NEW YORK -- Eschewing the traditional DVD, The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson is taking a multiplatform approach to Emmy consideration. The Late Late Show is offering two whole episodes online via streaming video and, for the first time, via download on a special Web site that can be accessed by members of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences as well as other TV fans (www.LateLateShowOnlineScreeners.com). It's believed to be the first time that materials for Emmy consideration have been available for download. Other shows -- like CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Fox's Mad TV -- are being offered this year for Academy members to watch segments online. But while The Late Late Show will still send Academy members the shows via DVD if requested, executive producer Gary Considine said Monday afternoon that it seemed like the time was ripe to join the digital age.
