Born in Brooklyn, one of six children, to Irish immigrant parents Timothy Connolly, is a jockey and horse trainer, and Violet Caroline Thornton, a housewife.
Twice married to producer Harry Lee Danziger (eighteen years her senor): from 1950- to 1952 and from 1981 until his death in 2005.
In the early 60s, she was touted as "the girl who looks like Liz Taylor". However, her screen career was desultory.
Lived in Ireland (where she was schooled) from 1932, but returned to the U.S. in 1946 and worked in New York as a telephone operator. Subsequently worked as a model for the Hartford Agency.
Published an autobiography entitled Angel Face - A Memoir in 1999.
