An Australian horror film will be released in the Us through a platform that allows filmgoers to screen a film of their choice in selected local theatres.
The film, The Loved Ones, a teen horror written and directed by Sean Byrnes, is now available on the American-based platform Tugg.
The platform allows individuals and groups to select a title from Tugg’s library plus a screening time and local theatre to screen the film and spread the word through social media.
The film was picked up by Paramount’s low-budget distribution arm, Insurge label which is one of the labels featured on Tugg.
Film industry site Ain’t It Cool News, who called the film ‘a truly demented masterpiece’, is already presenting a string of screenings of The Loved Ones, throughout Alamo Drafthouse and AMC cinemas in the States.
The Loved Ones was Omnilab Media financed, Ambience Entertainment produced film.
