It’s been almost nine years since comedy legend Joan Rivers died following complications during a minor throat procedure. On that day, her daughter Melissa Rivers not only lost her mother but also lost a business partner. They publicly shared their personal lives on the reality series “Joan Knows Best,” on the red carpet every awards season and as critics and producers on “Fashion Police.” If that sounds like the formula for a complicated relationship, you’re right.
“Anyone who says that mother-daughter relationships aren’t complicated is lying,” Melissa told TheWrap. “They can be amazing and you can be close and you can have wonderful relationships with mothers and daughters, but no matter what, they’re complicated.”
Although we got to see them standing on opposite sides of every red carpet during awards season with mic in hand interviewing celebrities who were dressed to the nines and asking “Who are you wearing?...

Another day, another interview for Giuliana Rancic. The former E! News host, then known as Giuliana DePandi, had logged serious hours on red carpets, sat down with countless celebrities and regularly traded pleasantries in Italian with George Clooney. What was so special about this day—assignment: interview Bill Rancic, the winner of the first season of The Apprentice—in 2005? Well, there was something a little different about it. "I would watch [The Apprentice] with my girlfriend Colette every week, and Colette's like, 'You need to marry him.' I'm like, 'I do need to marry him,'" Giuliana recalled on HuffPost Live years later. "So...

Another virtual ceremony, another missing red carpet? Not for the Oscars. Just as the Academy somewhat controversially brought the nominees to the show in real life, rather than attempting the fully virtual shows we’ve seen for Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG awards, the Oscars kicked off in style Sunday with a real red carpet. Usually the pinnacle red carpet show of the year, the Oscars tried its best to bring some pre-pandemic level glamour to tonight’s awards at Los Angeles’ Union Station.
Oscar-winner Halle Berry and Promising Young Woman producer Margot Robbie debuted new hairstyles for the occasion. Berry teased her short bob by posting a photo of a pile of hair on Instagram earlier in the evening.
Nominees Carey Mulligan — Best Actress, Promising Young Woman — and Daniel Kaluuya — Best Supporting Actor, Judas and the Black Messiah — put their own twists on classic looks. Mulligan was elegant in...

"Well, actually I'm not living with my grandson. That's the difference between movie and this," she said. "And then, well, I'm sure my grandson will not give me that Mountain Dew." The "Mountain Dew" given to Youn's character in the movie is not actually Mountain Dew at all, so that's really great to...
