During a Produced By Conference conversation with Danny DeVito on Saturday, actor Michael Douglas, who faced allegations of sexual harassment in 2018, underlined his support for the #MeToo movement, adding that he believes it has indeed led to real change in Hollywood. “This Me Too movement has been phenomenal in bringing women into our industry more than ever before,” Douglas said. “I think it’s also time to be kind to each other. We know there have been some mistakes by a lot of people or some people but I don’t think it’s a large population. I do feel that it’s important to remember we all mutually love this process and to be kind to each other.”

Catherine Zeta-Jones revealed how some sexual misconduct allegations against her husband Michael Douglas affected her family. The Queen America star opened up to The Times U.K. about how the #MeToo movement entered its way into their household and nearly tore them apart. "My children and I were profoundly devastated by those allegations," Zeta-Jones said. "And I was torn about where my absolute morals lie." In January, Susan Braudy spoke to Today about a time the Oscar winner allegedly masturbated in front of her. She told Today that Douglas "repeatedly used inappropriate sexual language" and "harassed" her while she was an employee at his...

After Chris Hardwick and James Franco faced accusations of sexual improprieties, they each contended with a raft of dismayed think pieces, social-media brickbats, and a backlash of public opinion; anyone who suggested the possibility of a comeback was immediately upbraided. Some months later, it’s clear that just not the case.
AMC announced the end of Chris Hardwick’s suspension after investigating an abuse claim from his former girlfriend. Collider reported that James Franco is circling his first directing project since five women accused him of sexual harassment. (Franco had already been granted reentry to HBO’s second season of “The Deuce”). Meanwhile, Johnny Depp — accused of physically and verbally abusing ex-wife Amber Heard — was the biggest attraction at last week’s Comic-Con.
As the movement continues, different post-scandal fates have started to emerge. As a Vox headline noted this week, “Mel Gibson has set the blueprint for a #MeToo comeback.

Sigh. At this point it’s easier to assume literally everybody in Hollywood is a scumbag until we hear positive confirmation otherwise. Today’s lurid allegations are laid at the doorstep of Michael Douglas.
Former employee Susan Braudy alleges that in the late 1980s, while she was running the New York office of his Stonebridge Productions company, she suffered “sexual harassment by Douglas that included near-constant profane and sexually charged dialogue, demeaning comments about her appearance, graphic discussions regarding his mistresses and more.”
Braudy goes on to recount an incident where, at a 1989 meeting in Douglas’ apartment, the actor masturbated in front of her:
“Michael unzipped his chinos and I registered something amiss.“I peered at him and saw he’d inserted both hands into his unzipped pants. I realized to my horror that he was rubbing his private parts. Within seconds his voice cracked and it appeared to me he’d had an orgasm.

Ahead of January 20’s Producers Guild of America Awards, the PGA has ratified a new set of anti-sexual harassment guidelines. The recommendations were based on suggestions made by the PGA’s Anti-Sexual Harassment Task Force, a group first announced October 16, the day the guild revealed that it unanimously voted to begin expulsion proceedings against Harvey Weinstein. Rather than repealing the PGA’s decision, Weinstein — who oversaw five Best Picture Oscar winners — resigned, and the PGA declared him banned for life later that month.

In an appearance on “The Today Show” Friday morning, journalist and author Susan Braudy says actor Michael Douglas “fondle[d] himself” in front of her without her consent during a work meeting in the 1980s. “He slid down to the floor, unbuckled his belt, and put his hand inside his trousers, and I could see what he was doing,” said Braudy. “Then he began to sort of fondle himself, and I was very scared.”
Braudy said Douglas repeatedly harassed her while she was employed by his company, Stone Bridge Productions. “He thought he was the king of the world, and that he could humiliate me without any repercussions.” She did not go to police at the time, said Braudy, because friends warned her not to speak out against the powerful man at the height of his career.
Earlier this month, Douglas tried to get ahead of the allegation, calling it “a complete lie” and and saying there is “no truth to it whatsoever” in an exclusive interview with Deadline. “I wonder if people realize when you do something like this, it hurts a lot more than just one person,” he added.

In December, I was connected to a woman who was ready to share her story. The approach was familiar, something that has happened dozens of times to editors and reporters at The Hollywood Reporter and other media outlets since Oct. 5, the day Harvey Weinstein's first accusers came forward and launched the #MeToo movement that is sweeping the worlds of entertainment, media, politics, fashion and more.
The woman, a well-known journalist and author named Susan Braudy, had been telling this story to her closest friends for decades. In the late '80s, when Braudy was in her 40s, she was hired...
