Earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology (with a concentration on "Media
Representation of Minorities") from UC-Berkeley, where she minored in
Theater. She went on to earn a Master's degree from Sarah Lawrence
College.
Classically trained dancer. Studied and taught ballet, jazz, and modern
dance.
Gave birth to her first child, a girl named Dakota Tao Brooks-Woodside, on September 1, 2009. Child's father is her ex-boyfriend D.B. Woodside.
Was a figure skating competitor and won several trophies when she was
