Author of adventures about alligators, Indian fighters,
13th-century Saxons and Normans, science-fiction and fantasy.
Planning from the age of 16 to be a social worker, he became,
instead, a citrus picker, a movie extra and a soldier. In his early
30s he began to write novels as well as stories that appeared in
such magazines as "Saturday Evening Post", "Argosy", "Alfred Hitchcock's
Mystery Magazine" and "Boys' Life". He and his wife and daughter lived
in Altadena, CA.
