Jennifer Garner is one of the most prolific actresses working today. The actress has been a part of films such as 13 Going on 30, Juno, Pearl Harbor, Daredevil, and Elektra. While Garner has been taking it slow on the acting front, she recently seemed to have an emotional day as her eldest daughter, Violet Affleck, reportedly graduated high school.
The Family Switch star posted a thread of photos of her getting emotional while on the way to her daughter’s graduation. She even had a video of her crying on the plane and multiple images of her being proud of her daughter. Many celebrities supported the actress, including Reese Witherspoon, Ryan Reynolds, and Michelle Pfeifer.

NCIS’ season 21 has finally arrived in full, proving that there will be some major changes in the upcoming season 22. The show’s latest episodes showed one of NCIS Special Agents Jessica Knight, portrayed by Katrina Law, accepting an offer to be promoted to React Chief Training Officer at Camp Pendleton, the position that will eventually and inevitably transfer her to the other side of the country.
Knight’s possible departure from the Major Case Response Team may come as a difficult thing to process for many as the character became fan-favorite throughout the three last seasons of the show. However, by leaving the team for good, Jessica seemingly paves the way for NCIS’ 19-year-old trend that proves that the series was ahead of its time all along.
Though it’s not yet confirmed whether Jessica Knight will in fact leave the whole show or will still make her appearance in the future episodes,...

NCIS is not afraid to lose characters, whether by them leaving or even dying. There is not a single main character left from the pilot, and only Sean Murray remains as Timothy McGee from the first season (his first appearance was on the seventh episode of Season 1). Now, another major character might be leaving.
Here is a look at what changes the NCIS season finale might bring to the show.
Could Katrina Law Leave NCIS?
Katrina Law might be leaving NCIS after this season’s finale. The Season 21 finale (“Reef Madness”) has some hints that Knight (Law) might leave the series by taking on a new job. The show has never shied away from characters leaving the show — often in shocking manners.
Caitlin Todd (Sasha Alexander) was a main character in the first season as she clashed with Jetrho Leroy Gibbs before joining the team and becoming a key member of his squad.

Over the course of its 21-year television run, CBS’ police procedural show NCIS has been constantly reshaping its story by adding and removing characters, something that would make the plot go in a completely different direction.
Such changes mostly did affect the storyline, but only one character from the first ever seasons gave the whole show a radically switched perspective that later on helped introduce another significant cast member.
Kate’s Death Was a True Game Changer for NCIS
Caitlin "Kate" Todd, a special agent portrayed by Sasha Alexander in seasons 1 and 2, had some special impact on her colleagues that the latter ones didn’t really become aware of until Kate was gone.

Plot: A gritty, emotional tale about healing familial wounds through re-connection. After a drastic incident in her life, a young woman embarks on an impromptu road trip with her estranged father. En-route to their destination of Santa Fe, New Mexico, the two are forced to confront the issues of their past that have led to their frail relationship, while encountering an eccentric array of characters along the way, in order to bring them closer together again.
Review: Road trips and redemption tales have long been staples of filmmaking, big and small. Stories of connection between estranged family members, struggles with addiction, and stark looks at the landscape of rural America are nothing new, but that does not mean they are not ripe for new stories. Bleeding Love is a film rooted in the familiar tropes of decades worth of movies and yet it still manages to bring something unique to the mix.

NCIS gave fans memorable characters they’ll remember forever — but many of those fan favorites are known for their deaths. The show’s creators recently discussed the characters, actors, and storylines they worked with over the years. And they discussed one “shocking” death that came after the actor complained of long hours on set.
‘NCIS’ creators said actor Sasha Alexander didn’t want to work long, grueling hours
NCIS creators discussed the death of Sasha Alexander’s character, Caitlin Todd. Alexander appeared in the first two seasons of the series, but she was shot in the head in the season 2 finale by Leroy Jethro Gibbs’ archnemesis Ari Haswari.
Peter Golden, the former head of CBS casting, spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about Alexander. “We were only able to make a deal with Sasha for two seasons,” he said. “She decided she wanted to move on to other things, and that...

One of the most stunning moments in NCIS history came early on in the show’s run. In the season 2 finale, Sasha Alexander’s Agent Caitlin Todd was abruptly killed off. The character was shot in the head by a rogue Mossad officer named Ari Haswari (Rudolf Martin).
The shock death of a major character left NCIS fans reeling – and wondering why the show’s writers would kill off Agent Todd. In the past, Alexander has said that her departure was due to the show’s grueling workload. Once the show’s writers knew she wanted to leave, they decided to give her the most dramatic exit possible, insiders explained to The Hollywood Reporter in a recent oral history of the show.

