Thomas Brown's movie career began at George Lucas's ILM special effects
facility during THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. He became an Executive at
Francis Coppola's innovative Zoetrope Studios experiment in the early
80s where he introduced new technology such as computers and video to
the movie making process during the making of Coppola's Las Vegas
inspired fantasy ONE FROM THE HEART. In 1981, Brown produced for
Zoetrope and Sony Corporation the first theatrical shorts ever made in
1125 line high definition video. The Electronic Storyboarding process
for pre-visualizing movies was pioneered at Zoetrope. Brown, whose home
is in San Francisco, is currently designing new financing structures
for independent filmmakers. His current project is PASSING THRU LINDEN,
a mystery romance feature about environmental terrorism, written and
directed by Meg Switzgable.
