co-developed Pathfinder [or Pathfinder9], and StormShield9, doppler radar softwares.
- (1996-2013) Chief Meteorologist - KWTV-DT (9), Oklahoma City, OK.
- Co-developed i-News, a discontinued internet-enabled desktop software for personal computers that provides severe weather and breaking news alerts to users.
- Lead the creation of First Warning in 1990 at KWTv, severe weather warning system designed for broadcast television stations, to provide visual alerts for severe and winter weather as well as other hydro-logic and non-hydro-logic weather advisories to television viewers in a timely and convenient manner. However, the system required manual input. Unlike it's automated counterpart, First Alert, created at KOCO 5, Oklahoma City's ABC affiliate.
- Lead to the development of MOAR [Massive Output Array Radar], launched on 8 May 2003. Gary England would refer MOAR as the "Mother Of All Radars". Uses enhanced street-level mapping to detect the path of tornadoes and GPS to track the location of KWTV's storm spotters.
