For the fourth time, Defy Media is using prank videos as vehicles for social good. The multi-channel network and production company has launched another season of the Prank It Fwd web series, and this time, Hunger Games stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth joined the fun by pranking Smosh.
As with the other seasons of Prank It Fwd, the series’ fourth round is hosted by Greg Benson, built on a combination of practical jokes and positivity, sponsored by Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, and led by creators from within the Defy Media network as well as celebrities from TV and film. One of this season’s centerpiece pranks takes place at a Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 press junket, where Smosh stars Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla believe they are pulling a fast one on Lawrence. Instead, Lawrence reveals herself to be in on the joke and part of a counter-pranking effort led by Hutcherson,...

April Fools Day is a big time of year in YouTube's prank community, and for the second year in a row, the company that works with many of the most popular practical jokers on the Internet is using the unofficial holiday as a chance to do good. Break has brought back its popular Prank It Fwd series for a second straight April Fools Day full of "positive pranks."

In one of the new episodes, Break teams up with sponsor Barefoot Wine to provide a movie theater wedding for a cancer patient and her fiancée. Several partners from the Defy Media network join the fun: Greg Benson hosts, and Honest Trailers voice Jon Bailey lends his pipes to the fake movie trailer that serves as the episode's defining prank.

As promised this past August, Break.com has brought back its hit web series Prank it Fwd. The newest episode gives an Iraq veteran the surprise of his life, complete with a special greeting from Michelle Obama. The episode starts off with Gabrielle Carmona nominating her boyfriend Jon Arneson, a U.S. Army veteran who served time in Iraq now unable to find employment. To make matters worse, Arneson’s grandfather (who was responsible for raising him) died of cancer and Arneson had to take on the medical bills. Prank it Fwd’s host Greg Benson sets up an elaborate prank for Arneson to help remedy the soldier’s problems. He has Arneson show up for a job interview at Universal Studios, only to be taken backstage and asked to stand in for his favorite actor, Michael Weatherly from

With their boyish good looks and catchy pop-rock anthems, 5 Seconds Of Summer (5Sos) have attracted more than 1.2 million subscribers to their YouTube channel. This gives the Australian band a direct link to the teenage demographic, and a brand deal is making use of that connection. In a recent video on their channel, 5Sos dressed up as Target employees in an attempt to sell their new album to middle-aged shoppers. The video sees the Aussie foursome don red shirts and name tags as part of their attempt to go undercover. They then grab copies of their eponymous debut album (which just arrived in the Us after debuting Down Under on June 27th) and attempt to push them onto unsuspecting customers. The video takes on a similar vibe to Greg Benson's series of shopping pranks. This is an important time of the year for Target. With back-to-school and college move-in days looming,...

Although they are best known for their auto-tuned versions of viral clips, The Gregory Brothers are also capable original songwriters. The musical quartet has released a song titled 'DJ Play My Song (No, Leave Me Alone)' as part of YouTube Comedy Week, and it combines the group's trademark catchiness with guest appearances from the likes of Psy, DeStorm, and several others. The song, a sly parody of modern pop music, features Sarah Gregory as a woman who just wants to party all night with the music turned way up, with lyrics resembling a typical club hit. However, this plan draws the ire of the DJ, played by Evan Gregory, who just wants to keep the levels reasonable and thinks the woman is getting creepy, especially when she stalks him to the bathroom, his car, and his day job. The video features a ton of guest appearances: Psy appears in...

The Annoying Orange is the latest online video property to join the exclusive Billion Views Club. Dane Boedigheimer’s animated, live-action still lifes featuring the punny kitchen antics of anthropomorphic fruit with irritating senses of humor crossed the 10-figure viewcount threshold sometime earlier this month. Orange’s friends came together to poke fun at the wisecrackin’ piece of citrus in celebrity roast in celebration of the milestone. And if some of the voices of those roasting friends in the video below sound familiar, that’s because they belong to some of the biggest names on YouTube. Boedigheimer wrangled iJustine, The Fine Brothers, Kassem G, Tobuscus, Mystery Guitarman, Barats and Bereta, Greg Benson, Smosh, DeStorm, Richard Ryan, Shaycarl, Lauren Francesca, Buck Hollywood, and a few more individuals with substantial online followings to channel edible household items and say a few words. And here are the words Boedigheimer had for the occasion:...

Jessie Spano is so excited. Shel's also so scared. The most histrionic scene in all five seasons of Saved by the Bell is etched in the minds of every child of the early '90s. While Joey Lawrence's "Woah" and Pauley Shore's "Wheez the Juice" have fallen by the wayside, Spano's exclamations after overindulging on caffeine pills have stood the test of time. So, if you're someone like Dan Levy and creating a web series that's an amalgamation of your favorite early '90s sitcoms, this is a scene you want to spoof. And wouldn't ya know, Levy channels one helluva Elizabeth Berkley. In the first installment of Atom's latest web series, Dan Levy's Laugh Track Mash-Ups, Levy plays your stereotypical, naive high school student from which all after school specials are made. Dripping with impressionability, Dan dives headfirst into illegal substance abuse with the helping hand of resident bad boy,...
