Patience is a virtue, especially if you're a sci-fi fan.
When it comes to genre TV, science fiction and sci-fi adjacent programs are often saved when unceremoniously dumped by a network.
Jericho, Lucifer, The Expanse, and Stargate Sg-1 all found new life after cancellation. Today, Snowpiercer joins that list.
AMC Networks announced today that it has acquired the exclusive U.S. linear and streaming rights to all four seasons of the post-apocalyptic drama series Snowpiercer.
The first three seasons of the critically acclaimed drama will stream on AMC+ later this year, leading up to the series’ season four premiere on AMC and AMC+ in early 2025.
This should come as excellent news for TV Fanatics, as the show always drove discussion and fueled passionate viewers with much to say.

Snowpiercer’s final season will see the light of day after all.
AMC has picked up rights to all four seasons of the post-apocalyptic drama — including the completed but never aired fourth season. The series first aired on TNT, but the Warner Bros. Discovery network canceled the show in January 2023 as it and sister channels TBS and TruTV left the scripted business.
The first two seasons of Snowpiercer will begin streaming on AMC+ on June 1, with season three following a week later. The final season will debut July 21 on both AMC and AMC+ — a change from the network’s earlier plans to air the final season in early 2025.
“Snowpiercer is an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride with a loyal fanbase — similar to the passionate fandoms we serve across our biggest franchise series — and a welcome addition to AMC and AMC+,” said Ben Davis, executive vp original programming at AMC Networks and AMC Studios.

The final season of Snowpiercer has finally found a home.
The fourth season of the sci-fi drama will air on AMC after the company acquired the rights to the Tomorrow Studios-produced series. It comes after TNT scrapped the show last year as part of a wider Warner Bros. Discovery content write down strategy.
Deadline revealed in January 2023 that the fourth season wouldn’t air on its original home, as part of a slew of content cuts that also including the axing of Batgirl, Abrams’ HBO drama Demimonde, and TBS series such as The Big D, Chad and Kill The Orange Bear.
It is the latest series that AMC has saved after being scrapped elsewhere; the network bought Captain Nemo series Nautilus after it was cut by Disney+.

It’s been over a year since the third season of Snowpiercer wrapped up on TNT but there’s still no word on when fans might get to see the fourth and final season. Due to cost-cutting measures, it was announced earlier this year that Snowpiercer season 4 wouldn’t be airing on TNT but that Tomorrow Studios would be shopping the series to another network.
While speaking with Deadline, Tomorrow Studios CEO Marty Adelstein offered an update on the state of Snowpiercer. “We have Season 4 in the can, which hasn’t been seen yet,” Adelstein said. “We’re talking to a number of buyers about buying the first three seasons and also Season 4 which is probably our best season; we’re in the middle of that.” He added that they’re also searching for a new home for Let the Right One In, the former Showtime series that was canceled earlier this year.

“Snowpiercer,” TNT’s TV adaptation of Bong Joon Ho’s 2013 sci-fi climate catastrophe film of the same name, has halted production on its fourth and final season following extreme temperatures in Vancouver, Canada and the hospitalization of some crew members in the effort of being “extra cautious.”

The post-apocalyptic journey of the Snowpiercer, the last ark of humanity, will come to a close with its fourth and final season.
As a massive breakout hit, it grew from its roots as an extreme examination of class warfare into a character-driven, emotionally wrought, and intellectually challenging study of social governance in a world where hope survives through will alone.
Anchored by stars Daveed Diggs and Jennifer Connelly, the cast has blossomed over the past three seasons into a multi-faceted and fascinating ensemble where the bells of redemption and comeuppance have rung for many.

Is there a more thankless job in all of Washington, D.C. than first lady? The position is subject to an unreal amount of media scrutiny (second only to the president), requires a ridiculous number of wardrobe changes and demands the patience of a saint — all for the annual salary of… nothing.
Yet despite all outward appearances, being first lady isn’t a job. It’s a “circumstance,” says Eleanor Roosevelt (Gillian Anderson) in Showtime’s “The First Lady,” an anthology drama series that explores how she, Betty Ford (Michelle Pfeiffer), and Michelle Obama (Viola Davis) ended up in such a high-profile, influential, and often fraught circumstance.
Executive produced by Susanne Bier, who also directs all 10 episodes, “The First Lady” doesn’t move chronologically or profile each woman individually; rather, the show works to find parallels between arguably three of the most popular (and influential) first ladies ever.

“Snowpiercer” is changing showrunners going into the show’s fourth season.
Paul Zbyszewski — whose past credits include “Lost,” “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” and “Helstrom” — will take the reins of the TNT series from Graeme Manson. Manson famously took over showrunning duties on the drama show after original series creator Josh Friedman and TNT parted ways over “creative differences” before Season 1.
In addition, “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” alum Clark Gregg and Michael Aronov are both joining the series in Season 4. The news comes the same day as the Season 3 finale. Production is now underway on Season 4.