Although NCIS was well-liked from the get-go, not even an elite investigation could have foreseen the show becoming a hit that would span decades and launch a franchise.
It began in spring 2003 as a backdoor pilot for CBS’ sturdy military-law procedural Jag. Co-created by Jag mastermind Donald P. Bellisario (Magnum, P.I., Quantum Leap) and Don McGill (Numbers, CSI), NCIS follows special agents from D.C.’s Naval Criminal Investigative Service, led by Mark Harmon as Leroy Jethro Gibbs. The show’s initial core cast included Michael Weatherly (Tony Dinozzo), Sasha Alexander (Caitlin Todd), Pauley Perrette (Abby Sciuto) and David McCallum (Ducky Mallard). Twenty years later, the series continues to thrive, as it stands as CBS’ No. 1 broadcast drama for five straight seasons and has launched four spinoffs, with the first international entry, NCIS: Sydney, debuting this fall on the network.

NCIS might not be returning for its 21st season with new episodes this fall, but CBS is going to be putting on quite the celebration for the long-running procedural drama’s 20th anniversary. It was on September 23, 2003 that NCIS first premiered, and 459 episodes later (and now four other series in the franchise), CBS has declared Monday, September 25 “NCIS Day.” (The series moved from Tuesdays to Mondays with Season 19.) NCIS has been a top 20 series for 18 of its 20 seasons and TV’s top broadcast drama for the last five consecutive seasons (as well as 13 of the last 14). Also of note: Combining all the series, the franchise will reach a milestone 1,000th episode during NCIS Season 21. The celebration includes a mini marathon on CBS (and streaming on Paramount+) of the series premiere, which introduced Kate (Sasha Alexander) to Gibbs (Mark Harmon), Tony (Michael Weatherly), and Ducky (David McCallum) and NCIS; Season 2’s “Swak,...

Laura Dern didn’t hold back when it came to sharing her honest opinion about a Christmas cocktail she tried.
In a hilarious video, shared by her friend and “Big Little Lies” co-star, Reese Witherspoon, the latter actress offers Dern a sip of her “Negroni Sbagliato”, to which the “Little Women” star then makes a funny face before saying, “That’s disgusting.”
Witherspoon then bursts out laughing, adding, “It is kind of gross.”
The “Morning Show” actress captioned the post, “Christmas Cocktails with Dern.”

Rizzoli and Isles haven't solved a new case on TV in nearly six years.
While Tess Gerritsen continues to write new novels on the beloved duo, we've been left with a significant gap in our lives as their lives go on without us bearing witness on-screen.
The iconic duo of Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander were TV staples for over 100 episodes, but what are they (and the rest of the cast) doing now?
In Memorium: Lee Thompson Young -- Detective Barry Frost
Lee Thompson Young, who played Detective Frost (one of Jane Rizzoli's closest co-workers), tragically passed away in 2013 before the filming of Season Five.
Detective Frost's death got handled beautifully by the writers, from his death in Rizzoli and Isles Season 5 Episode 1 to Jane seeing a vision of him in Rizzoli and Isles Season 5 Episode 18.
The episodes throughout Season Five left us crying, laughing, and missing Lee Thompson Young's presence on our screens.

Special Agents Anthony Dinozzo and Kate Todd are together again … sort of. Sasha Alexander, who played Kate for the first two seasons of NCIS, shared photos from the set of CBS’ Bull, starring Michael Weatherly, who played Tony until he left at the end of Season 13. “Reunited with this one…,” she wrote alongside a photo of the two of them sitting on a bed on Twitter. Sasha Alexander is an actress whose face you’ve probably seen on your TV screen several times over the last 25 years. Throughout her career, she’s built an impressive resume that includes credits in popular shows such as Shameless and NCIS. She is probably best known for playing one of the title characters in the series Rizzoli & Isles. In addition to the work she’s done in the TV world, Sasha has also been in several movies. Although it’s been a couple of years since we’ve seen her on our screens, there’s no doubt that Sasha is going to be making

The first episode of “NCIS” premiered in 2004 with news footage of George W. Bush boarding Air Force One transforming into a scripted scene of a fictional George W. Bush joshing about barbecue before one of his new bodyguard mysteriously drops dead. Forty-some odd minutes of Mark Harmon being right, Sasha Alexander frowning, and countless 9/11 references later, the bad guy is caught and the gang is free to solve another 18 seasons (and counting) of weekly mysteries. The show was an extreme product of its time, but in the grand tradition of procedurals about cops and military personnel, proved extremely malleable to fit whatever era it finds itself reflecting. In a television world increasingly marked by change and plummeting broadcast ratings, “NCIS” is still one of CBS’ most reliable series. It’s no wonder the network saw fit to produce yet another spinoff of it — though at the very least, “NCIS: Hawai’i...

Ludacris and Shane Graham spar as foster father and son in this inspirational story of real-life BMX star John Buultjens
“Another life lesson?” snaps flailing foster kid John (Shane Graham), as his new family attempt to throw him another emotional lifeline. This inspirational drama-cum-antiracist statement, sponsored by the likes of Vans, Etnies and Powell-Peralta, does indeed come over a bit like the action-sports version of the Disney movie but is luckily given just enough emotional ballast by its performers.
Graham stars as real-life BMX star John Buultjens – whose story has been transposed from Glasgow to Oakdale, California – who is taken into care at the start of the film aged nine for stabbing his abusive father (played by Buultjens himself). Already being drawn into the orbit of Nazi gangs, with a small swastika forcibly carved into his neck, this white supremacist poppet has to fight for his life in juvie, and grows into a tight-lipped,...

