At 19, Marvelyn Brown met her Prince Charming, then she was diagnosed as HIV positive. She decided to dedicate her life to raising awareness about this preventable virus. She started going from school to school to tell her story, then town to town, then state to state, then worldwide. Now 26, Marvelyn is CEO of Marvelous Connections, which houses her activist efforts, and she also serves as a consultant to other organizations on HIV/AIDS issues. She's spoken about her experiences in almost every state and around the world from Mexico to Rwanda. She also wrote a 2008 memoir, The Naked Truth: Young, Beautiful and (HIV) Positive, she's told her story on Oprah's couch, and even won a 2007 Emmy Award for an AIDS public service announcement. Marvelyn shared her remarkable story and passion, and told us why she's proud to be a member of this Change Generation.

Nas is in the giving spirit for the holidays.
The renowned Queens lyricist headed to Harlem on Wednesday (December 22) to serve Christmas dinner to families affected by HIV/AIDS as part of an event run by music industry professional turned activist Maria Davis. And the Illmatic Mc was more than willing to lend a hand, and his celebrity, to help the cause.
"This event is Maria Davis' thing. She's HIV-positive, a part of the community of Harlem, so she does her thing for [the] holiday season for the people who are infected by AIDS or affected by AIDS," he explained to MTV News. "I came through [on the] strength of her friend Melba, who owns Melba's Restaurant — great soul food on 114th street here in Harlem.

Rapper Nas is helping to spread some festive cheer among families affected by the deadly HIV/AIDS virus this Christmas by serving up a holiday feast in New York. The "I Can" star will join HIV/AIDS activist Maria Davis and restaurateur Melba Wilson to provide food to over 250 people and their relatives at the Second Annual Christmas Dinner in Harlem on Wednesday, December 22.