“Slave Play” made history back in October when it received 12 Tony Awards nominations, the most ever for a play. Five of those citations recognize members of its stellar ensemble, including a bid in Actress, two in Featured Actor, and two in Featured Actress. While “Slave Play” is the frontrunner for Best Play according to our exclusive Tony Awards predictions, none of its cast will take home trophies. But could an upset be looming?
Though it seems counterintuitive that Tony voters would award a play the top honor without recognizing at least one of its performers, it has happened six times in the past 20 years, including the two most recent. In 2019, Jez Butterworth’s “The Ferryman,” an expansive family drama about The Troubles in Ireland, won the top prize and trophies for Director (Sam Mendes), Scenic Design, and Costume Design, but didn’t pick up awards for its three nominated performers: actor Paddy Considine,...

HBO Max released the official trailer for the upcoming reality dating series “Fboy Island,” which will premiere on July 29.
Hosted by Nikki Glaser, the series follows three women, Nakia Renee, Cj Franco and Sarah Emig, who move to a tropical island where they’re joined by 24 men. Half of the men are “nice guys” also looking for a real relationship, while the others are self-proclaimed “f-boys” competing for a cash prize. By the finale, all will be revealed — who is a nice guy, who is an “f-boy” and who will the women ultimately choose. The series is a social experiment that asks the age-old question: can “f-boys” truly reform or do nice guys always finish last?
Glaser will executive produce alongside creator Elan Gale, Jason Goldberg, Ben Bitonti and showrunner Sam Dean.

The following review is spoiler-free for Jett.
There’s a certain amount of realistic chaos in Cinemax’s Jett that some fans of organized crime thrillers will appreciate and others will find daunting. Without a doubt, the performances of Carla Gugino, Giancarlo Esposito, and others are top notch, and the machinations that Gugino’s title character, Daisy “Jett” Kowalski, must go through to extract herself from the difficulties she finds herself in boost our opinion of the skill and professionalism the show’s antihero possesses. Although the series jumping around in time can be confusing at times, the practice usually has a context, and those that stick around for at least three of the nine episodes will find their tenacity rewarded as the overall picture starts to coalesce.

Carla Gugino’s first job as a TV series regular was playing Michael J. Fox’s reporter girlfriend Ashley on Spin City in 1996. It was a big break that instead broke bad: The show’s creators quickly realized Ashley was a distraction from the funnier workplace scenes, and Gugino was let go after a dozen episodes. So thorough was her erasure from the series that an Ashley subplot was removed from a rerun that aired not long after Gugino’s last episode, replaced by previously-cut footage featuring other characters who were still on the show.

Cinemax’s Jett stars Carla Gugino as a master thief, but she’s not the only connection to The Haunting of Hill House in the cast.
Jett, a crime thriller that premieres on June 14, 2019 on Cinemax, stars Carla Gugino as Daisy “Jett” Kowalski, a thief and heist mastermind. Because she’s the ultimate professional, being the mother of a seven-year-old child was not necessarily part her overall life plan, and although her unconventional parenting style is only one of many story arcs in Jett, those who enjoyed Gugino’s performance in Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House will notice another connection. Jett’s daughter Alice is played by Violet McGraw, who played the younger version of Nell Crain opposite Gugino’s Olivia Crain.
Sebastian Guttierez, who executive produces Jett alongside his partner Gugino, explained how the casting of McGraw was a fortunate circumstance of a tight schedule.

Behold, summer! Now that spring (and the accompanying closing of this year’s Emmys eligibility) is in the rearview mirror, the warmer months bring plenty of new programming. Some are literary adaptations, others are American versions of global series, and one is based on a show that doesn’t actually exist at all. June is a treasure trove.

They’ll co-star opposite Gary Oldman, Armie Hammer, Evangeline Lilly, Greg Kinnear, Michelle Rodriguez, and Lily-Rose Depp in the opioid crisis pic, which is shooting in Montreal.
Dreamland follows three colliding stories: A drug trafficker (Hammer) arranges a multi-cartel Fentanyl smuggling operation between Canada and the U.S.; an architect (Lilly) recovering from an OxyContin addiction tracks down the truth behind her son’s involvement with narcotics; and a university professor (Oldman) battles unexpected revelations about his employer, a drug company with deep government influence bringing a new “non-addictive” painkiller to market.
Evans will play a pharmaceutical executive on the verge of a major breakthrough.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “The Cryptobanker,” the 10th episode of “The Blacklist” Season 6.

Director Chris Weitz’s Operation Finale follows the haunting and terrifying true story of a team of Israeli secret service agents and their tense mission to identify and extract Adolf Eichmann, an architect of the Holocaust who escaped justice and fled to Argentina.