“The Ride” begins with a scene of unexpected brutality, engineered by a racist, feral kid. Even so, its “inspired by a true story” promise at the start rings a little tinny. And early on, the BMX-meets-“love wins” drama about a boy whose white supremacist roots and abusive home life land him in juvenile detention has an afterschool-special veneer, albeit somewhat gritty. The over-emotive score, particularly at the outset, punctuates the violence and the sentiment unnecessarily.
But the movie, streaming on Amazon, gains emotional traction when seven years later, John McCord finds himself released to an interracial foster couple. The reason for the film’s emotional resonance owes less to the screenplay — which teases too many easy tropes — than it does to the slow-burn chemistry between Shane Graham, who plays John of the set jaw and racist quips, and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, who portrays the foster father who has seen a lot worse.

With films like The Help, Hidden Figures, and Green Book in the rearview mirror, I foolishly thought that Hollywood had learned its lesson and the patronizing, clichéd white savior narrative would be put to rest for at least another decade or so. In a time when the Black Lives Matter movement has never been more visible in mainstream media and conversations around racism and white supremacy are inspiring cultural reckoning, you would hope someone would think twice before going forward with a film where a Black man "saves" a white supremacist teen. But no, instead, we have The Ride, an upcoming indie film inspired by the real-life story of BMX star John Buultjens.

"Did you think it was going to be easy?" Roadside Attractions has debuted another new official US trailer for an indie drama titled The Ride, from filmmaker Alex Ranarivelo, about the life of a pro BMX rider from Glasgow, Scotland. This originally premiered at the Newport Beach Film Festival in 2018, and we featured a promo trailer back then. The Ride, also known as just Ride, is about BMX pro John Buultjens, as played by Shane Graham in the film. Raised by a white supremacist family, John spent most of his youth locked up in a juvenile detention center. He eventually gets introduced to a foster family, only to discover his new father is black, but together they work through to overcome his racism and "form a bond that helps thrust him down the path to BMX glory." Also starring Ludacris, Sasha Alexander, Blake Sheldon, Jessica Serfaty, Ali Afshar, Nic Luken,...

You’d think Lorraine Bracco would have been to Italy by now, but it took a one-euro home — and HGTV — to get her there.
The 66-year-old star of “Goodfellas” and “The Sopranos” admits she gamed the system to land one of the 16 sought-after (and basically free) Sicily fixer-uppers, which was really more of a tourism advertisement than an earnest real estate opportunity.
“I’ll be truthful: I was very cheeky,” Bracco recalled of the email that got her selected into the program. “When I wrote to the mayor, I wrote that I was an Italian-American actress and I was really interested in getting one of the one euro [houses]. And I did mention that I could get HGTV to come with me and cover it.”
That’ll do it.
But her onscreen work is not what got Bracco the keys to what equates to a $1.30 home in Sambuca, Italy: Bracco told...

It seems every decade, DC and Marvel each introduce a major threat that captures the readership’s imagination. In the 1980s, for DC that was Deathstroke, a wonderfully complex opponent to the New Teen Titans, reaching a high point with the much-lauded “The Judas Contract” storyline in 1985. In the hands of writer Marv Wolfman and artist George Pérez, he rose head and shoulders above most other super-villains of the day.
Since then, he has been used by virtually every writer, pitting him against most every mask and cape in the DC Universe. He’s successfully crossed over to animation and even live-action television and film. As a result, depending on the creators involved, he remains a fascinating, deadly threat or a run of the mill villain used to merely show up the hero.
The most recent such example is the CW Seed animated miniseries, Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons, which is...

Slade Wilson has a complicated family life. He’s the premier assassin in the DC Universe, with super powers and a big beefy sword and a butler with wit sharper than Slade’s sword. He’s would seem to be the ideal Batman foil, but instead he’s the primary villain of the Teen Titans, and especially Robins in all their varying incarnations. And most of that rivalry comes from Slade’s dysfunctional family, which you can get a glimpse of in this exclusive clip from the upcoming DC animated feature, Deathstroke: Knights and Dragons.
The movie looks to be a little bit about Deathstroke’s origin story, and a lot about his messed up relationship with Adeline, his ex-wife; and his kids, Grant, Rose and Joseph. By their superhero names, the kids are Ravager, Ravager, and Jericho.
This clip pits Rose, in full H.I.V.E. armor and in the H.

In a sign of what may be seen as an emerging, successful alternative to expensive red carpet charity events, Saturday night’s two-hour Lead With Love: Project Angel Food Emergency Telethon, which aired live on Ktla 5, smashed its fundraising goal. The virtual event exceeded its $500,000 goal by nearly $200,000, totaling more than $700,000 during the all-star event, at very little cost to the Hollywood-based nonprofit Project Angel Food.
A-list names, including Sir Elton John, David Furnish, Jamie Lee Curtis, Matt Bomer and Sharon Stone, contributed brief segments celebrating Project Angel Food’s contributions to Hollywood’s underserved community.
